~+Tales of FFF+~The Role Play

FFGuy pondered once he found a seat in the corner

FFGuy(in thought): What is it that can be achieved? we have so many enemies and they can penetrate this castle far to well, is someone inside trying to destroy us? I must question Julius on this tomorrow....

"You kidding? I can't dance," she replied modestly. Well...it was true, at least. It wasn't Shenorai doing the dancing, but her ghost.

The bounty hunter's elbow propped up onto the table and her chin rested in the heel of her palm as she gazed out at the sea of dancers before her. Though when Vegnya spoke of jealousy, she couldn't help but turn to the masked beauty with curiosity.

"...someone was jealous?" she asked, half in disbelief. "Any clue who or couldn't you tell?"

Zeria awoke after a while and looked at herself in the mirror.

"God, I look aweful...I'd better clean up before heading back down"

She took a quick shower, changed, and redid her hair so it was in a bun with strands falling to the sides. Then, she grabbed her extra mask (she made two). She sighed as she made her way into the ballroom.

"I wonder if I can find someone to talk to..."

The white mage waved at Shenorai chidingly. "Come now, don't be so modest. You really are full of surprises. Think of it; it would make sense that you're able to keep up with the music since your professional background required you to exercise daily to keep yourself in shape." She lost herself for moment in another large gulp of the red wine, carefully placing the glass at the mouth opening of the porcelain mask. "I really should get a straw," she said submissively, disliking the idea of having to scratch each glass she used.

"...someone was jealous?" Shenorai inquired. "Any clue who or couldn't you tell?"

Vegnya was more than happy to satisfy Shenorai's curiosity. "I recognized the auburn hair, and I was able to make out the tattoo. So young and confused. It must be the harsh training from the Gardens. What can I expect from an S-Class SeeD?" Vegnya winked and left Shenorai momentarily for a straw.

Shenorai blinked at the mage as she left the table. Was it truly Zeria who was jealous of her? Her mind thought back to that dance with Julius. His laughter, his happiness, her thoughts causing her to flush...adding everything up and throwing in the person who would give her life for Lord Julius into the equation certainly had jealousy as the result.

Though...even if Shen was to see Zeria again...how would he explain to her that the two of them were merely friends? Seeing someone blushing in the arms of your lover would certainly make one suspect otherwise.

...Shen...
Hmm?
Don't overexert your mind tonight. You're supposed to be enjoying yourself.
True...
Shenorai glanced over to where the mage had disappeared to. ...you know...I've wondered...
Hmm?
How
does she eat or drink anything through that mask, anyway?
...

Zeria was beyond stressed. She made her way to a place where she could sit and got a glass of wine. It was a strong liquid, but she'd picked up a liking to it when she'd accidentally drank some of Julius' once. She sighed.

"I can't see anyone here I recognize...is there nothing I can do?"

Zeria aimlessly wandered through people and kept on the lookout for a familiar face, but with no avail after several minutes, she went back over to a wall and leaned against it, giving up.

As he returned to the dance hall, Arthvader spoted Zeria at the wall and headed towards her. Wanting to encourage her after the ordeal she had to deal with, he asked Zeria for a dance

Arthvader "It's been awhile, Zeria. Even though I'm not good at it, Would you care to dance with me?"

Zeria flushed a light pink color, cleary seen on her pale white skin.

"O...Oh. Um...sure. I guess a dance would be nice. I could use one...and besides, this song they're playing is so very beautiful..."

She linked arms with Arth and motioned to go out to the dance floor, smiling for the first time in a while now...

As they Danced to the song, Arthvader started asking Zeria a question.

Arthvader "How do you feel now, Zeria? Having a good time? Let's try to enjoy this for as long as we can."

remembering that they will soon have to eventually go to Castle Oblivion to confront Lucious. As the dance continues, Arthvader starts to remember all that has happened prior to this point.

'Will I have to face ExDeath again? Last time I fought him, If Julius hasn't been there to help me, I would've been done for. I'll help him defeat Lucious and bring an end to the evil.'

Just as the song was nearing to an end, He asked Zeria one last question.

Arthvader "Zeria, when the time comes for all of us to battle Lucious, will you be able to join us in defeating him?"

Zeria smiled sadly.

"You can count on it. I want Lucious dead more than anything. Then, Julius won't have to bear so much pain..."

Her eyes gleamed with a shimmer from the lighting and her lips curled to a smile.

"Then this will all be over...and we can all get back to our normal lives..."

((wow you all left me far way behind ;)))

Julius remained motionless holding his rapier all clouded with feelings of hatred and love. When he realized what happened, he was all alone. Julius sheathed his sword with a frustrated look on his face: he was failing everyone he cared for.

Suddenly he heard the voice of Loki, asking him if something was wrong. Julius nodded denying it, though it was evident that he wasn't alright. All of the sudden, Julius put himself with his best armor, and finest battle gear. Before leaving, Julius stopped and sighed.

