Final Fantasy X:
Felonies of the Past

Final%20Fantasy%20X.jpg

It began with the Machina War.

Spira’s biggest nations, Bevelle and Zanarkand, fought over to see who had the best machina. Jealous of each other’s overwhelming power, war ensued between them and threatened to destroy the world. The rest of Spira were left to ponder their fate.

As a result of the abuse of the machina, Sin appeared. It came from the sky and descended upon Zanarkand, obliterating an entire city with its omnipotent power. Bevelle, fearing the same fate, withdrew its use of machina and turned to the teachings of Yevon, which soon became their only religion.

And so the time of the summoners came.

Following in the path of Lady Yunalesca, summoners would travel on a pilgrimage throughout Spira to the temples of Yevon and pray in the hope that they were worthy of receiving the Final Aeon. Only the Final Aeon alone would be able to defeat Sin and bring ten years of peace – known as the Calm – to Spira from its terrifying ways.

One thousand years have passed since Sin’s birth. A summoner and his guardians travel Spira’s temples to defeat Sin, hoping that they can finally put the felonies of the past behind them.

Rules

No godmodding, powerplaying, metagaming, etc. Those who join must be used to these by now. If not, look them up!

Keep all OOC (Out Of Character) in this thread and IC (In Character) in the main RP thread.

Good English grammar and punctuation are most certainly a requirement.

Romance is encouraged. We need a bit of that every now and again, right?

Comedy is most certainly encouraged as well! Now what kind of RP doesn’t have some light-hearted fun here and there?

Character themes in the template must have lyrics, whilst the battle one should be instrumental.

The RP creator’s word is FINAL!

Essentially a C&P of my last bio, it should still be usable here...

Gender:
Female

Race:
Human

Class:
Warrior

Weapon:
Sword

Skills/Spells:
Cheer, Power Break

Hometown:

Personality:
Ariel is a strong-willed individual. While she acts like a tomboy most of the time, Ariel is a caring individual and shows a hidden sweet side. Ariel shows little confidence in making major decisions as a result of her decisions costing the life of a summoner that she failed to protect. Despite this, she is a somewhat talkative person, despite her failings.

Ariel is slow to anger, though she does seem to get annoyed from time to time. Once angered it's difficult to calm her down.

Appearance:

Bio:
Ariella was born in Kilika, her father was a Crusader and her mother was a devout Yevonite. As a child, she was taught how to fight at a young age, to defend herself against the fiends that prowled the forests of the island.

Six years ago, through her travels back and forth from the temple that she met with a young summoner. Wanting to prove herself and be a legendary hero among the people of Spira. Ariella requested and was accepted to be her guardian.

Through her travels, Ariella learned much about the world of Spira as she traveled with the summoner through her pilgrimage. But due to a lack in judgment and inexperience in battle, the summoner that she was supposed to protect was killed in front of her eyes, an event that traumatized Ariella to this day.

Since then, Ariella went on to Bevelle where she served as a member of the Bevelle Guard for some time, eventually leaving the group to return home to Kilika, this is where her story begins...

/repost because I'm lazy

Name:
Caelia Monclair

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Race: Human

Class: White mage

Weapon(s): A small moogle doll is Caelia's weapon of choice, though she can also use a staff to amplify and channel her magic through. She has named her doll Mocchi after a toy she had as a child,

Skills/Spells: White Mage – Cure, Esuna, Protect

Hometown: Luca; living in Kilika as an apprentice to the priestess of Kilika temple

Personality: Caelia is loud and obnoxious, the exact opposite of what you’d expect from a priestess-in-training. She speaks her mind without thinking of the consequences, occasionally landing herself in some sticky situations, but she also refuses to let someone else dig her out of her self-made holes. Preferring to fail on her own than get help from another since a young age, Caelia is a very independent person, but she also does not look down on those who would ask for help when they need it and is often glad to offer whatever aid she can provide. Many people are shocked when this loud, rude, bubbly girl tells them that she’s going to be a priestess, but she just smiles and tells them that things aren’t always what they seem and not to underestimate her. Cae's also a bit of a flirt at times, even though she never goes past the flirting stage.

Though she is rarely serious, when the situation calls for it, she switches gears quickly, and even while acting rude and loud on the outside, the exact opposite could be going on in her mind and no one would know, as she’s learned to hide her true feelings extremely well.

Appearance:
1184162286_InvisableAnimeGirl.jpg

Silver hair hangs down nearly to Caelia’s waist in slightly tangled waves, and covers her right eye usually. Occasionally she’ll add a streak of bright color to the part of her hair covering her eye, but not always. While in battle, she pulls her hair back from her face with a small white clip to stop it from blocking her vision. Her eyes are a dark grey color, nearly matching her hair’s tone at times, and tend to look very glassy, as though she is about to cry. Pale skin completes her light coloring, though her cheeks are often a bright pink or pale red from her energetic antics.

Caelia could be called rather short, at 4’11”, but she never minds this and makes up for her small size with her large and loud personality. She has a very slim and petite build and almost looks like a small, delicate doll.

Attire: Bright colors are Caelia’s thing, and she tends to match her colors to the streak in her hair of the week. If the splash of color on her head is orange, she’ll wear bright shades of yellow, pink, red, and other warm colors to compliment it. If it’s green, she might go for earthy colors, or she might decide on cool colors instead. Her attire changes as quickly as her hair, and her hair changes as her mood does. Even though the colors of her clothing change frequently, the general layout of her clothing does not. She favors a tight, short skirt with leggings under it and large, clunky boots on her feet. On her upper half, she wears a too-large cap-sleeved shirt with the excess material tied in a knot behind her back, turning it into a much tighter shirt than was originally intended.

Around her neck always is a thin golden chain with a gold ring hanging on it. She rarely, if ever, removes this.

Bio: Caelia comes from a normal family in Luca, with a mother who works in the marketplace selling fabric dyes, a father who is a security guard at the blitzball stadium, and a younger brother who is currently in school. She lived a happy life with them in Luca until the age of 12, when she met the priestess of Kilika temple and was offered a chance to study healing and the ways of Yevon in the temple there. Several weeks later, when the priestess was leaving Luca, Caelia begged her parents to allow her to travel back to Kilika with the woman. After a long argument, they gave in, and Caelia packed her bags to leave, only returning home to Luca once or twice a year.

Cae's life in Kilika was much different than in Luca, quieter and calmer, but also more difficult in many ways. The ways of the temple took some adjusting to, especially since Luca didn't have a temple of its own. The priestess of Kilika temple, Liseli Aranei, has done her best to help Caelia out, but it's hard to help someone who prefers to do things on their own. After nearly 4 years at the temple, Caelia is growing restless and Liseli worries that the girl wishes to leave and strike out on her own before her training is complete.

I contemplated making a wholly new character at first, but I may as well stick with Celviev because she was quite interesting to write about. :lew:
______________________

Name: Celviev (pron: Sel-vee-ave)
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Race: Human, Al Bhed
Class: Warrior
Weapon: Machina-enhanced sword
Skills/Spells: Melee combat
Hometown: Home, Bikanel Island

Personality: Born into a society that has for generations found insatiable fascination in Machina and engineering, Celviev has inherited the common Al Bhed character trait of curiosity. Whenever she encounters a Machina with workings initially unknown to her, she frequently pauses whatever commitments she is previously occupied with to examine how the machination functions. It is perhaps this constant search for answers to quench her curiosity that has lent her such prowess in the developing of her own Machina using whatever useful parts she could salvage from the harsh, unforgiving deserts beyond that of Home. When engaged in thinking, she often mutters audibly to herself at great length, a habit that often irritates others around her.

For much of her life, she has dwelled only on Bikanel Island itself, and her curiosity of Machina soon extends into a curiosity for the rest of Spira. She is very much aware of the fact that their home is only a tiny part of the world and that the rest of Spira around her could be the home of many things illustrious and wonderful, be it new people or simply new Machina to inspect. As a result, she initially appears to be a little ignorant of the world whenever she is on the Spiran mainland and does not hesitate to inquire as often and as thoroughly as she desires even if it means annoying her listener. When learning of how the rest of Spira functions and the importance of the highly theocratic Order of Yevon, she quickly grows particularly suspicious of those around her on the Spiran mainland, particularly when it comes to the issue of Spiran suspicions towards the reclusive Al Bhed race. Celviev eventually grows curious as to what drives a summoner to sacrifice themselves just to attain the Calm. Her understanding of a summoner’s determination and comradeship remains undeveloped as she strives to discover more of why anyone would wish to be a summoner.

In terms of demeanour, Celviev is often kept to herself, reluctant to openly discuss to others of her own life, her origins and her goals in life. Beyond this rather reserved behaviour and her initial suspicions towards those not of Al Bhed blood, she harbours considerable kindness and often helps out another individual out of will. She optimistically bears hope that the Al Bhed can one day integrate with the rest of Spira peacefully and that their supposed “sacrilegious” practices would one day be overlooked. It is her staunch curiosity and defence of the Al Bheds’ “sacrilegious” practices that allows her to view Yevon with deep suspicion and soon even loathing. She appears to convince herself on a regular basis that Yevon cannot be trusted and that there is nothing worse than a theocratic body establishing a 1000 year old order on the populace not to indulge in Machina, and a theocratic body that is uncompromisingly hostile to the Al Bhed.

Appearance: As with her Al Bhed brethren, she shares genetic traits typical of them, such as the vivid yellow-blonde hair and the piercing emerald, swirly eyes. Her hair extends to her elbows and tied back to form an elegant ponytail. Her ears are pierced with small emerald teardrop-shaped earrings with a simple necklace of dulled gold around her neck. She is of average height for an Al Bhed woman of her age, approximately 5’6” in height and with a relatively slim frame. Her skin is moderately tanned, reflective of Bikanel Island’s climate.

Attire: She is equipped with what appears to be a simple, silver undergarment underneath a more armoured battle attire pragmatic enough for most battles. A sleeveless combat jacket is worn over it with a gold zip and the collar kept up, a regal purple and white in colour combination. The jacket itself comes equipped with at least six sizeable pockets that are used to store her inventory that Celviev considers to be useful in combat. She wears a short black leather skirt with a belt tightly around her waist and knee-length high purple/white boots. Her right arm sports a silver armband with mysterious cryptic symbols etched upon it, believing it to be an ancient form of Al Bhed writing.

Bio: In terms of childhood, Celviev’s was nothing out of the ordinary. Born into a relatively prosperous Al Bhed family in Home on Bikanel Island, she was quickly introduced into an art familiar with most Al Bhed; the salvaging and tinkering of Machina. Fortunately for Celviev, this was something she naturally grew fascinated in and would often prowl the deserts to search for its rich resources of Machina parts by the age of eight. Tragedy almost struck when a desert wyrm unceremoniously made its presence known to the young Celviev and nearly devoured the helpless child until she was rescued by her father, a proficient swordsman. Ever since such a close encounter with death, her father grew staunchly determined to teach Celviev the ways of the sword and she would be subjected to hours of training per day to perfect the techniques necessary to defend herself against any fiend that was determined to inflict harm to her.

At the age of 18, she sought to depart Bikanel Island; her goal was to traverse the land of Spira and explore as much of the world as she could to satiate her curiosity and lust for knowledge. Creating a boat herself, she set sail for the Spiran mainland only to be ambushed by a series of marine fiends. With her father’s sword, she valiantly repelled her invaders only to see her boat fall into severe damage and sunk. The next thing she knew, she had awoken off the coast of the Moonflow river delta, alive and relatively unscathed, though having lost her father’s prized sword. To compensate for this, she scoured the Moonflow area to search for a replacement weapon and soon grew deeply fascinated with a sunken Machina city underneath its depths. Eventually she was able to gather sufficient material to forge a new sword. Aided by her many years of Machina tinkering and skills, she was able to create a weapon that could be enhanced by Machina and therefore slightly more powerful than a contemporary sword.

For the next couple of years, she began travelling southwards through Spira, seeking to learn more about the world. She was surprised to see that fellow Al Bhed freely roamed around Spira, establishing estate agencies along the many highroads of the land. One of whom, a gentleman named Sigva offered Celviev temporary accommodation in Luca where she gained much of her knowledge of how Spira is run from. She gained detailed overviews of Yevon, of summoners, of pilgrimages, of the Calm and of the Crusaders. When she arrived in Luca, she overheard the tale of a High Summoner who had sacrificed his life and the life of one of his Guardians to destroy Sin and bring with it a decade of peace and prosperity known as the Calm. Fascinated and yet curious with the reasons as to why a summoner would willingly throw away their life to bring happiness to Spira, she grew determined to meet a summoner and befriend them, so that perhaps she could accompany them on a pilgrimage as a Guardian not only to fight the monstrous Sin, a plague on the world, but also a pilgrimage of greater self-discovery. For Celviev, the principles of a summoner were alien to her and her quest to experience a summoner’s entire journey was to begin.

However, her status as an Al Bhed defensive of Machina and at times unintentionally hostile to Yevon’s teachings had often caused her to be shunned by many Spirans during her travels and that began to mould within her deep suspicions towards Yevon and those staunchly loyal to the religion that would quickly develop when she learnt just how hostile Yevon could potentially be to the Al Bhed. To her, Yevon represented religious oppression and she fantasised its destruction.

Bio: His father was a blacksmith, and his mother was a craft artisan on Leatherworking and Tailoring. They both have made weapons and armor for any adventurer on the Isle of Besaid.

Alister spent most of his days playing Blitzball on the coastline of Besaid. Seeing boats come and go, he wandered what it would be like to see other places beyond Luca. That's as far as he had gone. He frequents Luca to watch Blitzball games and to get away from his parents once in a while.

At a young age, Alister learned to fight from his father. Since whenever his father had finished forging a weapon, they would both go to the waters and test out the new weapons. It almost like they were training with the weapons that Alister's father had made for someone else. For countless hours, they would spend the day testing the weapons capabilities, from cutting fruits, wood, and even rocks.

Crusaders would even come down to Besaid at times and requested weapons from Alister's father. Then when he finished, They Crusaders would take Alister down by the coastline and hold their own little training session, teaching Alister the ways of a Crusader and fighting techniques. As the years passed, Alister became quickly proficient in wielding many varieties of bladed weapons. But, out of all the weapons he's had wielded, he favored Swords and Spears to be his weapons of choice.

He eventually convinced his father to forge a weapon for him, and days after he received his sword, a memento of time with father making weapons, He headed out for anywhere. Since then, Alister has started writing the chapters of his life as he went on, with each new day he traveled to somewhere different, always getting himself into sorts of mayhem and chaos.

Killing fiends, there wasn't anything better than the sheer adrenaline of combat with the baddest fiends in Spira. Even then, Alister needed to get away from his hectic way of life and relax. So he still frequents Luca to watch Blitzball. There isn't anything else better than watching Blitzball, unless of course, it's killing something with an appetite for humans and it growls.

Name
Xenia Astragal

Age
21

Gender
Female

Race
Human

Class
Warrior

Weapon(s)
Although she is skilled in a wide variety of weapons through her Crusader background, Xenia mainly relies on her trusted sword, Virtus. This has served her well in the past two years. It has a red hilt, silver blade and is one-handed. She also possesses a hidden blade that she rarely uses and has for protection, mainly due to her growing paranoia.

Skills/Spells
Her skills primarily lie in her warrior nature. On the other hand, Xenia has had Crusader training and is skilled in a wide variety of weapons, even machina. She is extremely skilled when it comes to battles. Outside of battle, however, she possesses martial arts she rarely uses and is in more tune with her senses because of a memory from two years ago. Xenia also knows one or two White Magic spells she picked up a while ago.

Hometown
Bevelle

Personality
Cold, determined, fierce, unwavering and wise. These are five words that can describe the enigma that is Xenia. Her resolve shines brightly, but there is a faint sadness in her eyes. No one knows why it’s there, nor does anyone inquire it directly to her face. Anyone’s guess would be the past. That guess would be correct. What happened in the past has made her what she is today.

Fearless and ferocious, Xenia’s dedication to Arthur is resolute to the point where she would silently watch over him and put his needs above her own, which makes her selfless. Despite this, she has an awful tendency to disobey others and take over things. Always having to be the one in charge of a situation, she can be quite serious and peaceful when negotiating with others. It is difficult for her to think about things through before rushing into action, the latter of which she typically does, anyway.

But it would be wrong to label her as uncaring. Xenia cherishes her friends and would place them before herself, even willing to sacrifice herself for them if she had to. Perhaps for good reason, she tends not to speak about herself too much and is often dishonest when she has to be. She prefers to be different from everyone else and not be seen as another common citizen of Spira.

Xenia is fiercely loyal. This is one of her most important qualities, one that people do not take for granted. Most mere words cannot break her spirit. When in battle, she remains silent and focused. This is a result of her vigorous Crusader training. The fact that she seemingly knows more about the world than she lets on does not make her cocky. She is keen to hear what everyone else’s opinions are about everything else.

She is kind-hearted, although she does not display many signs of optimism. Her old self was the opposite of what she is today. But that old persona died before the toxin settled in and caused her memories to be mixed up in her mind. Xenia can be violent when it comes to being questioned about her past, though unintentionally of course. There is a certain darkness about her that relates to that topic and causes her to lose all sense of what is happening.

The missing gaps from two years cause her to be constantly aware. She suffers from occasional flashbacks or nightmares while dreaming, so she has become paranoid – one of the reasons why she, oh so, handily has a hidden blade sealed away in her left sleeve.

Appearance
Standing taller than the average woman, Xenia is five foot and eleven inches tall. She has a slim, but toned build. Easily mistaken as the harmless girl, this misconceived perception can be swiftly changed when she is engaged in mortal combat. She has an olive complexion and piercing light blue eyes. Sometimes, her eyes have been said by those who have met to have “cut through to their soul at the first meeting”. Xenia’s hair is long and straight, and a light brown, while her eyebrows and lashes are a darker brown.

Attire
Preferring to keep it casual, Xenia wears a black leather jacket with black pants, black shoes and a grey sleeveless vest top underneath. This attire would be presumed to be uncommon, although it is socially acceptable for her due to her celebrity-like status. She used to wear a typical Crusaders outfit two years ago, but has adopted her new look ever since. This is most likely because she is mourning the many losses she sustained and rebellion against what is normally acceptable.

Xenia keeps the sleeves of her jacket rolled up to her elbows and the jacket itself is unzipped to her chest. She also wears black fingerless gloves and keeps the Virtus in a holder that she either puts on her back or waist.

Bio
Xenia drew breath into a Sin-free world, thankfully enough. The Calm had settled in for four years and Spira was rebuilding the damage they’d sustained at Sin’s hands. Her father was a priest at Bevelle Temple and her mother was a shopkeeper. She led a fairly normal childhood until the age of six, when Sin returned and awoke from its slumber. It destroyed various parts of Bevelle, including the temple and shops. Xenia’s parents both died and as a result, she was raised by the temple’s nuns.

She was devastated for five years thereafter. She would hardly speak to anyone and be adamant about defeating Sin. At one point, Xenia was determined to become a summoner without knowing the sacrifice she’d make. However, by the time she reached eleven years of age, she decided to join the Crusaders after realising the amount of work and dedication it took to be a summoner. Finally free from the temple and being accepted into a new family, Xenia fit in with the Crusaders at their base in Luca. She was determined to become a great warrior to combat Sin and its spawn of monsters.

Three years passed. Xenia became an advanced pupil and was finally accepted into a regiment as well as given her very first sword. The first mission was simple: to eliminate Sinspawn that were terrorising the Calm Lands. It proved to be a simple task for Xenia and so she would take the lead into fighting these monsters. Her time in the Crusaders taught her skills that she would later cherish in her life. However, perhaps the most significant event with the Crusaders would be her best friend, Manus. The two would go on to become secret lovers and were constantly partnered for missions since they complemented each other’s battle style.

But fate had different ideas. Manus was killed when Sin attacked Mount Gagazet. Having fought alongside the Ronso to defend the mountain, Xenia was devastated when he was sent to the Farplane amongst many other severe casualties. Her spirit finally broke and she caved into the grief. Plagued with guilt, she abandoned the Crusaders and sought out the Farplane, suicidal to the point of where she would have rather been with Manus than remain alive. She thought of numerous ways to kill herself, but was about to find her salvation …

Xenia wandered to Guadosalam, where she eventually found refuge with a half human and half Guado named Alucia. Her growing influence and superiority within the society swayed Xenia’s mind into that of hate and disgust. Xenia remained with Alucia for sometime, having her mind twisted against Yevon and taught to unleash her anger on those who deserved it. Kept as a mercenary for Alucia, she would collect targets and bring them back to Guadosalam for further interrogation. Little did she know, Xenia was being used as a puppet for Alucia’s plans to become the first Maestress in Spira’s history.

