Star Ocean - The Second Story

No, the PS2 release sucked compared to the PSX one...

I hear nothing but good things about the first game in the series...which was released on nintendo...Unforunately though, it's superdeeduper rare. =[
 
In some earlier posts someone mentioned the first Star Ocean. I don't have it but I found a ROM online that will let you play it. I'm sure it's against the rules to post websites or links to this kind of stuff but I will say that when I played it, the storyline was in english. Someone translated the text of the story however the menus are all in japanese. It made it very hard to play.

Other than that I've only played the 3rd one. Since everyone says that the 2nd is so much better I'm going to have to try it. Once I get out of the house and am on my own I'll probably be able to get it.
 
If you're big on graphics, you might not like SO2...
It's got chibi (almost FFVI quality) graphics...

But the skill system, cooking, synthesis...everything is 100-fold better than SO3.
