Apocrypha: Ascension of the Seven Saints

Premise
Many are the prophecies that speak of the Apocalypse, that most dreadful event that will spell mankind’s doom, as the creatures of Hell rise to take the planet for themselves, whilst the righteous ascend to paradise. Many times has the event been foretold incorrectly; so many times, in fact, that many no longer give credit to these prophecies: the old ways of religion have become obsolete in the face of scientific discovery, and the end of the world occurring due to some paranormal force is simply impossible. If it were going to happen, it would have happened by now. Yet still, the prophecies persisted, their dates coming and going without a warning, or to be so far into the future that they escaped the notice of all but the few who believed them. It was, to the minds of some, only a matter of time before the Apocalypse happened…

And on the 12th of December 2012, at the stroke of midnight, it finally came to pass: the beginning of the end. Fire rained from a sky split apart by lightning, and the ground shook with unrivalled fury as the legions of the damned rose up from the depths of Hell to claim the human world for their own; their time finally at hand after untold millennia of waiting. Led by the Four Horsemen – Conquest, War, Famine and Death – they have swept across the world, ravaging cities and leaving naught by ruin in their wake.

The Apocalypse, feared by humankind throughout the ages, has come to claim the souls of the living, so that they may writhe in eternal damnation for their sins. The way to Heaven is closed, and now there can be nothing but suffering in mankind’s future. Once the Seven Seals are broken, the Lord of Hell will rise to walk amongst the ashes of civilisation, and despair shall reign until time itself ceases.

However, hope still remains for humanity, the faintest of glimmers in the darkness. Guided by the Archangel Lucifer, seven maidens of pure heart and spirit have been chosen to become mankind’s last, greatest hope, and their one defence between their species and extinction at the hands of the Four Horseman and the hordes of the damned, as guardians of the Seven Seals. By the Light of the Morning Star, they are the Seven Saints, and the fate of the world is in their hands.

Key Terminology and Personnel

The World Barrier

With the beginning of the Apocalypse, the World Barrier, that which was put into place by God at the moment of Creation, has come into view. Once a pure white, it is now a sickly yellow and blankets the sky, plunging the world into a state of perpetual twilight. As the World Barrier weakens, it becomes darker and more transparent until, finally, it will shatter, staining the sky a deep shade of crimson and allowing the legion of the damned – and ultimately the King of Hell himself – access to the mortal world. Already the legions of the damned have begun to cross where the Barrier is at its weakest and, whilst it is capable of sealing the gaps seconds after they are made, seconds are often enough for something to slip through the cracks…

Lucifer

First amongst the Archangels and second only to the Creator himself, Lucifer is the patron of The Seven Saints. Whilst not without considerable power of his own, Lucifer is forbidden from interfering in the affairs of the lower planes directly – after all, such a power force of good acting in the mortal world would allow an equally powerful force of evil to do the same; in everything there must be balance - yet he may still act as a guide of sorts for the Seven Saints he has chosen to guard the Seals and act as humanity’s saviours.

The Seven Saints and the Seven Seals

Those who have been chosen by Lucifer to do the will of God, the Seven Saints are the guardians of the Seven Seals, those which protect the world from the full force of the Apocalypse. As these seals must first be broken in order for the Ruler of Hell to manifest himself in the mortal world – an event which would culminate in the extinction of all life on the planet – the Seven Saints are all that stands between the world and destruction. By speaking the Words of Pact - “By the light of the Morning Star!” – one who has been chosen as a Guardian may ascend for a brief time, becoming a Saint.

Saints are each gifted with their own unique powers reflective of their own inner strength and personality; in combat, this makes them a terrifying force to be reckoned with for the Legion. All Saints possess the natural ability to repair rifts in the World Barrier and, whilst their power is weaker than that of the Four Horsemen, acting in harmony they are more than capable of banishing them back to the Hell from whence they came. This is their primary goal: removal of the Four Horsemen will result in a complete healing of the World Barrier, and those lesser demons which have broken through, cut off from their own source of power, will be instantly destroyed.

Saints draw upon the power of the Seals they guard for their strength and, as such, they have finite limits to their capabilities: drawing upon the Seals too much or too fast would result in their breaking, and thus render the Saint just a normal girl once again. Seals will deactivate automatically if too much power has been drawn or if the wielder has been in Saint Form for too long, so great care – yet a modest amount of haste – must be exercised. Seals take the form most convenient for the Saint that guards them, although this is normally in the form of an accessory, such as a locket or a wristwatch. The destruction of the Seal would result in the Saint becoming an ordinary human once more, and a weakening of the World Barrier.

