[T] The Hideout

I'm not going to go for that game til I've platted the first one. As sick and tired as I am of it, it must be done. I've got too many games that are sitting there and need to be completed. >_>

5 hours later, game complete. 21 trophies obtained. Great way to pass a lazy, boring, Sunday afternoon.

Not kidding about it being boring, I have been watching Burn Notice all weekend and I am quite addicted to this show, 3 series in 1 weekend gawd I have no life, need an early night tonight, got a early morning run through a not so nice neighbour hood..... Wish me luck. :wacky:

I think I did too, Ringo. :wacky:

Pretty happy today since I'm a Playstation Plus user, I could download Sonic the Hedgehog for free and there are only 12 trophies added to it. Awesome sauce.

Playstation Plus pffft :hmph:

I'm not much of a DLC person, Bought the FF games and MGS of the store but other than that its free themes and avatars, and the occasional map pack when I was a CoD fan :mokken:

I've only got a few packs myself, Soul Calibur IV's Yoda and a few uniform packs come to mind, but that's all that really comes to mind. Though I did get ACII Collector's Edition which came with the add on DLCs I'd have to otherwise pay for, so I guess that kinda counts? Even though that cost just as much as the normal version of the game.

Though I'm thinking I need to get that Leo pack eventually for Brotherhood, and if I get MvC3, I'll wanna at least download Jill...and Dissidia when they release more DLC...bloody hell. :hmph:

I've never been a fan of DLC in my vidya gaemz. If a game isn't strong enough to stand on it's own feet out of the gate, then you've done something wrong. Games of old were gold back in the day without DLC. Nowadays, people can make 75% of the game, and leave it completely unfinished and release it anyway, then be lazy bastards and release the other 25% of it through DLC later.

Then the kicker is you have to pay for this shit again. Games are expensive enough, being $60 and all, but you also want me to pay an extra $10-$20 just to get the rest of my fucking game? Fuck you.

Also, day 1 DLC is a fucking blight to vidya gaemz. Game developers these days are a fucking joke, and all they care for is the money. It's motherfucking sad. If I go to the store and by my game for $60, it better be damn well worth it, because that's all I'm spending for it.

Day 1 DLC: Nope
DLC: Nope

Just isn't happening for me. It's one of the many reasons why I pirate all of my video games now. The only way I'll pay for it is if I love the game so fucking much that I'm willing to pay for it. (Morrowind, Monster Hunter, etc.)

Why the fuck should I pay greedy ass developers to make a halfassed game to try to rob me of my money again later with DLC?

Amen agreed, its kinda like.]

"Congratulations on buying this game here is some DLC that you need to figure what the fuck is going on within the story before you actually start the story"

or

"Well done on completing the game now buy this DLC to figure out some stuff that happened before the game or after the game"

:rage: Make a game where I can enjoy the story and not have to worry about any secret twists at the end that will cost me more money to find out what the fuck is going.

/rant over :mokken:

I'm ok when it comes to DLC. I got the ones from TFU and they're actually pretty interesting because it's all alternate universe if you chose the dark path and what happens as a result of it. Extra trophies are nice, too.

Dragon Age: Origins is really irritating me, in regards to DLC. I'm really enjoying playing the game, but when you get a conversation option and it's like "Go here? [Requires purchase of DLC £9.99]

I'm like... -__-

The TFU DLC didn't cost a whole lot, but that's a ridiculous amount to pay for DLC. They must realise that gamers aren't thick and going to waste that amount of money straight away.

Speaking of ridiculous DLC prices, Disgaea 3 takes the cake for me.

Got the game for Christmas, for about £12. There's a "every DLC" pack on PSN... £40 -__-

Without a doubt the DLC could be interesting, but I shouldn't be required to pay for it when I've already thrown down $60 for a vidya game. As I said, either the game should be able to stand on it's own out of the gate, they should hold it off until it can.

There is no excuse why games of old are better than games made now. Games back then were lengthy, fun, enjoyable, and had no DLC. Games now are half-assed, not so fun, and riddled with bullshit DLC.

Example: Marvel VS Capcom 3, there was no fucking excuse for day one DLC for extra fighters, they only wanted more jewcoins. :mokken:

That really irritates me beyond belief with fighting games; having to pay to unlock fighters. Soul Calibur IV, I'm looking at you here. "Yoda and Darth Vader are console exclusive" three months later... DLC for the two consoles -__-

Then again, fighters these days suck. I hate having all the characters available at the start of the game; the older Tekken games made you use more than your main characters to unlock them all, and you got so much more out of the game that way.

It's all a money making scheme with everything nowadays, especially gaming and DLC. I'd only get the DLC if I knew it was truly worth it or if they had trophies. I only got the Playstation Plus because there's a lot of free stuff once it becomes available.

Tekken 6 I didn't mind cause all I was set on was getting online, of course, then I got kinda turnt off cause I ran into folk who got the sorta skill that should be illegal. You only really were left to unlock characters for that Story Mode which was dogshite anyway. Tekken Force is fun, but when I pretty much have to do it, no thanks.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 looks good even without Jill and Marvel tentacle thing. Don't think they were Day 1 DLC, but your case still kinda stands because plans for Jill and her being DLC was announced before the sodding game was released.

By all means, don't hesitate to expand on the game, you gave me a chance to get my worth out of the game, and if you thought up something after that wouldn't exactly make up the next game, but would give me a decent extra play out of the game for just a small sum, then I won't mind paying it. But when it literally feels like something that should have been included in the final piece, such as Sequence 11 and 12 from ACII, (Battle of Forli and Bonfire of the Vanities) then I gotta put my foot down and just go "That's not on".

Downloadable Characters do fit under the category of expanding on the game, especially in the case of Soul Calibur IV where instead of having to buy 360 and the game again for the chance to play as Yoda, you just had to pay a small cash sum instead. But in the case of MvC3 where Jill and tentacle thing was announced beforehand...well, something just seemed off there. I'm suprised Capcom weren't sneakier about it and waited till a while after the game was released before making the reveal. Still, the game doesn't seem to be strongly affected by DLC, as seems to be the case with this Dragon Age. :wacky:
