I must admit I find things like this very ostentatious.
Surely there are better ways of honouring or remembering or whatever you plan to do, than making a thread on some finaru fantariji forum.

This forum has transcended mere Final Fantasy talk now. As a community, most active members here are more active in other sections, or are chatting with each other.

If people want a new thread for 9/11's 10th anniversary, I see no harm in creating one. One for our flashbulb memory recollections would perhaps be received better on this forum than a sort of shrine thread.

Ofcourse they can make a thread about 9/11 and what not..

But the OP suggested some new Banner or a whole theme and that is something I dont see fit as well as many others..

Many other horrific things happened and still happens and you dont see us making a special banner for that.

A thread is always welcome since this forum consists of threads..

I think Section for serious discussions and debates is the best suitable imo for the 9/11 thread.

I meant Final Fantasy Forums as a whole.

It's not really only a Final Fantasy community. It is, but it isn't. Weeks can go by and a lot of people probably aren't even thinking of Final Fantasy as they type the address.

It's a large community with a varied group of people with different interests, and different boards for lots of different things.

I was only meaning to say that it isn't silly to make a thread on 9/11 just because it is a Final Fantasy forum, as we can potentially make a thread on anything that is kosher, so long as it is in the right section.

Perhaps do something practical like volunteering. Spend an hour or two to help out your local firefighters/police and if they don't need your help...go raise some money to donate to the (families of the) victims.

Just my take on it, although I have never really felt much sorrow for the day. I didn't really understand it then and by the time I did comprehend the severity of it I was already "beyond" the point of being affected.

Edit: We made a banner for breast cancer awareness. Just saying.

on the banners what people put in their sig is up to them... soo on that i'll just say that it up to each member to make their own choice

Breast cancer awareness is a world wide aspect as in 9/11 effected the rest of the world as well, but more USA because that is were the tragedy took place.

I agree with most people that a banner on the top of FFF is not necessary imo nor a theme.
Banner in a sig go ahead.
Make a thread ofcourse.

May the civillians lost in the tragedy rest in peace.

Also there are some pretty interesting theories circling around about the origins of the attack...and it made me wonder...but that is a whole other story.