Samael

Supreme Commander of the Legion, and right-hand man to the King of Hell, Samael, also known as the Angel of Death, The Seducer and The Destroyer, is very much Lucifer’s opposite: so long as his Archangel counterpart does not get directly involved in the affairs of mortals, neither can he. He can, however, direct his armies in the way that he deems necessary. His primary goal, of course, is the destruction of the Seven Seals, so that his master, the King of Hell, can break through the World Barrier and claim the mortal realm for his own.

The Four Horsemen

Commanders of the Legion who serve Samael, the Four Horsemen are all forces to be reckoned with, and are easily a match for the Seven Saints despised their smaller number. Whilst they had names of their own long ago, each has long been discarded, and have come to embody the concepts they have been re-named after. They are as follows:

Conquest, who rides a steed of purest white, is the youngest of the Four, having only recently ascended to the position. It is Conquest that led the charge into the mortal realm, and who has destroyed most of mankind’s cities. Wielding a bow of flames, whilst Conquest is the weakest of the Four, his power is not inconsiderable.

War, who rids a steed of burning red, is the second oldest of the Four, even though Famine stands above him. War is physically the most powerful of the Four: the more you attack him, the stronger he becomes. Wielding an impressive array of weaponry, War is the master of that which he has been named for, and as a tactician he is second to none.

Famine, who rides a rotting horse that has been charred black, is given a wide berth by the other three Horsemen, even Death, who stands above him. Famine’s very presence weakens all those around him, even others of his kind. Famine’s very touch is enough to kill, and it is no great surprise that he often rides alone.

Death, who rides a steed of iron grey, is the most infamous and the most deadly of the Four, and has seniority amongst them. A cloaked figure who wields a scythe as the legends tell, Death can call upon the full power of Hades, a pocket dimension within Hell where only the most twisted of souls end up; those whose crimes go beyond even the nine circles. Death commands soul energy of truly immense proportions which is unaffected by the strength of the World Barrier; Death has always had a presence in the mortal realm, which has only strengthened with the increased number of souls that have passed recently.

The Legion of the Damned

The collective name for the denizens of Hell, the Legion is a force of seemingly limitless numbers. They have but one mission: destruction. They are, for the most part, weaker demons, easily destroyed by the Seven Saints, as the World Barrier will not yet permit the stronger from crossing. The Legion does have a noticeable hierarchy, however, and some of those who wait within the depths of Hell rival even the Four in strength, and command legions of their own…

Notes

  • This RP will be set in a city ravaged by the Apocalypse…we’ll say Tokyo, because it’s always Japan that gets hit first by monster attacks and whatnot, and American cities are boring. This RP will start at around 1am on 12/12/12, and will continue on from there as we need it to. Your character may come from anywhere you wish, however they should have arrived in the city prior to the start of the Apocalypse.
  • At the start of the RP, only the First Saint will have her powers. Lucifer will find each of you in turn and bestow upon you your powers; please keep this in mind before you go transforming or trying to tackle demons. xD
  • The majority of demons will be NPCs; I’ll not object to you making cannon fodder or even stronger demons to battle, just as long as you don’t make something all-powerful and then kill it with ease. The Four Horsemen, if nobody takes them, will act as NPC bosses I’ll bring in when appropriate. Both Lucifer and Sammael will be NPCs regardless.
  • This is a magical girl inspired RP, which is why the premise is so painfully straightforward. But keep this in mind when designing your characters. I want to see flashy names for things! This will be as dark as Madoka Magica, with all the dramatic flair of Sailor Moon…and the cheesy one-liners of the dub of Tokyo Mew Mew. Let us have FUN~
  • There will be an Information thread for this RP at some point, which I shall construct as and when I get bios and make NPCs.

Rules

  1. All that stuff about godmodding, metagaming etc. goes here.
  2. If you’re going to participate in this RP, it shall be active participation. Expect to have to plan things out with others; I don’t allow cruising in my RPs.
  3. Please do try and be active. One post every three days isn’t too much to ask for, is it? Unless your internet cuts out or something, anyway. But do try and give prior notice. Keep in mind that I have no problem having Death harvest your soul and giving your Seal to someone else.
  4. Due to limited spaces, one Saint apiece unless I say otherwise. Unlimited number of villains if you want them, but there will be no Fallen Angels or Archangels in this RP, other than Samael and Lucifer respectively. Unless you have a VERY good idea, and then you can plead your case.
  5. As always, one strike and you're out. I don't let people screw around three times.