When she eventually found out what happened to the targets, Xenia was disgusted with Alucia. She vowed to never work for her and tried to leave. But Alucia was one step ahead and had her cornered with guards all over Guadosalam. Alucia would let her go on one condition – she would not exploit her plans. Although Xenia despised that Alucia had exploited her, she had no choice and so left without another word. Her faith had been broken once more and she intended to kill herself as she was going to before.

The Crusaders were able to track her down to the Thunder Plains, where she had intended to electrocute herself by climbing to the top of one of the towers. She was persuaded not to go with her plan. They offered her a chance to be a guardian – to go to Besaid Island and aid the Al-Bhed-Guado summoner named Selene. Unmoved by this offer and yet intrigued, Xenia sought out to do what she had always wanted. She would guide Selene and finally achieve her dream of defeating Sin.

Little did she know, Selene would become one of her lifelong best friends. Selene’s father had known Xenia’s father and so forging a friendship came quickly for both of them. Xenia also came to know her older sister Farah and Khonsu, who would also become Selene’s secret lover. The four would travel together across Spira, but not without a major tragedy that shook them all.

Whilst on the way to a village, it was attacked by Sin. They rushed towards it in a desperate attempt to protect it. However, it was too late. Farah was killed by falling debris, although the others were extremely lucky to escape. Xenia noticed a significant change in Serene after this. The loss of a sister was one that she could understand, having lost several of her Crusader brothers and sisters over the many years against Sin. Xenia was devastated by the death and destruction surrounding her, but vowed to keep going for Serene’s sake.

When Serene started to speak again months later, Xenia began to notice how close she and Khonsu were becoming. She knew that they had entered a secret relationship, having already experienced hers with Manus for many years, and decided to do nothing. Although she knew nothing of the sacrifice that Serene would have to make, Xenia wanted Serene to take what she could for now and cherish it. With Farah’s death, it seemed as though you had to take whatever was there before death snatched it away.

Having finally reached the Zanarkand Ruins, Xenia became even more nervous. It was here that Selene could acquire the Final Summoning, but it made her wonder just what she had to do to get it. After all, everything came at a price. When they reached Yunalesca, it was revealed at last: one of the two guardians would have to sacrifice themselves to become the Final Aeon for Selene. Xenia was about to do it when Khonsu suddenly did. She bit her tongue and fought hard to retaliate against this.

Once this was done, Xenia silently escorted Selene to the Calm Lands. It was rumoured that all battles with Sin would be here. As she quietly waited, Xenia was about to tell Selene she would’ve been the Final Aeon instead. However, this never happened since Sin found them. As if it had expected them. Xenia stood her ground, ready to fight off any Sinspawn, as Selene was about to summon the Final Aeon …

But it appeared that Selene was unavailable to do this. She wasn’t ready to let go of her lover. Xenia snapped at Selene for the first time, telling her she had to let go of Khonsu, and defeat Sin. Her ambition was so close and yet was failing because of some stupid love affair. Whilst Selene stood there, Xenia rushed forward. Having already given up on life, she threw herself in front of the summoner and prepared to give her life to make her see sense.

However, Sin swallowed them both in an enormous burst of energy. Xenia became infected by the toxin. She awoke in the Zanarkand Ruins, clinging on desperately to her memories and fighting against her new illness. She was alive, but half dead. Having believed that Selene was dead since she was nowhere to be seen, Xenia vowed vengeance. First, she picked up her sword and staggered all the way to the ruined stadium, where Yunalesca lay. She demanded answers over why Selene wasn’t forced to use the Final Aeon. Yunalesca merely retaliated and attacked her.

Xenia fought hard against her in a semi-catatonic state. But it was proven to be futile, as Yunalesca’s powers were impossible to beat. Instead of merely killing her as originally planned, Yunalesca decided to keep her as a toy to play with. In retrospect, this meant Xenia was mentally tortured. She ended up fighting paranoid delusions that included her darker self. But after several endless days, Yunalesca grew bored of her and discarded her in the ocean. As everything slipped away, Xenia began to forget who she was and surrendered to the darkness …

But it wasn’t the end.

She opened her eyes to the sight of sunshine, sensation of sand and sound of seagulls. There was a young man crouched down next to her. Xenia tried to speak, but there was too much pain. The blood that dripped down to her hand made her realise that Yunalesca had blooded her entire body. He told her his name – Tyrann – and promised he would take her to safety into the temple. Although Xenia had began to despise Yevon for what had happened to Selene, she was in no position to speak or even move.

The next three days were blurry. When she came round, the nuns told Xenia that she had been in a coma for several days. Tyrann was naturally the first visitor and although she was put off by his obnoxious, but flirtatious nature, Xenia was in his debt. Feeling a connection with Besaid because this had been where she had started the pilgrimage with Selene, she decided to remain here. Even after her injuries had healed, Xenia was unable to leave. She had made enough friends and preferred the scenery as opposed to the outside world, especially since she discovered her run-in with Sin months ago had given her the title of a legendary guardian.

But this peace was to end, of course: Tyrann had announced he was going to become a summoner. Thinking back on what happened before, Xenia would have stood against him. On the other hand, she owed him her life. She stood by him and became a guardian once again. Although it appears she is fully supportive of Tyrann and his pilgrimage to defeat Sin, Xenia will do whatever it takes to prevent the loss of another innocent life. Even if it means repeating history all over again …

Name: Tyrann Opaque

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Class: Black Mage/Summoner

Weapon(s): Twin daggers, of the kind used in human and animal sacrifices in ancient times. Though they can be used for stabbing, they are most efficient when used as a slashing weapon, designed for the tearing and gouging of flesh as opposed to lethal damage.

Skills/Spells: Black Magic: Fire, Thunder, Water, Blizzard

Hometown: Luca

Personality: Sarcastic and deadpan, Tyrann isn't exactly known for keeping his mouth to himself. Though proficient with the dagger, his tongue can be even sharper. And with a knowledge of vulgarity the people of Spira would find hard to match, he can cut the egos of most people down to size with words before he has to use force.

He isn't outspoken all the time, but he isn't likely to let anyone away with anything if he can give them a good tongue lashing and a stare of death before sending them on their way. He can keep quiet when it's imperative, but otherwise he's likely to tell someone to fuck off if he thinks they're in the wrong- or if they're just pissing him off, for that matter.

Underneath the sarcastic, outspoken, vulgar side is a relatively compassionate person. He just doesn't show it too often because he doesn't know how, and because he just doesn't want to. It would take quite the shock to break his guard and expose his more youthful, emotional side.

He knows how to relax and have a good time though, and has been seen snorting the occasional Hypello brewed "herbal remedy" or drinking from a small container he keeps on him at all times now and again.

Appearance: A little short at five foot seven, with a slightly thin face, he regardless has a healthy tan from years of living in a warm climate. With black, slightly ruffled hair, he maintains a youthful appearance despite a default stoic expression. He really only has three facial expressions. Mildly irritated, mildly amused, and batshit insane.

