[SU/D] Balamb Garden

Well I can't make my post going to sleep when one of my characters was trying to interact with another, only to be flat out ignored. I say just make the time skip, don't bother waiting for others to make sleeping posts.

ahhhhh, fair enough, well your idea on the time skip now, might work, the people who aren't in bed can just stick it in their post that they go to sleep.

The house move is complete, and I have the internet back :awesome: Really sorry for the wait, people. I am back now though so we can maybe look to push on.

Sir Fratley is right. Forget the time skip - waiting for other people to post is going to be pointless. How would people feel about this? I'm happy to post next, ignoring the time skip and just getting on with it.

Thanks again for your patience.

Oh, and on a side note. Gavin, if you don't think Aaron is happy to play Squall due to the way you want to interact with him, would you like me to PM him to see if he even wants to carry on? If he doesn't, there's the possibility of you playing Squall if you want to take that on?

I don't mind playing with unrequited love. But if it turns out that later on he loses interest then i'd be glad to take on the role. Quite possibly due to the lack of posting he has made, this may already be the case. As for skipping ahead, go ahead and do it. It seems like some people have vanished so skip ahead to the next day and give everyone a fresh start.

I'm up for the time Sip, quite happy to get on with posting now and just getting on with it, I just hope everyone has had a chance to check out the covert ops of my character, as i am going to be using it in the Rp quite a bit.

Well, with Farro back in buisiness, I think a quick PM to the players would be in order so we can ascertain who is still in and possibly open signups if we find that number to be lacking and assume that posts made by players are going to stay unless said post reads otherwise.

Ehh I like playing squall alright along with my other character so playing them isn't a problem for me xD

As for the going forward I'd like to keep this going since it was doing so well before some people dropped off the map :/.

RP's on here need to have a additional piece of info required when signing up for a RP

Activity on the Forums: On once a Day, Once a Week, More than once a day.

the activity level of people varies quite alot, for instance the only reason i am currently sat inside on a sunday instead of chilling with friends is because i have the hangover from hell, but normally i would be with mates having a laugh by this time on a sunday, activity varies, and lets get this RP back in business.

Also, the level of activity of members doesn't equal more reply output. For example, some people could simply fuck around and read threads, and not reply.

Plus, that'd lead to discrimination over activity on the site... And if the world's history is anything to go about, Discrimination is bad.

indeed you are correct Cc, Discrimination is bad, and if we start putting things like that in a sign-up then it ends up causing rifts in the forum, people not staying because people are discriminating against them, and as you said peoples activity doesn't coincide with their post rate, there are SB spammers, who slender post, and then people like me who check in 2-4 times a day and post whenever i can without spamming the RP, but your username reflects you CC, you are indeed a Clever cookie.

anyway, i have made a post, and will be adding to it as and when i can indeed.

Discrimination in this world is bad, yes, but there does need to be some control when it comes to RPs. Nothing annoys me more than when you're talkign to somone and they disappear. Once or twice for valid reasons is okay but when its consistent, there's a problem. Likewise, some people are prone to instigating problems by godmodding, metagaming and other things. Again, consistency is the keyword here. One or two trespasses are okay but when its constant there's a problem. But this is not the thread ot be discussing it.

Post-wise, it will probably be either late tonight or tomorrow night when I get a chance.

Good point, "Gav"... But really, isn't a section for Activity level a tad bit overboard? Are you supposed to change it every time your life decides "I'm busy this week"?

If somebody is a notorious "Bailer" then discrimination is somewhat needed for the greater good of the roleplay, but to inforce people to specfically state when they come on is pretty OTT. In an extreme case you'd get some person or another who veto's a member out of a roleplay, just because they weren't on "as much as they stated".

Godmod's, metagamer's etc. are another story entirely.

Anyway, sorry for off topic rabble. I think it loops in with the idea of "Disscussion" though.

Kaine'll be up in a few hour's, by the way... When his puppeteer gets through college grant forms.

Honestly, if there were an activity level section, it should only apply to if you are going for a main role. Side roles can usually be edited out or possibly even nonexistent. But again, like CC said, it's variable so you can't expect people to always be on the same way they started.

Post-wise, it seems ill be staying late tonight at uni because of ride's bf so I might not get my post out tonight, But I'm off tomorrow so it will be done by the end of tomorrow.

CC, I tend to agree with what you're saying. It perhaps is a bit much to ask people to state when they're active, and perhaps for how long each time. Posting in the RP then starts to seem like a chore which it shouldn't be. People should be posting because they want to. Not just because it's their shift, so to speak.

Again, like CC, I agree with what you're saying - as long as I've understood it properly :awesome:

Perhaps in the future it will be best to make people aware that main roles will require people to be as active as possible. It makes sense. Main roles require more posting, which in turn means the person playing the part of said main character will need to be quite active.

On another note, later on today I will be sending PM's around to people (again) to make them aware of the night skip being over and to ask them if they want to carry on or not.

well I have already posted once after the time skip and just awaiting people to post so i can get on with a bit of training, giving my Covert Ops gear a run out, first time with this fighting style in an Rp as im trying to broaden my horizon's in RP's and am just working through a couple of idea's at the moment. but im ready and waiting

Gavin is turning out to be far more of a complex character than I expected him to be. Then again, he started out as just another character in an XXX yaoi so I think it's good. That and it's nice to see this RP flourishing - most of the others are floundering.