I'll put up a bio for this soon. It's going to be a ton of fun from what I can tell, and I'm going to enjoy making a magical girl for once :wacky:

Name: Thana Nevo

Alias: The Saint of Umbral Clutches

Age: 18

Place of birth: Tokyo, Japan

Power: Shadow

Abilities: Umbral Harmony: By stepping into dense shade, Thana can become completely invisible. Sharp movements or being struck will momentarily break this façade, and being knocked unconscious will remove it entirely.

Visio: In darkness with the slightest chink of light, Thana can see perfectly. In complete darkness, her vision immediately switches to infrared.

Celeri: Thana can move at very fast speeds in shade; up to three times that of a normal person.

Attacks: Prima Engulfa: Thana stretches her left hand back. Shadows flow to her left hand and gather into a sphere slightly smaller than her palm. At the centre a small white glow can be seen. After a second she throws the sphere a great distance at the enemy. The sphere will contract to a miniscule size upon making contact with physical matter, and will then create a deceptively large explosion.

Ribbons of Umbra: After a brief twirl, Thana releases a single ribbon from her hands. The ribbons on her dress change to a purple colour and detach, joining the already created ribbon. These ribbons snake rapidly through the air, and are capable of both tying up the enemy and squeezing tighter, causing suffocation. The surface of the ribbon itself burns like fire. The ribbons are also capable of being launched from her wand.

Dark Exsanguination: After a moderate channel time, Thana forms ten to fifteen black blades around the enemy. With a slice of her hand or wand through the air, the blades rapidly hone in on the enemy, piercing it with the blades. The blades will remain in the enemy until pulled out of the wound, upon which they disintegrate immediately.

Omega Denial: As the jewel on her Diviner glows with power, Thana slashes it over her head in complex patterns, releasing whips of purple energy which fly through the air, slicing and burning whatever they touch. She is capable of keeping up this onslaught for some time.

Alpha Vox: Taking the crystal from her Diviner, she holds it in her hands for several seconds, gathering energy within it before hurling it at the enemy. Upon making contact with the enemy, a huge antimatter explosion will issue from it. The crystal will reform after three posts, but seeing as this alone takes huge energy from Thana, she will be unlikely to use it again in a single transformation.

Diviner: Twilight Sceptre. A wand or sceptre is used as Thana’s magical weapon. It is approximately two feet tall and rather thin, the hilt made out of gold like material. The hilt itself extends into a pair of short golden blades that curve from the handle and become parallel to one another. Between the two blades rests a perfectly rounded dark purple gem, which glows when used for abilities.

Seal Form: A purple bracelet around her wrist

Transformation sequence: Holds her hands high above her head and intertwines her fingers as she leans back, closing her eyes as a sphere of darkness envelops her completely for several seconds, deflecting any physical attacks and most magical attacks for the duration. Her clothes are replaced by those listed in the section below and darkness gathers in her hands, which she twirls with a single hand before it forms her Diviner.

Civilian appearance: Taller than average at five foot seven, with a pale complexion and a heart shaped face. Black hair falls to just below her chin and is always kept untied. She has almond shaped, narrow eyes of a dark blue colour.

She has a curvy figure, maintaining a healthy figure and weight for her age, though she is at the cusp of underweight and average. She mostly favours dark clothes, including skin-tight black pants,a black-t-shirt, and a black leather jacket. In hotter weathers or just while relaxing where the black won’t do, she wears a white turtleneck top without sleeves and a white sundress.

Saint appearance: : A black dress, full of straps and belts, replaces her normal attire for the duration of her transformation. Her eyes change to a dark purple colour and her hair lengthens, extending to her middle back but becoming neater in exchange.

Several strands of translucent grey ribbon flow from the back of the dress, and she also grows large, black feathered wings. These wings can be damaged, and will vanish entirely if they take too much punishment, requiring them to be reformed over several posts.

Personality: Thana is somewhat pessimistic, despite being as young as she is. She is capable of seeing the good in things, but is more capable of seeing the negative. She is not easily amused, and even less easily impressed.

She shows a somewhat maternal side to those she trusts, or at least an older sister type role. She will protect them from any hardships, perceived or otherwise.

Oddly, one of the places she is happiest is in battle, and she can often be seen smiling whilst in battle. As a very pro human person, she despises demons and the Apocalypse in all its forms and wants to bring it to an end in any way she sees fit, To that end, she has adapted the ideal the the many are more important than the few, and will make sacrifices she deems necessary to save the world.

Having lived in a somewhat sheltered upbringing from a young age, Thana does not know some typical social graces. She deems them unnecessary, and believes what she has learned will be enough.

