I didnt see a thread for this game, so here it is. Have any of you played any of the games? I played Sonic adventure battle 2, Sonic heroes, Every one that came on advance, Sonic Rush, the Sonic Rpg on the ds, and Sonic and the secret Rings. The games are really cool. The high speed action in most of them is really exciting. My favorite one so far is sonic and the secret rings. Darkspine sonic just looks so epic. So what about you guys?

I haven't played any of the recent ones other than Mario and Sonic in the Olympic games which I thoroughly enjoyed. I'd recommened going back to the beginning though and playing and originals, Sonic The Hedgehog 1-3 and Sonic & Knuckles which you can join together with either of the other 3, they were rather epic games. :ryan:

Sega Megadrive-era Sonic the Hedgehog games were fucking awesome. I've only played Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog of the newer games but I thought they were shit. The platformers on the GBA were ok.

So you like sonic games, but haven't played any of the good ones?

...

Sorry Key Blades of Destiny but got to agree with Zerokku ..

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic CD [ Oh meh gosh-- Sonic CD * Fan drools xD] where made of pure win and awesome and they were faster and funner too..

Played Sonic Heroes on the PlayStation five years ago and the camera angle just destoryed the whole fun out of the game and it was just fricken frustrating ..

And Newer Sonic Hedgehog games they changed Dr Robotnik to ....Dr Eggman..
Sorry but whut... ?
:gonk:
Play the older Sonic The Hedgehog games Keyblades of Destiny and see what you are missing out on...
^-^

Meh, I lost interest after Sega went down the drain and became the company we know today. I have yet to find a 3D sonic game that I enjoy like the old 2D ones.

Especially recently, they need to stop trying to sell Sonic games just by introducing random gimmicks. Werewolf Sonic, Sonic with a sword, etc. They need to just bring back classic Sonic gameplay without any random gameplay elements thrown in.

I liked it back when Knuckles was cooler, Shadow didn't exist, and gameplay revolved around speed rather than gimmicks. >_>

*revives the thread*
So, has anyone seen the news about Project Needlemouse?

I, for one, am absolutely overjoyed that my childhood icon is getting the revival he so desperately needs. There hasn't been a decent, proper Sonic game since Sonic Advance 3 back in 2004, in my opinion. Sonic just isn't meant for 3D. Nor is he meant for cheap and crappy pseudo-anime cartoons like Sonic X, or this new "cool" attitude he's picked up. A proper, 2.5D Sonic game that is a true sequel to the MegaDrive originals is exactly what the franchise needs. The "Episode 1" bit sounds promising, as well. Is Sonic Team finally going to go back to what they're actually good at? =D

I loved the Sonic games. I don't care about the gameplay, just as long as it's fun.

I remember playing one for Sega when I was a kid, but I don't even know the name of it. I assume it's the first one, though. It really felt like Sonic and Tails were meeting Robotnik in that boss battle I witnessed.

As for the ones I do remember playing, I played the demo for Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes (all A's! Yay!) and Shadow the Hedgehog. I really don't mind when they made cartoons like Sonic X or new 3D games for him, but I sure would love to play the old games someday. I liked Sonic since that childhood memory. :)

Awww yeah, I was a big Sonic fan back in the day. I sort of stopped playing Sonic after Sonic and Knuckles, so it's been a while since I've played a new Sonic game. That's great that they're coming out with a new one that's going back to the old Sega versions. They did the same thing with the New Mario Bros game, it's like the old school version, but refined for modern day graphics and playability. I'll look forward to seeing this game when it comes out.

Well, I have taken other's advice and played one on my friend's Sega Genesis. It was one where you can Co-op with tails. Gotta admit, it was awesome :wacky: Seemed so retro and was actually fun. I am a new generation type person, so I don't like the older games much, but some of them are pretty fun.

Sonic needs a new game like that, and I bet it will sell more than all the 3D Sonic games on the PS3/X360 as well. It's never really been the same since it left the 2D versions and just seems to have been heading in a downward spiral, especially since once you've played one 3D Sonic you've played them all really. Can't wait! :D Hopefully they'll decide to bring it to the NDS as well :)

I can see them bringing Sonic 4 out on the DSi network at some point - it wouldn't be too much of a stretch if they just stuck with proper controls and didn't try to mess it up with touch-screen controls like they did with Sonic Rush.

Sonic Classic Collection will be out on the DS next month...and I know that despite the fact that I have Sonic Mega Collection on the Gamecube and the Sega Megadrive Classic Collection on the 360, I'm going to end up buying it, just to experience the classic Sonic games on my DS, and not sitting in my bedroom. XD

The only Sonic the Hedgehog games I ever played/owned were when I had the Sega way back when I was in primary school.

It was terrible because we had no memory card or anything and so if we died at one level, we'd have to go all the way back to the start and replay until we got back to that level again and then continue on. =(

I think I had two or three games of Sonic on the Sega but I can't remember what they were called exactly.

Uhhh tbh Sonic the hedgehog 4 looks pretty meh to me. It looks like the same shit again and again..... The fact that it is the sequel to sonic the hedgehog III does intrigue me thouh because I loved III and hopefully IV will be good too. But xbox live arcade wii ware and ds :hmmm: sucky systems for this tbh. Sonic is getting worse and worse.

Ah, Sonic. Such fond memories... Anyway I also feel the Sonic series is a shadow of its former self. I enjoyed the Genesis-era Sonic, yes even Sonic Spinball and Sonic 3D Blast but that's it. I haven't had much of an interest in the Sonic series after Adventure so I haven't played too many games after that. Sonic Adventure is okay at best but Sonic Heroes and the next gen Sonic The Hedgehog really makes me want to cry. However Sega may give me some hope with Sonic the Hedgehog 4. With some luck it will turn out like NEW Super Mario Bros., good, fun, and nostalgic.

I've played some of the older Sonic games. I've played 1, 2 and Sonic and Knuckles. The only one I've beaten is Sonic and Knuckles. 2 is still my favorite. I love most of the levels and the music is awesome. For some reason, I've never beaten that one though. It was that damn metal Sonic on Death Egg Zone that always killed me. >_>

Not sure if this goes in here but it's more Sonic related then anything.

I have played some Sonic and SEGA All Stars Racing lately and I have to say it's a really good game for a so called "Mario Kart" rip off.

I'm certainly enjoying it, and it seems to be a fun game to play when bored.

I can remember the old Sonic the hedgehog online flash games. *Goes googling for more in memories of his childhood* xD

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 & 3 were amazing on the Genesis. I was also highly impressed with Sonic Adventure. Sonic 1 from Genesis I only find mildly entertaining.

Everything else was poor IMO. Even the 2D's that come out on arcade emulators are no fun without the old fashioned debug codes, and sound test codes.

Sonic adventure 2 was pretty epic and have remeber trying to hatch the ultimite Chao. But theres also bad sonic games like Sonic heros and those cartoons.