He also has a rather slim form, contributing to the slightly jarring words that come out of such a small, slim guy. He is rather handsome, with blue eyes, a young face, thin lips, and a nose that isn't particularly big or small.

Attire: Wearing a simple white t-shirt and brown leather jacket, Tyrann's clothes aren't particularly expensive, but they are at the very least stylish. With a collection of black and blue jeans and scuffed white sneakers, his fashion is typical of a 30s Greaser.

He wears a few minor accessories and such, such as a bronze ring around his right ring finger, and a red and white striped bandanna around his head, ruffling it even more.

Bio: With a mother who became a High Summoner before him, a heavy burden was placed on him from a young age, with people wondering how the son of a High Summoner would turn out. With such pressure put on him from a young age, he soon developed a sarcastic exterior so that he didn't simply exist as the son of the High Summoner.

However, an attack on his village when he was just ten years old changed his mind. His aunt and uncle, legal guardians since his mother had left on her pilgrimage- he never knew his father- were killed by Sin in a brutal display of power.

It was then that Tyrann himself became an apprentice summoner, and lived under the care of Besaid Temple as his training continued. He was somewhat nervous at first, but his sarcastic mask had become so well fitted that he couldn't show anyone that, and got over it by himself, going through several years of mentally and physically taxing experience.

It was during this time that he met Xenia, washed up on Besaid's shores. He brought her to the village for treatment, and they became friends quickly enough, despite their habit of snapping at one another with several sarcastic remarks.

She became his guardian shortly after that, and helped him through the last years of his training.

Name: Trull “Highwind” Guado
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Race: Guado
Class: Dragoon
Weapon(s): Lance

Skills/Spells: Trull is primarily a melee combatant, although his style of fighting is more reserved than that of an outright warrior; as a spear-wielder, he is primarily about defence, keeping opponents out of reach with superior length, and thrusting to inflict damage on opponents, as opposed to cutting. This style of fighting has its strengths and weaknesses – whilst he possesses a distinct advantage over sword wielders, heavier weapons like axes will break his guard with ease, and penetrating tougher armour is extremely difficult, if not impossible. His natural Guado physical prowess also grants him an enhanced level of strength and agility when compared to humans, allowing him to leap considerably higher than they for vicious downward strikes.

Hometown: Guadosalam

Personality: “Intense” would perhaps be the first word that others used to describe Trull. He is a focused and determined individual: in the face of his goals, all else gets swept away. He is a cold, remote man who, at first, does not invite conversation, and not even after one has gotten to know him does he invite friendship. Taciturn and withdrawn, he rarely speaks unless he is first spoken to, unless the matter is of considerable importance. His time amongst the more reclusive races of Spira, the Guado and the Ronso, has impacted upon his personality considerably, and he shares their distaste for excessive conversation and loud noises.

He possesses supreme confidence in his skills, and is quite content to take a quiet, subservient role and allow those who are less skilled and confident or those who are comfortable in a leadership position take the lead – he has nothing to prove, and leadership roles amongst humans tends to require a lot of communication – but as soon as things begin to spiral out of control, he will take the situation into his own hands, and he will not allow any argument or compromise. He believes in giving people the chance to prove themselves but, ultimately, if he wants something done right, he will do it himself, regardless of what other people say or do. He is not the type to resort to violence if opposed though, even in self-defence. Trull is a rather passive individual, and will only fight if he sees the need for it.

Trull lacks the Guado’s trademark superiority complex regarding other races, although one would not guess this from talking to him. Trull has a strong sense of justice: he does not believe in the isolationist ways of his people, and nor does he particularly care for their views on other matters. He is a hard realist and a cynic who sees the world for what it is, and has a clear-cut view of what is right and wrong. His justice is harsh but fair, although this makes him a man who is very much set in his ways, leading to occasional bouts of narrow-mindedness. Trull is assertive and direct – he does not beat around the issue, and he does not argue.

Despite his somewhat hard personality, Trull is a man who inspires confidence and trust, and at least a grudging respect: whilst he’s a reclusive, emotionless man, he is unshakably reliable. There are very few people who like him, and even less who consider him a friend (for his part, Trull does not consider anyone a friend) but he is someone that anyone can count on and ask for advice…although it is rare they’ll like the advice he gives them. Some would call him honest, others would call him tactless. With Trull, duty comes first and is everything, anything else is a distraction. There will be time to feel and play around after Sin is destroyed. Trull gives the distinct impression that he does not have any feelings, which is not entirely correct: he simply does not allow his personal feelings to interfere with his duty…or anything else, for that matter. He does not discuss his private life; not because he has something to hide, but because he doesn’t see it as relevant.

Appearance: Trull stands at four inches over six feet in height, making him slightly taller than the average Guado. He possesses all the racial characteristics of a Guado – a lean frame, with somewhat elongated limbs and larger-than-average hands, all with extremely prominent veins. However, his naturally svelte figure is tempered somewhat by the muscle he has built up over years of training, a side-effect of his travels and chosen combat style. He has a long, narrow face, with close-set amber eyes, a mouth that seems to be permanently set in a frown, and a nose that is slightly crooked, having been broken a grand total of four times in his life thus far. His face is scarred and lined, making him appear to be at least ten years older than what he actually is, made all the more severe by his medium aquamarine hair, which is braided and tied back into a single ponytail, making his scars and the veins surrounding his face all the more prominent, so they form a shattered tapestry across his face.

Attire: Trull is garbed in a plain green tunic with a darker green hem (which, when done up at the top, covers the lower half of his face) and relatively loose-fitting trousers of the same colour and weave; standard Guado clothing, the latter of which are tucked into black, shin-high boots. Over this he wears Ronso armour customized for one of his size – arm guards and a half breastplate, which forms a V shape from his neck to the abdomen, strapped to him by thin, yet strong, chain links. Around his waist is an Al-Bhed treasure hunter’s belt, in which he keeps various rations and a couple of tools (he does not have the Al-Bhed proficiency for Machina, so the standard tools for tinkering with them you’d expect to find are absent) as well as a pair of desert goggles. He is adorned with various pieces of jewellery from assorted cultures – the most prominent of which is a Ronso tribal necklace, a simple string adorned with various bones from monsters Trull has personally killed, as well as a carved symbol to indicate his status as an honorary member of the tribe, and both upswept ears have been pierced with two gold rings apiece. Other necklaces crowd his neck, although many of these are below his tunic (such as one with a golden coin, which was given to him by the Hypello merchant he travelled with) and out of sight. The only symbol of Trull’s heritage is a plain, silver ring on his left middle finger that is adorned with the family crest and, were it not for his Guado tunic and characteristic looks, it would be difficult to tell just precisely what race he was.