History: Born to American immigrants, Thana’s mother was a businesswoman; one of the richest in the country. She had high expectations for Thana, teaching her Japanese and English from a young age, educating her in complex math, and teaching her to suppress her emotions.

This would have been fine were it not for her father. A sick man, when her mother was out of the house, he would abuse her. Physically, mentally; and worst of all, sexually. This would always be followed up by whispers of “don’t tell Mommy.”

Of course, it took her many years to bring up the courage to tell her mother, but by that stage her mother was equally sick from suppressing her emotions her entire life. She blamed Thana for taking her father away from her; seducing her own father, and began to neglect her daughter, leaving her to the whims of her father.

When it was all about to become too much; when Thana was about to crack, the Apocalypse came. The Legions of Hell poured into the world, and her parents were one of the first to die by their hands. Feeling no grief for them; and feeling inhuman for feeling so cold, when Lucifer appeared to her, gave her a purpose and a meaning, it was a relief. There would be no more suppression of emotions. All of her anger; her hatred; her disgust. It would go towards destroying those that had maimed her earth.

Name: Lan Hiro

Alias: The blade of Badhbh Cath

Age: 17

Place of birth: Hanoi, Vietnam

Power: Spirit

Abilities:

Inhumane recovery: The spirit of those around him accelerates his healing to three times faster then what normal people can recover at. (i.e an injury that requires 3 weeks to heal will be healed in three days with the exception of death in any form.)

Sixth Sense: The spirit of the holder is honed to the point of detecting the presence of danger, but not the exact location. This also allows him to detect danger to his allies, abet to a weaker extent. (Only tells him if danger is near the person or not.)

Unyielding force: The spirits of the holder will keep the user from being knocked down easily. (I.e It's harder to knock the user down)

Attacks:

1. Wings of Rage: The spirits awaken and collect in the user's hands into the form of a crow that will home in on the enemy and strike them. The attack will also harm anything that is in it's path of the target.

2. Wings of Eclipse: The spirits awaken and surrounds the user with a pair of wings, reducing all forms of damage and making it harder for the user to be knocked down. However, if an attack is powerful enough or a person attacks long enough, the power will fade. (i.e to negate the shield, the attack has to be as strong as highway speed (50mph) car crash.) While Wings of Eclipse is out, Unyielding Force is negated and will become active once Wings of Eclipse is gone.

3. Shadow Spirits: The spirits of the fallen enemy collects under the user. From there, the user can either send it to one enemy or a group of enemies causing damage. The unique property of this particular ability is that the spirits must be collected first and it can be saved for later battles.

4. Spear of Light/God: A spear of light forms above his head before shooting out at the user's enemy, causing an explosion at the point of impact. This acts just like Wings of Rage, but it can't home in on a person. If the user were to use their Diviner, it will create a stronger spear of light that will result in a bigger explosion. The diviner will return to the user after Spear of God is used.

5. Fury of Light: A short charging time is required. During that time, multiple spirits is absorb into the user before launching towards the enemies' general location. It will only launch out if the enemy is within a spear's length of them.

Diviner: Caliburn. A two handed sword with the appearance of the spear. The handle is shorten while the blade is elongated. The hilt is silver with gold riming on it. The blade is also colored silver.

Seal Form: The Seal is in the form of a necklace that looks like a pair of angel wings with a spear in between the wings

Transformation sequence: The necklace glows before a blast of light erupts around the user, knocking anyone within grabbing range back. When the blast fades, a portal opens just in front of the user as the Diviner shoots upward, hilt first into the user's hands.

Civilian appearance:

hot-anime-guy--large-msg-122696874012.jpg

Lan wears a standard Japanese school uniform shirt and pants that is black. The inner shirt is white. He stands at 6 feet and weights 175 pounds with brown hair and piercing blue eyes. He is slim with a slight muscle tone to it.

Saint appearance: Lan, in his Saint form, wears a one sleeved Robe. The left side is the side without the sleeve while the the right side has a metal gauntlet as a sleeve. The robe is easy to move in and allows maximum flexibility. Wings sprout from his back as it glows slightly. If the wings fade from damage, it will take a while to regenerate. (Generally around 6 post)

Personality: Lan is a causal guy who is calm in most part. While he is optimistic, he is also a realist who knows when something is impossible and he will act on it. He is also loyal. But one must earn his friendship before he can trust them and in term become loyal to them.

