Soo. I just finished FFVII

Well Dan(.),
Hopefully you made the right choice to continue the FF experience by picking up and playing FFVIII. This is the only way that you are going to be able to CLEARLY DEFINE YOUR experience of the great game that is FFVII. What I mean to say is that if you ARE going to pick up one of the many (and mostly) pitiful spinoffs of FFVII, you are not only participating in Square-Enix's attempt to milk the juggernaught game that happens to be FFVII, but you are also blurring the lines between the plot of VII and mixing it together with the far-fetched plots of the spinoffs. THEY WILL ONLY CONFUSE YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND YOOOOOUUUURRR EXPERIENCE OF FFVII.
that is all

FFVII is not a bad bender to be on its one of the better FF stories around and FFVIII will just take you away from the history of FFVII but if your ready to move on FFVIII is the way to go great battle system intiuging story and you get to fly the RAGNAROK....WOW!!!

I suggest you to play FF8 due to your continuity in your game and finish the all stages.
This make you very exiting in the game to play.

You don't really have to play them in order, but I find that if you go to something with next-gen graphics (ie. a PS2 or PS3 series), going back to the polygons and slower ATB battles may not much fun. I beat FFXIII and then tried going back to FF8 and found myself super annoyed at the slow dialogue and even more cumbersome battle system. It's a great game, though.

I'm going to side with most people and say go ahead and play FF8 instead of jumping to something like FFX or XIII. Besides, Rinoa's hot.

I gotta stop perving on FF characters...

Alright, I know I'm probably going to be crucified for this but I didn't really care all that much for this game. Of all the games in the series that I've played, this game comes second to last after the FFIII remake. I played the game when I was younger and I thought it was awesome. Then I finally played through the whole thing like two years ago and I didn't really like it. The only characters in the game I liked were Barret, Reno, and Cid. I used to think Vincent was epic but then when I played through the game and read all of his dialogue I was like "Whoa...Anti-depressants much?" And I'm really not a fan of Sephiroth. I mean, yeah, the whole destruction of the world thing I was for (even though that's like the main point of most villians) but it was just him I didn't like. I actually felt he was more awesome in the movie, but that's probably because he was only in there for like six minutes. I don't know, this is just I feel.

I'd say go and play final fantasy 8 if i didnt hate it so much, so i advise you go and drink quite a few beers before playing it. That way you might forget it by the next morning.