Bio: Trull was born the youngest of three sons to one of the richest Guado families in Guadosalam, and his youth in perpetual obscurity. His father was an extremely strict one who, whilst he wanted nothing but the very best for his children, followed the philosophy that you earn what you get, and his mother was no different; if anything, she was more unforgiving of mistakes than his father was. From his fifth birthday onwards, Trull was treated as a liability and a burden, and whilst he has since grown to understand his parent’s methods, he spent much of his childhood in bitterness and morbidity. There was no time for play, only for study, as it was expected that Trull would at least meet the standards his brothers had set before him. However, his brothers had set extremely high standards, standards which proved impossible for Trull to match.

When he was thirteen, Trull decided to earn his parent’s respect by taking up the spear; something Guado warriors did not commonly train with. He spent four years training with the Ronso, the last remaining race on Spira who favoured the weapon over a sword, although the first year was spent convincing them that he was worthy of learning the art, first learning their ways, and then contributing to their society.

He mastered the weapon extremely quickly when was finally accepted for pupillage; his agility earning him a distinct advantage over his Ronso teachers, although his reduced height (although he was tall for a Guado, his Ronso teachers stood at well over seven feet) and strength made him extremely vulnerable to their retaliatory strikes, meaning he had to adjust his battle style to be one that focused primarily on defence instead of offense. He was declared a warrior shortly before his seventeeth birthday, and given an honorary position in the Ronso tribe, as well as the name Highwind, which he adopted into his name. His time with the Ronso also expanded his previously narrow-minded, stereotypical Guado view of the world, and taught him a measure of humility. After leaving the Ronso, he spent a small measure of time with a small group of Al-Bhed treasure hunters, staying long enough to learn their language and something of their culture, before travelling with a Hypello merchant back to Guadosalam, during which he pestered the poor creature endlessly with questions.
Returning home on the eve of his eighteenth birthday, Trull defeated his elder brother in single combat, finally earning some measure of respect from his parents. However, his eldest brother, Khonsu, had already left Guadosalam, accompanying the new summoner, who Trull knew only by her reputation as an Al-Bhed/Guado half-breed – something that no longer mattered to him as much as it did everyone else - on her pilgrimage. Unable to challenge him and prove his worth, he was still treated as a liability, although he was accorded some measure of respect. However, by this point Trull did not particularly care, finding that the narrow-minded, isolationist policies of his people were not to his tastes, and that their archaic ways were keeping them from truly growing as a race. He endeavoured to teach his people something of what he had learned, although was met with little success – after all, the Guado take care of Guado affairs, and the rest of the world could be destroyed by Sin for all they cared.

When word finally reached Guadosalam that the summoner had failed in her quest, her guardians presumably dead, Trull left Guadosalam, as his parents suddenly accorded him a great deal of attention, treating his elder brother now as though he were a blot upon the family honour. He returned to the Ronso tribe, spending three years amongst them before hearing of a new summoner in Besaid, one who intended to start their pilgrimage in the next few weeks. Trull left for Besaid immediately, with the intent of accompanying this new summoner on their journey to defeat Sin, for his elder brother’s sake. He would make sure this summoner would succeed where the other had failed, and perhaps in doing so he might convince his people that there was more to life than just Guado affairs.

Name: Selene
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Race: Al-Bhed/Guado half-breed
Class: White Mage (Summoner)
Weapon(s): Staff
Skills/Spells: White Magic, and the ability to summon Anima
Hometown: Guadosalam

Personality: Selene is a very enigmatic individual. She has a permanent faraway look in her eye, and will often space-out, even if she is right in the middle of a conversation with someone. Words, thoughts, places and people trigger memories, thoughts and feelings within her, seemingly at random, and to her it feels as though these are someone else’s memories; that she is but an observer.

Selene is a very impulsive individual, and will act without thinking, and even after the event she is often not entirely sure why she acted the way that she did. She dwells often on matters that come unbidden to her memory, although her train of thought will often change mid-thought, as she struggles to make links between things, or something else simply intrudes into her mind, beyond her control. She is a very difficult person to understand, and when talking to her others get the impression as though she is haunted by something, or as though something is holding her back, yet she is either unwilling or unable to discuss it, or unaware of it altogether. She is often mistaken for one who is infected with Sin’s toxin, although with further conversation people are often inclined to just label her as a daydreamer. She isn’t entirely there, but how would a summoner of all people become infected with Sin’s toxin?

Despite her mysterious demeanour, she is kind-hearted to a fault, and has a presence that can set even the most restless of minds at ease. Quick to smile (although it is often a melancholy smile) but never to laugh, she is as enigmatic to others as she is, it would seem, to herself. She is very open with others, although at the same time she reveals very little: it seems that there just isn’t much to tell. Her honesty does not lead people to believe that she is hiding anything from them, and with Selene, what you see appears to be what you get; a kind-hearted, yet ditzy, summoner, yet without the drive to succeed that other summoners have – indeed, she often gives the impression that she is quite content to drift through Spira and let Sin come to her when they’re both ready. She is missing something, and neither she nor those who encounter her can quite place it.

It would be a mistake to label her an optimist; rather, she exudes a natural confidence (ironic, given that she herself is unaware as to the source of her confidence) that inspires those around her to think positively. Selene herself is actually quite passive: she dislikes conflict, and has no real opinion on matters. What will be, will be. She is supremely unconcerned with her surroundings, focusing instead on the bigger picture. She has become, with her lack of memory, a creature of almost pure instinct, a wraith in a world that she does not entirely belong to.

Selene, if anything, lacks personality. She is detached from the world and, whilst not self-absorbed, is trapped somewhere within her own memories, trying to make sense of things. She believes her current goal is to defeat Sin – and, indeed, her ability to summon and formidable magical prowess suggests as much – yet she lacks travelling companions, and her strength is far beyond that of a summon who is just starting out on their quest. There is a nag in her head that tells her, constantly, that something is very wrong, yet the answers lie just out of her reach.

Appearance: Selene is 5’5” in height, and has the slim, willowy frame with slightly longer than average arms and legs that are a racial trait of the Guado, although her hands are relatively small by comparison, and the veins around her face are not quite so knotted; although as her complexion is practically bloodless, they stand out almost as much as a normal Guado’s do. Her hair falls down to around her waist, although it is a light blonde, as opposed to the darker blue/green that most Guado have; an Al-Bhed trait. Her features are drawn and somewhat regal: high cheekbones, a long-straight nose with a slightly pointed tip, pale, bloodless lips, all accentuated by dark veins. Her eyes are heavy-lidded, making her appear as though she is in a stupor, and are a lifeless grey, although they are swirled, an Al-Bhed characteristic.

Attire: Selene wears a simple white robe, the hem and cuffs of which are laced with black, which is slightly sturdier than the white material the robe is made from. Despite all it has been through, the robe is as pristine as it was when she first donned it. She often wears the hood up, to disguise her distinct facial features. She also wears worn leather boots that reach up to her knees, and a single silver ring with a small sapphire embedded in the centre.