History: Native born to Vietnam, Lan's life was one of hardship and the constant threat of poverty reminded him harshly of that. He learned very early that everything he wanted, he would have to either work for or improve his knowledge to obtain. To that end, he enrolled into school and studied extremely hard learning English and Japanese as well. When he was not studying, he was helping out at the family diner as a dish washer and cook.

Things were going fine as Lan fell into the lifestyle. Until the day before that Apocalypse came. They were spending one well earned vacation at the beach when an explosion blasted him away from the mainland, also knocking him out. His unconscious body drifted until it hit Japan. A couple found him on a beach. Taking pity on him, the couple took him back to their location/bunker.

Waking up, Lan found himself looking at the couple. Quickly asking about the situation, they told him about the Apocalypse and the beings that came from no where. He asked about the whereabouts of his family, which they told him that they found him by himself. It was then that he realized that he would have to find them. He stood up and looked outside. Nothing will stop him from reuniting with his family. He will make sure of that.

Not to pseudo mod but Saints are exclusively female. You're likely to get rejected using a male.

I did say that this was going to be magical girl based...

Diar, you're accepted. Levont, you aren't; Saints are female only, and for the moment there is no room for bishounen. Maybe next time, though...

My bio will be up when it's up, my laptop screen died last night and I need to get it repaired; read my blog, blah blah blah.

I will reserve water for now though; I'm going to make a new character. If the remaining two slots aren't taken by the end of the week, Diar and I shall take them...I want to make a Poppy as well now anyway so it might as well be one slot; I have so many ideas running through my head...

If possible, I'd like to start over the weekend, but there is no rush; I can't dedicate the time I need to RPs until my laptop comes back.

Name: Alyss Aldan

Alias: The Saint of Tempest Lightning

Age: 18

Place of birth: London, England

Power: Generation and control of lightning

Abilities: Shock - Due to the nature of her powers, she can no longer touch anyone without accidentally shocking them. The shock itself is non-lethal, but causes a bit a pain.

Recharge – When holding an object powered by electricity, whenever she holds it, it tends to be fully powered while it’s in her hands

Attacks: Discharge – Either from her staff or from her fingertips, she unleashes screams of lightning towards the enemy. Range is limited at 10 meters in front of her. (She typically never says the name of this one.

Orbis Shock – Using her staff, she makes invisible orbs of lightning that she can use as mines to use on unsuspecting opponents. (Due to the stealthy nature of this ability, she never says the name of this attack while using it.)

Drill Smasher – She lifts her staff in the air and is struck by four bolts of lightning. From there she points her staff at her target and unleashes a large single bolt of electricity. The bolt of electricity is enough to kill most things in one hit. It generates enough heat to melt stone. (However, after using this, she’s essentially done in combat as it’s her most powerful attack. After using it, it tends to bring her instantly out of Saint Form. If her move fails to kill her target…)

Teleportation – This only works if she can see the location where she’s teleporting. Even then, it only works if the location she wants to teleport to is under the open sky. She casts a lightning bolt in the air. From there, she goes along with it to the area it hits. The downside to this is that everyone knows where she went to. If she wants to use it stealthily, it has to be in the middle of a thunderstorm.

Lightning bolts – She can cause lightning to strike from the skies at a target. She can also control them and direct them.

Diviner: Plabora – A large staff

Seal Form: A necklace in the shape of a crescent moon. When she wears it, she tends to tuck it inside her shirt so no one can see it.

Transformation sequence: When she transforms into her Saint Form, lightning tends to strike her. If indoors, all electricity flows into her from any electrical object. It surrounds her body completely. Once it ends, she comes out in Saint Form.

Civilian Appearance:
technocrat_1337130684.jpg

Alyss stands at around 5’4, making her rather short, but not overly so. Her eyes are a bright emerald green, and her hair is a ruby red. She has a very slender frame, making her a bit more fragile than most. She hates showing any sort of skin at all, which is why she wears what she wears. Her blouse is a long sleeved button down blouse. She wears black arm garters on both of her sleeves around her upper arms. She wears a black tie that is tucked into a dark grey vest. Her skin is rather pale.

Her skirt is a long red skirt that is parted in the middle. The skirt extends down to a bit below the backs of her knees. Under her skirt she wears a pair of black pants. Her boots have a one inch heel to them. Overall, she is highly formal in appearance. Her long red hair is straight, and goes down to her bottom. There are times she sits on it if she’s not careful. She wears a pair of thin rimmed glasses, and she has a hard time seeing without them.

