Summoner Question...

It's also because SE doesn't want the game broken. I mean whats the point of having anima right at the start? Everything would die instantly and the game would be boring. That also why you get stronger and stronger aeons each time.

I go with the idea that the summoner has to be prepared to get the final aeon and summon it by getting other aeons at the temples on the way to Zanarkand.

Consider that Yuna fainted after getting her first aeon. Now consider what her reaction might have been if she tried getting the last aeon before prepping herself by getting all the others.

Everyones going by storyline wise. It caould just be the fact that there's no point in having final aeon at start otherwise the game would be shorter than a hobbit. Not to mention easy.

Yeah, but that is kinda obvious. lol. I wanted to look at it story wise.

You could go about it that way too though.

Kinda had to… well, most of them anyway.

Like most have already said, it’s a major part of the storyline as well as the Summoners training in order to achieve the final Aeon, not just a way to get to Zanarkand.

Lol, besides, what would a FF be without Aeons / Eidolons / Espers / GF’s etc. :monster:

*not talking storyline here*

I always wondered what the point of collecting the extra summons was. It's just more summons to kill off at the end. Anima was really the only one who was worth the time...simply because she was easy to get and did great damage.

Most likely. But frankly, it was just too much crap to do to get the Magus Sisters and too expensive to get/use Yojimbo (I had him on my first file).

Also, as people have said, the Aeons were like training to build up Yuna's strength for the final summoning. And would it even be possible to summon the last Aeon without obtaining all the others first?

I thought that aswel, but I guess it's 'cause the other 3 temples aren't in towns with the yevony people there in charge of them???? Does seem abit stupid though, i'd expect you would have to collect them all or yunalesca would just tell you to go away

Well, since Yunalesca was a proprietor of Yevon, she wouldn't care if you didn't gather the fayth from temples no longer serviced by the clerics. Perhaps once upon a time, they used to be part of the summoner's pilgrimage, but obviously that time has passed as they are now forgotten.

T'is a summoners duty to get the aeons which "train" her up. the aeons make her stronger, so its only logical that she needs to get them all.

it also makes sense that she gets a fell for summoning

Yeah, they do help the game to become easier, especially with bosses and such but I suppose they are not a necessity. I wasn't bothered to go through the game and collect all the Aeons because I didn't see a point for it! Besides, it was better that way anyway because all you had to do was kill them in the end, I didn't like doing that at all. The more Aeons you get, the more you had to kill at the end. Poor things!
