Alias: Ironheart
Name: Sophia Hart
Age: 29
Gender: Female
Affiliation: Witches
Weapon: N/A
Element: Metal
Appearance:
Sophia is an average sized woman. She stands about 5'7" (1.7m) and weighs in at about 125 lbs (~57kg). Sophia considers herself something of an academic but she takes care of herself as well. She understands that maintaining a good figure can be advantageous to her, so she takes care to maintain a decent weight...but only as a matter of convenience.
Sophia has long black hair that extends down to her lower back. Normally she wears her hair down (as pictured), but she will sometimes pull it back into a bun for work. She has large eyes that are a very light purple hue. She has a slightly pale complexion that is free of blemishes or other distinguishing marks.
Sophia works as a librarian, so her dress is generally businesslike. She usually wears fairly modest blouses and skirts. As mentioned before, however, she is aware of the power that the female form can have on others...and dresses cleverly to exploit this power. She never is overtly provocative, but she will make herself noticeable.
Personality:
Sophia should certainly be classified as an introvert. She spends a lot of time in a quiet setting, so she has grown accustomed to speaking very little. She is soft-spoken to begin with, so she has a tendency to speak only when absolutely necessary. As a result, she takes great care to choose her words carefully. Sophia takes pride in her intelligence, and as such takes care to maintain that impression with her words. On the surface, she seems like the very archetype of a quiet librarian.
On the inside, however, a different woman lives. As much as Sophia is soft-spoken and quiet, she is ruthless and inventive. Sophia has spent a lifetime in study of many topics, particularly in the field of metallurgy since she was visited by the Horned One. Years of being the Metal Witch have honed her survival instinct to a lethal edge. She will exploit any advantage and do anything if it means continued survival.
History:
Sophia was born in the London temple of the Grey Order to parents who were both young acolytes in the order. Being born to two Grey Helms, she was taught from an early age how to hate witches. It was only natural that Sophia would desire to follow in her parents' footsteps, particularly those of her mother, Rosaline. This desire became even stronger when Sophia's father was killed by the current Metal Witch when Sophia was only 4 years old.
Her mother taught her the love of learning (particularly reading) from a very early age, so Sophia was constantly reading and learning the ways of the Grey Order under her mother's expert tutelage. Sophia gained a reputation around the temple for the extraordinary intelligence she showed during her regular instruction and was expected to become one of the brightest young Spiritwalkers that the temple had ever produced.
As Sophia grew older, though, her mother became more distant. Rosaline was called upon to travel quite frequently, which drove Sophia even deeper into her studies. Right before Sophia's 11th birthday, her mother slew the Lightning Witch...making her a Witchslayer and a legend in her own right. It wasn't long before the other children began to refer to Sophia as "Rosaline's daughter", which filled Sophia with mixed emotions of pride and frustration. She loved her mother...but also wanted to succeed for herself. Sophia studied harder than ever, which was easy since her mother was busier than ever those days. Years passed in this manner...
On the night of her 16th birthday, the day before she was to begin her Seeker training, she had a strange dream. The Horned King, whom she had been taught to hate for her entire life, appeared to her and bestowed the title of Metal Witch upon her. Sophia woke up in the dead of night in a cold sweat, refusing to believe what was surely just a dream borne of nerves due to the testing tomorrow. She reached for her alarm clock to see what time it was, and was horrified when it flew into her hands seemingly of its own accord. She realized all at once that her dream was not a dream...and she could not stay at the temple. Under the cover of darkness, she fled...never to see the Order or her mother again.
Sophia spent years traveling to different countries in the hope of learning more about what had happened to her. Her intent was simply to hide, but the Order proved too intelligent for that. She killed her first Grey Sword when she was only 18, and that experience changed her outlook forever. The Order had forsaken her as easily as a piece of unwanted garbage...and she would never forget it. After that day, it became much easier for Sophia to kill her pursuers when they appeared, rather than evade them.
After 10 years of traveling Europe, Sophia returned to London to live a quiet life as a librarian. She could not fully explain why she chose to return to the city of her birth...it certainly didn't fit with her self-preservation instincts. Perhaps she was even motivated, deep down inside, to see the mother that had cast her aside so long ago...