Saint Appearance:
technocrat_1337281082.jpg

When she changes form, the first thing that most people notice is that her hair gets significantly longer. Other than that, there isn’t much change. Her clothes are the exact opposite of what she would normally wear. Instead of her clothes being formal, loose, and not showing anything, her clothes are tight, informal, and reveal much more than she would like. She wears red thigh high stockings, her thighs are completely revealed. Her shoes are heels that go to four inches that she finds difficult to walk in, much less run. Her skirt is much too short, revealing too much. Her arms are covered, but the fabric is too tight for her to actually like it.

All in all, she hates her Saint Form and wants to change out of it as soon as possible after getting in it.

Personality: Alyss can be rather shy, and as such can be extraordinarily quiet. She tends to push people away most of the time. She is cold, brutally honest, and arrogant. Of course, this is all a front for the most part. She simply doesn’t enjoy the company of others much at all. For the most part, she is a spoiled brat. She tends to think rather logically, but when angered she lets her emotions get the best of her every time. She holds herself rather highly, and doesn’t particularly enjoy taking orders.

Around new people, she’ll be quiet if they’re nice. But she’s far too untrusting to say much at first. If they’re rude or mean, she’ll open up against them, typically in an insulting manner. Once someone does get to know her, she can be rather polite, and if she likes them enough, she won’t mind doing favors for them or treating them kindly. Though, to those she doesn’t like, it’s a side of her that they will never see.

To those that do know her well enough to be on her good side, they find that she can still be rather arrogant and still hold herself highly, but she tends to not do so as much. She enjoys being right, and she absolutely cannot stand being inferior to anyone else. Most find that they simply cannot stand her due to how she speaks and holds herself. She refuses to use contractions and speaks with a high class sort of tone in her voice. However, most find once they break down that wall, they will find a good friend in her.

One of the oddest quirks about her is that she cannot stand being touched. She doesn’t fear it, but she can’t stand it. She never lets anyone get close enough to do it. When touched she will jerk back almost instinctively. Even though she won’t admit it to anyone, she is a lesbian, and cannot stand being near or around men. To a certain degree, she is also submissive and can be a masochist. However, that’s a truth even she refuses to admit even to herself.

History: Alyss moved from London to Japan rather recently. With her family’s money, she was able to get a nice apartment on her own to live somewhere she’s always wanted for quite some time. In Japan, she studies at the University in marine biology. She speaks the language, but most people find that even with her speaking another language she can still manage to sound bratty. In her few months in Japan she has memorized many of the local places around her.

Her family sends her all the money she needs and she keeps in contact with them, but she has no family nor friends in Japan at all.

(History is short because I’ve written her history a million times, damn it. Cut me a break here. :hmph: )

Character Theme:

Battle Theme:

DIBS ON FIRE. Bio will be edited here when I write it. Expect it on Friday night or Saturday depending on which day I pick to kill myself with homework!

Rejected, Ringo. Write a proper history :edd:
/shot
[strike]just kidding, ilu really, etc etc[/strike]

Closing sign-ups for now; if you want to take part, you missed your chance at being a Saint. Still plenty of villains left available, though!

I'll reserve water and wind for my sister Saints. Diar, if you still want that last slot, you may have it.

Name: Haruka Edgling

Alias: The Saint of Necessary Brutality.

Age: 17

Place of birth: Tokyo: Japan

Power: Firearm control.

Abilities: Resistance: As a result of handling the ultimate killing weapons, Haruka has become resistant to all sources of damage, taking 50% reduced damage from all sources of damage, including explosions, bullets, punches, and magic. This ability disables if she sustains much damage, however, leaving her vulnerable.

Hawkeye: Haruka can see approximately three times the distance of an average human with complete clarity, also possessing perfect 20/20 vision.

Attacks: Athena's Future: Haruka converts Aspect of Death: Black and Aspect of Death: White into a slightly larger, two handed gun that shoots a heated laser from its barrel before splitting again. Consumes four bullets from Aspect of Death: Black and Aspect of Death: White

Perforation Frenzy: Haruka converts Aspect of Death: Black and Aspect of Death: White into a submachine gun which fires a hail of bullets equal to 150% of the guns's total remaining bullets, due to the smaller bullets in the submachine gun. If the number is uneven, it will be rounded up prior to splitting. Haruka must reload after using this ability, and the gun will split into two again immediately following the use of this ability.

Piercing Round: Haruka converts Aspect of Death: Black and Aspect of Death: White into a shotgun, combining the remaining bullets into one clip. Each shot from this shotgun will take two bullets, and when the number of bullets reaches either one or zero, it will forcibly convert back into the Aspects of Death.