Bio: Selene was born the child of an Al-Bhed and a Guado, an unusual union that earned her considerable amounts of distaste and scorn amongst both races. During her childhood, she lived with her mother, and the Guado side of her family – she was something of a secret child, a secret shame, never allowed to socialise, and rarely allowed out of the house. Her elder sister, who was pure Guado, was her caretaker for much of her youth; her mother was often ill, and she saw her father a total of three times over her life, before he was killed by Sin, shortly before her tenth birthday. It was her father’s death – and her mother’s grief – that prompted her to become a Summoner. She finally succeeded in this when she was nineteen, and began her pilgrimage, along with three companions – Farah, her elder sister, Xenia, her closest friend and the daughter of an old friend to the family, and Khonsu, a friend of her sister’s, who later became her lover.

However, her pilgrimage did not go smoothly – as a summoner, she was admired and revered. As an Al-Bhed/Guado half-breed, she was treated with contempt. As the large majority of people found out the latter fact before the former, their subsequent respect was hollow and meaningless, and over time, Selene began to feel less and less that these people deserved to be saved, although she never said as much to her companions, or anyone else.

Her sister’s death marked a turning point: Sin attacked a coastal village that they happened to be very close to at the time and, naturally, they rushed to aid the village. Selene had acquired several summons by this point, and was able to fend off the sinspawn with relative ease. However, she could not be everywhere at once, and nor could she stop Sin itself. In its mindless rampage, the creature conjured a cyclone, which ripped through the remnants of the village. Selene, Xenia and Khonsu were all extremely lucky to escape. Farah was not so fortunate, and was crushed by falling debris. Her death broke Selene’s spirit utterly, and she refused to speak to either of her companions for months afterwards.

It was Khonsu who finally reached her through her grief and, a short time later, the two became lovers. Selene re-discovered her purpose as a summoner, and continued her pilgrimage, eventually acquiring all of the Aeons and finally being at the stage where she could confront Sin. However, she was devastated to find that the sacrifice of one of her companions to become the Final Aeon was required to defeat Sin. Naturally, Khonsu volunteered, although in the end, she could not let go of her lover. She refused to and, as a result, Sin annihilated them both, absorbing Khonsu and swallowing Selene and Xenia in a burst of energy.

Selene awoke in her home in Guadosalam, alone. Her memories naught but flashes, and a strange detachment upon her very existence, she left shortly afterwards, wandering the lands. Of her companions, she remembered little – only that she had an elder sister, a lover, and a friend – and of her goals even less, only that she must travel the lands and eventually confront Sin. When she told people this, they hailed her as a summoner and, over time, she embraced this again as her calling, all the while oblivious to the truth: that she was, in fact, dead, and that she had failed in her quest. Guided by her instincts and shattered memories, Selene continues to travel the lands, in search of answers and what she assumes is her goal, all the while attempting to ignore the nagging feeling that this is not the case…

Name: Khonsu Guado
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Race: Guado
Class: Warrior (Final Aeon)

Weapon(s): Khonsu’s weapon of choice is a rather terrifying two-handed flail which, instead of having a spiked ball at the end, has four short swords and a single long sword attached to the end by thick chains. These can be used separately, or wielded together. Khonsu’s fighting style is eclectic; a combination of long-ranged attacks and close-quarters fighting.

Skills/Spells: Khonsu is a highly skilled warrior, and his physical prowess is further augmented as Selene’s Final Aeon – he can deliver crushing blows even without the aid of his weapons. The long sword – Penance, his original weapon – is capable of dealing devastating non-elemental damage, be it in his hands or at the tip of his flail (acting as a makeshift lance of sorts), the staff of which can also be wielded by itself for punishing physical strikes or defence.

Whilst Khonsu cannot cast spells, his short swords have been enhanced: each one is empowered with a different element, allowing him to strike out with elemental damage. He can also release these swords, allowing them to take up stationary positions around him to unleash powerful spells of their own accord – although they are easily rendered inert if he leaves them in this position, and he must exercise his will to return autonomy to them, leaving him momentarily distracted – if anyone can reach him to battle him, such a distraction is liable to prove fatal, and more than he can afford.

Khonsu also possesses an Overdrive attack, Planet Soul. Recalling all of his blades by pulling in the chains that bind them, he then rises into the air, casting the swords downwards into the earth and forming a cage of chains around his opponent. From above, he raises Penance, lashing out with black energy that deals non-elemental damage before, finally, falling to the ground himself, recalling his blades at the last second and striking out with all of them at once, dealing devastating damage to all who are caught within the cage, and knocking back those who were fortunate enough to escape his initial onslaught. This attack takes a tremendous amount of power, and he cannot use it if Selene is not present and able to add to his power.
However, the further away Selene is, the less powerful he, as an individual, becomes. Khonsu is constantly fighting a battle of wills with the monster that is Sin, and without Selene to lend him support; it is a battle that he cannot win. Whilst he gains his humanity with Selene around, and is a formidable opponent, he loses that unstoppable, indomitable power that is wielded by Sin when he regains his senses.
As Sin, he possesses power unrivalled, although this power is not really his to wield.

Hometown: Guadosalam

Personality: Khonsu is a light-hearted, optimistic man, quick to laugh and extremely patient with people. He is an individual who invites conversation and trust and, much like his younger brother Trull, has a strong sense of justice. He wholeheartedly believes in his cause and, once he has chosen a path of action, will not stray from his objective, regardless of where it may lead him or any questionable decisions he may have to make.

Whilst Khonsu does not believe that the ends entirely justify the means, he believes that, in order to acquire the desired outcome, you must be prepared to dirty your hands just a little. He is not the type of person to attempt to justify his choices, for there is no justification: he has been put in a position of power, with the ability to change the course of history, and he believes it is his duty to see this through, regardless of what others think. He accepts that he cannot please everyone.

His dedication to his lover, Selene, is one of Khonsu’s most noticeable personality traits: he does not worship her, and he is not overly protective, but he is extremely loyal, and very supportive. Khonsu treats others as equals, allowing them to develop themselves as they see fit, and Selene is no exception: the only thing that separates her from everyone else is that, in loving her, he supports her in every way he can, taking an active interest and involvement in her goals.

Whilst still prone to black moods, these are few and far between and, for the most part, Khonsu is a man who seems to be in a permanent state of relief, as though he once carried the entire world’s burdens upon his shoulders…which, whilst it is far from the truth, isn’t too far from his mindset before he met Selene.

…however, much of Khonsu’s former personality has been eroded, consumed by the monster that is Sin. Without Selene, he is a mindless monster and his original self is naught but a voice within his own mind, screaming as he takes thousands of lives with no effort whatsoever. But his love and dedication to Selene, his Summoner, is sufficient to override Sin’s will entirely if she is near him and, if in close proximity, a spark of Khonsu can direct the beast to seek her out, as a barely noticeable but overwhelming compulsion, so that he might reach her and regain control over himself, and somehow find a way out of this nightmare…

Appearance: Khonsu is 6’5” in height, and is slightly more muscled than the average Guado. His facial features are more chiselled than pointed, an odd characteristic for a Guado, suggesting that there may be human in his ancestry somewhere, although if there is, his parents are keeping very quiet about it. He has full, expressive eyes the colour of emeralds, a nose that, despite being broken several times in his life, is almost perfectly straight, and is entirely hairless: short hair is a waste of time, and long hair gets in your field of vision. His skin is slightly darker than most Guado, noticeably tanned and worn from years spent in the mountains and a brief sojourn in the Bikanel Desert. Khonsu has poor blood circulation in his hands, something that is characterized by his thinner veins, which are slightly less accentuated than those of other Guado.

