So I was looking around the EB Games site and came across this deal:

Price: $399.99

Does anyone think that the price is a little strange?

They're both meant to be new stock. Not used or anything.

Is there something I seem to be missing that you guys might pick up?

I heard the PS3 price is dropping this summer, maybe it's already in effect. I should save up some MONEY NOW! well if I wasn't trying to build a custom PC :( . I hope this builds the PS3 community up by a few hundred thousand at least this summer. I plan on getting one soon anyways.
 
Still 400 bucks but getting better. Hopefully when i end up with enough money it will be even lower! like ps2 low yay!
 
As a PS3 owner, I must say that it's hardly worth it at the moment.

Unless you have super high speed internet and LOVE the idea of watching youtube on your television, it isn't worth it. There are hardly any AMAZING exclusive games right now.

Oh and if you don't have a Hi-Def TV, prepare to have a terrible experience with extremely dark colors and hard to see menus. If you do have a Hi-Def TV, prepare to never watch any other TV that is not equal or greater again if you do get it.

I'd wait until 2010 to get a PS3. 2009 is going to be another bad year for the PS3 (Seeing as the PS2 has sold more than the PS3 this year so far).

The only big perk is Final Fantasy VII is up for download in the PSN network. Also, be aware that new versions of the PS3 are not backwards compatible. So you wont be able to play your old games. Even if you manage to get one, there is no memory card slot. So you will be starting over on every game you ever own ever if you play it on the PS3.

Overall though, it's a good blu-ray player and great with the internet.

Just thought I'd throw the cons to it out there for those who are thinking about this bundle.

Ur probably looking at the 160 gig version then right? From what I read, it's going to be a $100 price drop. I've been to Best buy, EB, Futureshop and seem em for 300-499. I think Ur local shop is taking U for a sucker haha.

Ye, that is a sweet deal. It's most likely a marketing scheme to further lure in FF players w/ a FF movie before XIII hits. If I had the cash, I'd totally buy into it. Maybe I can get in 21 days straight at work, then I'd still be able to pay rent, food, save for teh future PC and get a PS3 too :). I guess hard work yeilds the best results *sigh* they better NOT stop the deal by the time my pay cheque rolls out haha, thnx for the heads up on this deal ;)

In fairness, the PS3 line up is much, much better than the 360's this year. :ness:

As for the whole price thing, I know Sony have dropped the prices quite a bit lately, in fact, that's only just a bit more cheaper than the PS3's over here, which are around £299 which normally comes with a free game or two. So I wouldn't say there's anything wrong with that price, although you have to take into account the $10-$20 shipping fee. The price is probably spot on for Sony's current PS3 prices. I remember getting my PS3 for £427/$800 >.>
 
Yeah PS3's line is way better this year.

If it's the FF7 PS3 design I would totally get it O:

and no there will be no price drop from sony. They'd lose too much money with a price drop.