Eyrie of the Violent One: Haruka converts Aspect of Death: Black and Aspect of Death: White into a sniper rifle for long ranged assaults. These bullets have a heavy impact, and create moderately sized explosions upon impact with the enemy. Will split back into the Aspects of Death if she runs out of bullets.

Cataclysm Surge: Haruka converts Aspect of Death: Black and Aspect of Death: White into a huge bazooka and aims it carefully before firing, creating an incredibly huge explosion, enough to take down a plane. This explosion is increased further in damage and power for each bullet she has in her arsenal when she fires. This attack will remove all remaining bullets in the Aspects of Death and immediately end Haruka's transformation, so it is mainly a finishing move or last resort.

Diviner: Aspects of Death: Two revolvers, one black, one white. They fire magical bullets, hold ten bullets per clip each, and when exhausted or simply when she wishes to restock her bullets, takes a while to reload. Each of her abilities remove a certain amount of bullets, and she cannot use any abilities when her clips are empty. When empty, the guns will vanish, and reform when reloaded.

Seal Form: A ring in civilian form. A hairclip in Saint form.

Transformation sequence: Haruka hovers several inches off the ground as a pink light envelops her. Her ring floats off her finger and disintegrates into streams of pink light as her hair floats up, becoming more neat and silky. Finally the streams of light form a golden hairclip which attaches to her hair. The pink light enveloping her flows off, revealing her Saint outfit. Two streams of light form in the air and mold themselves into revolver shapes, which she catches effortlessly.

Civilian appearance: Average at five foot five and slender. Despite her name, Haruka is white, looking like a typical Western citizen, if a little tan. She has long brown hair which hangs in a tangled mess around her shoulders and blue eyes.

She wears ripped jeans, a white shirt with ripped sleeves and scuffed white sneakers. She has an ear piercing in the shape of the kanji symbol for demon hanging from her left ear.

Saint appearance: Skintight black pants replace her ripped jeans. Her hair becomes significantly more neat and silky, and her eyes change color to a vivid gold. On her torso she wears a black dress shirt and sprouts retractable golden wings. A white silk cap appears on her head.

Personality: The outward display from Haruka is that of a bubbly teenager. She always has a happy word to say to most people and will always encourage positive thinking and teamwork. She treasures her friends highly and is extremely dedicated to them if they stand by her and earn her trust. She will often tell jokes and try to raise everyone's spirit, even if she herself is feeling anything but cheerful.

Haruka is also incredibly flirtatious and shows an attraction to both genders. She will often make passing comments about those she meets when she is interested in them, such as small compliments on their appearance and expressing her infatuation in a joking manner.

In truth, Haruka is an extremely scared teenager thrust into a world she doesn't know anything about. The slightest challenge, threat to her friendships, or attack on her personality is likely to break her. Whether a large or small breakdown is dependent on just how much she hurts.

History: Born to a pair of American immigrants, Haruka's parents were determined to raise her in the typical Japanese style. She was taught the culture, language, and customs of her home country, and was expected to act like a typical dutiful woman, even if such customs had become dead in Japan in recent times.

While it worked when she was a child, she began to act out as a teenager. The strict rules enforced by her parents made her turn cold to them, while becoming emotionally open to her friends only. She would dress in revealing clothes, flirt with men and women alike, and disobey rules; staying out after curfew, experimenting with drugs and the like.

However, the Apocalypse came when she was at the peak of her rebellion. She wasn't in her house when it was destroyed, but she came back to the wreckage, her parents dead and everything she knew shattered. Deep regret pierced her for a second, before she resolved to stow her grief for later and focus on surviving; and revenge on the demons who had taken everything from her.

Interesting, Diar. That'll do nicely :ryan:

I...have almost finished my bios. They'll be up in time to start...hopefully the day I get my laptop back. But since we're still waiting for a couple more, who knows. Same goes for Checkmate, which I need to post in :gasp:

Dragon King, the major villains in this will be the Four Horsemen and Samael, who I'm going to leave as NPCs. Any other villains in this RP would be minor antagonists; lesser demons that have broken through the World Barrier and are wreaking merry hell, etc. In this RP at least, there won't be any rivalling male villains for the protagonists to contend with~

Name: Kyoko Adachi
Alias: The Saint of the Fiery Heavens
Age: 17
Place of birth: Tokyo, Japan
Power: Fire manipulation and generation
Abilities:
Fireproof: Kyoko cannot be burned or hurt by fire. Standing in a bonfire wouldn't hurt her in the slightest, though her clothing may suffer if she doesn't make a conscious effort to save it.