Attire: Khonsu is garbed in a loose-fitting grey robe, with long sleeves and a slightly longer than average hood. It is a single piece garment held in place by four clasps across the chest, designed to be removed quickly and easily for combat. Beneath this, he is bare-chested, with grey trousers of similar material, although these are slightly closer-fit, so that they do not snag on anything, and are tucked into thick-soled boots. Khonsu wears two pieces of jewellery – a silver ring with a sapphire in the centre, a match to Selene’s, and a necklace underneath his robe with his family’s crest upon it, a symbol of his position as eldest son and heir to his family’s fortune.

Selene’s Final Aeon: As Selene’s Final Aeon, Khonsu enlarges significantly, becoming nearly nine feet in height, and considerably bulkier. His muscles considerably more pronounced, his characteristic Guado veins bulging, and then darkening to a sickly black. A second pair of arms appears beneath his original arms, allowing him to wield all four of his short swords at once if he desires, and his appearance becomes far more bestial: his hands become clawed, and his feet become talons. His clothing rips, leaving him in naught but a loincloth and a skull-like helm that appears to cover the upper half of his face, from which eyes – still emerald – appear to burn from within. Chains are wrapped around his forearms and calves, all of which are interconnected by the staff of the two-handed flail, which separates the links when he removes it, leaving them dangling from his limbs. The symbol of Yevon burns itself onto his chest, a stain across his pallid grey skin that continues to burn in emerald fire to match that of his eyes, the edges of the mark surrounded by black and blistering flesh. He is entirely hairless in this state, giving him a sleek, amphibious appearance, although his forearms and calves are scaled.

Bio: Khonsu was born the eldest son of three, and much of his life was spent setting an example for his younger brothers: he was to be their inspiration, and their obstacle to overcome. Being thrust into such a competitive role by his parents took a heavy toll on Khonsu’s personality: he became a man prone to black moods and brooding, and spent a great deal of his time away from his family and, indeed, other Guado, absorbed in his studies and weapons training.

For much of his youth, Khonsu spent much of his time alone, although this changed when he chanced across Selene and her elder sister, Farah, on the Thunder Plains.
The two knew of one another, although Farah did not care for Khonsu – he was an aloof figure even by Guado standards. For his part, Khonsu did not want a half-breed interrupting his training sessions. One thing led to another, and Khonsu and Farah ended up fighting. Despite her formidable skills, Farah lost very quickly and Selene, impressed with Khonsu’s abilities, requested that he join her on her pilgrimage when she became a summoner. Khonsu, possessing the Al Bhed contempt for half-breeds, as well as his own difficulties, refused her immediately. However, rather than deter her, it encouraged her to win him over, and she spent her days after their first confrontation training herself, struggling to prove herself more to him than to anyone else, despite the fact that it was the world that would be judging her. In many ways, she reminded Khonsu of his youngest brother, Trull, who had left Guadosalam to seek his own path in response to the circumstances of his birth.

It took her two years, and no small amount of persuasion, but Khonsu finally agreed to accompany her. He reluctantly allowed Farah to lead their group, after both she and Selene shouted him down, and their party expanded by an additional member, Xenia, once they reached Besaid. Gradually, Khonsu allowed himself to become friends with his companions – with Farah as his rival, Selene as his ward and something of a little sister, and Xenia, whose dedication was almost a match for his own, and who was experiencing much the same difficulty in making friends, he began to feel at peace, more so than he ever had at home. The expectations were still there, but this was something he was doing because he wanted to, and not because it was demanded of him.

Farah’s death hit Khonsu extremely hard – she had, after all, been something of an older sister figure to him, as well as a rival – but it hit Selene far harder. She refused to speak to either Khonsu or Xenia for months, and became little more than a lifeless shell. It was then that Khonsu took it upon himself to win her over, much as she had done for him when they first met. They realised their feelings for one another almost simultaneously, and Selene returned to her original state, although she was somewhat more melancholy than she had been before, and her white magic abilities had, inexplicably, been enhanced significantly: a result of acquiring her sister’s Fayth in the form of Anima, although none were to discover that fact.

Khonsu forced Selene into accepting him as her Final Aeon – whilst he knew that Xenia would have willingly consented, he believed that, due to their stronger bond, they would be able to defeat Sin with far greater ease. However, this bond proved to be their undoing: unwilling to commit herself to battle and sacrifice her lover, Selene held back a great deal of Khonsu’s power in the battle, despite his pleas that she allow him to fulfil his duty to her.

Sin seemingly annihilated both Selene and Xenia in a burst of energy. Enraged, both at Sin for taking away those he cared about the most, and himself for putting Selene is such a terrible position, Khonsu called upon his newfound power as the Final Aeon – unhindered, now that Selene had been seemingly killed - and cut through Sin effortlessly. However, what he found waiting for him inside it were chains. Bound inside Sin, his will was overwhelmed by a being beyond his comprehension, driven into the deepest recesses of his mind, and he became Sin. His power and senses were amplified beyond what he had thought possible, yet all was beyond his control.

However, with his enhanced senses, another fact was revealed to him: Selene was still alive. Of Xenia, he knew nothing, for he shared no link to her beyond that of friendship. However, as his lover and his summoner, Selene’s presence burned itself in his mind, giving him a small measure of control over the beast he had become. Enough for him to direct the creature’s course towards her, so that he might fully regain control and, together, the two could finish what they started. However, he had no control over the destruction he would bring in finding her again…

I'm happy to say that everyone's approved! And I'd like to announce that this will be the final line-up, too. Monday ok for everyone to start? You're all fine to make any adjustments whatsoever. Just let me know!

I'll also be making a new template as we get a bit further in the template.

My activity this week will have to be a little on-off with the workload piled on me. Just a heads up in case anyone is wondering why I may not have posted yet anytime this week. I may be alright though, it depends on how much coursework editing and bibliographies I have to do for Friday. :gonk:

Lazy Jess isn't posting 'til Kilika. /sits back to watch the RP

Now I don't want to sound like a madam here, but where is everyone? :gasp:

I know Diar is waiting on more posts and Olivia posted after me, so?

Well let me see...me and Jess were gonna wait till Kilika, Diar, you and Olivia were the last three to post, that leaves us with Martel and Kyoshiro.

I'm sorry guys,

I'm gonna have to drop off the RP.

I'm far too busy with projects and research assignments to RP for the time being. -

Or the best decision for me to do might be to go on Hiatus for like 2-3 weeks. You guys could just assume that Alister wants to stay back, then when I do really get back, I could just catch up to yall.

What about everyone else? Where are you all?

I know Martel will be composing a post tomorrow morning and Diar can't really post much more until we have the guardians' response.
