Stuck in Cosmo Canyon

I'm not sure how to fix this, after I talk with BodenHeimer and then retrieve Red XIII, I stroll back up to the door that's sealed, and then commence climbing down. On the rope after the first set of stairs, I get stuck and can't get off of it. Can anyone else tell me how to fix this?

I got it. I don't know what happened or why, but I changed to analog and it made all the difference.

Yes, analog makes all the diffrence.
With analog on you can move around more smoothly than on the D-Pad.

I think there is a problem with my FFVII then because I turn analog on nothing happens.

Turning the analog stick on locks the D-Pad, and the stick still doesn't work. You can't use the stick in FF7.

Final Fantasy VII isn't compatible with the analogue sticks. The analogue sticks were first used for VIII and then onwards. You're just gonna have to stick with the D-Pad with VII.

There are some off-brand controllers that will let you use the analog stick on FFVII. I play FFVII on my PS2 and I use a madcatz controller and when I switch to analog it will let you move around with it. It wouldn't work with any of my other controllers though.