Energy Barrier: When angered or scared, Kyoko subconsciously generates a low ring of fire on the ground around her to act as a barrier.

Attacks:

Sparkling Prism Power: Kyoko removes the gem from the top of her scepter, charging it with fire, and flings it into an enemy. Can be used with varying amounts of power, as detailed in the Diviner section

Blazing Spectrum: With a wave of her hand, Kyoko directs a stream of fire onto the ground, making a controlled wall. The center of the wall burns a bright white, with the color dropping through her power levels outwards. The height and width of the wall varies by cast, with larger ones requiring more energy to sustain.

Gleaming Meteor Burst: Concentrating for a brief second, Kyoko fires a ball of fire from either her right hand or the tip of Sundisk, igniting whatever is hit and dealing damage in a small explosion radius. Low to moderate power level only.

Shining Inferno: Kyoko lets forth a stream of fire from her hand, burning everything it comes in contact with and continuing until she runs out of energy or stops it herself. Intensity varies.

Diviner: Sundisk ; a black scepter with a large gem on top. The gem changes colors depending on the amount of magic being used, with red signifying low power, orange for a moderate amount, yellow for high, and white for intense. The gem can be detached and used as a catalyst to start large blazes or as a throwing weapon, though the scepter itself possesses very little power without the gem on top. Sundisk refers to the gem itself more than the scepter as a whole.

Seal Form:
A red gemstone-covered clip used to hold back her hair

Transformation sequence:
Kyoko closes her eyes and thrusts her hands out in front of her as the clip holding her hair back comes loose. The clip sparkles as streams of fire envelop her, with her clothing changing into a fully black outfit with red and white accents. Her hair clip forms into the gem on top of Sundisk before nestling itself into the black scepter she now holds in her left hand.

Civilian appearance: Kyoko is of Japanese descent, short at 5'2”. Her black hair reaches to the middle of her back, and she considers it her best feature, keeping it pulled back with a clip but never swept up entirely unseen. With a slender frame, Kyoko looks small and delicate.

As for attire, she's a bit of a diva. Her family is well off and she abuses that when buying clothes, preferring only the best. Turning her nose up at jeans, Kyoko generally wears short skirts with thin, brightly colored tops, and completes the outfit with strappy, impractical high heeled shoes. In some situations, the short skirt can be traded for high quality tailored black pants.

Saint appearance: here (Credit to Vladimirthecrimsonreaper on tumblr; full image is right here. She said I could use it, but I had to credit, so I am~ )

Contrasting her normal appearance, Kyoko's saint appearance consists of mostly black. A short, pleated skirt with high stockings cover her lower half, as well as black ankle boots with silver buckles. Her shirt is plain and red, with a black jacket over it. The jacket has an additional layer over the shoulders, tying at the neck and covering her shoulders and upper arms with black pads, edged in white. Her wrists are covered with the jacket's semi-tight sleeves, a white band striped with red acting as some protection. The final part of her outfit is a black and red hat covering part of her beloved hair. Her wings do not appear at first, though they're there in an instant when she needs them. The feathers of Kyoko's wings are a deep orange on the edges, fading in to white as the feathers become closer to her back.

Personality: As befitting of a fire user, Kyoko's temper is barely contained at most times. She's a very emotional, passionate person, unlikely to censor her feelings for anyone. Immature as a general rule, she throws a hissy fit when someone tells her no.

Pushing everyone away, she prefers to be alone with her own thoughts and volatile emotions. Playing nice is within her limits, but only if it's going to benefit her in the foreseeable future. Her parents' money has spoiled her and done nothing to teach her how to act, making her into a perfect example of a spoiled little rich girl.

History: Since Kyoko was born, she's gotten exactly what she wanted. Her parents have wanted nothing but the best for their baby girl, and she never grew emotionally as a result. When she was fairly young, her family moved around a lot, never giving her a chance to settle in and make friends. The damage done by never growing close to anyone is showing itself now that she's older, as she becomes more antisocial and shoves everyone away.

Just finished with her standard schooling, she has no plans for a future, instead wanting to take each day as its own and continue that way until her parents decide to cut off her supply of money – something unlikely to happen.

She tends to wander from place to place in her current town, looking for things to do that don't require interaction with others every day. When the Apocalypse struck, Kyoko was sitting in an arcade, playing a mindless game in the mostly dark room. The power to the room cut out, and Kyo left shortly after, walking quickly back to her house, knowing something was wrong by the chaos starting in the streets. Only her mother returned home, and insisted that Kyoko stay in until her father returned. He hasn't, and she's beginning to think that he won't at all.