"I have no right to drag them all to this nightmare I created. This war is my own and I should win it alone. It is my sin and my curse. No one should pay for it. Like I've always said: "Sinners need no mercy, nor sympathy". Farewell Loki. Please tell everyone that I'll miss them and remained Zeria that I lo.....never mind, tell her that there's nothing to forgive, that I was the only fool."

Julius picked up his Lion Heart gunblade and, alongside a red rose, he placed it on his bed.

"Give the gunblade to Zeria. Tell her that it's my last gift as his former comrade...good bye."

Julius left the room rushing towards the stairs. After climbing for about thirty minutes, he reached the Clock Tower. In there he summoned Lucious and challenged him to one last battle. To be honest, Julius was walking to his grave. Lucious gladly accepted and allowed Julius to enter the castle, blocking everyone (yes everyone) from accessing his own cursed room.

The battle was ferocious, the faced each other like raging dragons fighting over the right to rule over each other's life. After the horrendous bloodbath, both fighters remained staring at each other. Julius summoned all his power into an all out attack, but his mind was distracted by Zeria. Lucious used this as an opportunity and stroke Julius with his most powerful attack. After all the battle, after all the blood and tears that were shed, the outcome of this ruthless encounter was revealed: Julius laid defeated, bathed in his own blood.

Lucious: "Take him to the Laboratory. My brother can still be used for something."

In there they performed cruel experiments on Julius, transforming into something horrendous. The screams of the fallen lord could be heard echoing through the Fortress of Darkness, and a faint echo of his screams resounded through Castle Silverwing. It could be believed, that Lucious allowed his brother's screams to be heard in Castle Silverwing on purpose for he wanted them to come and dare to defy his sovereignty.

On a last attempt to prevent his friends, Julius tried to talk to Zeria using telephaty, his weak voice was supposed to echo inside her mind.

"Zeria....forgive me....I couldn't....I failed....please....don't come....I... I deserve this...this is my punishment...my just reward for allowing my brother's demise. Good bye...I'll miss you..."

Once again his screams could be heard echoing even louder than before, they were coming from the Clock Tower of Castle Silverwing (Julius is not there).

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH......iiiiiaaaaargh......"

*violent coughing*

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Don't....please!!!!....AHHHH!!!!"

Zeria froze out on the dance floor, having heard Julius' voice in her head.

"No...something's wrong...!"

Her eyes went wide and she pulled back from Arthvader.

"You'll have to excuse me. There's something I must do!"

She took off out of the ballroom and went to her quarters, practically tearing off the dress and putting on her normal gear. She let down her hair and put it back up in it's usual ponytail, then put on her greiver necklace that Julius had once given her, and strapped on her Hellfire Blade. She wished she'd had the Punisher with her. It would've eased her heavy heart. But no...something was really wrong. Julius was in trouble. Zeria finished getting everything she needed, then took off for Julius' room. If he wasn't there, she knew only one other way to find him. As she shot down the hallways at top speed, she attempted a short communication with Julius.

{Julius! It's...Zeria!....please.....where...where are you?! I'm....sorry.............wait for me....}

Zeria's attempt to communicate with Julius was foiled by Lucious' magic. Now Lucious was under full control and it seemed that there was no one left to stop him. The only change they could have would be to arrive to the Fortress of Darknes and go all the way to the top. In there they would face their greatest fears. Will they be willing to risk their live for aiding a friend?

Taking the role of Lucious...

Lucious took this as an opportunity and talked to Zeria on behalf of his brother.

"Sorry, but Julius is temporarily offline. Too bad you'll never have a chance to see the old Julius for he has been resurrected from the ashes of his mortal body. Now I have the strongest killing machine, my finest weapon! Enjoy the last minutes of life you have left. The apocalypse is upon us and I am the instrument of your doom..."

And so his voice was lost among the shadows guarded by the now eternal night.

Zeria skidded to a stop in the middle of the hallway, nearly knocking someone over.

"Sorry"

{No! Lucious! What have you done to him?!}

Zeria growled and started off down the hallway again, almost to Julius' room.

{Where the hell are you?! I'm going to end your bastardly life! And I swear, that I will take him back from you! You will not have him! If you know anything about love, you should know that it knows no bounds! NOW WHERE ARE YOU?!}

She stopped outside Julius' room and went in, spotting Loki.

"Who are you? And what do you....?"

Her sentence never finished, for she saw Julius' gunblade and a rose lying on his bed. She shed an angry tear and took them up, sheathing the gunblade and holding onto the rose.

"I'm sorry, Loki, but I'm taking these..."

With that, she left the room.

{Start talking Lucious...or else!}

As Lucious:

Lucious remained sitting on his throne holding a glass of wine. His eyes were filled with cruelty, with madness. He found torturing his own flesh and blood as entertaining as destroying innocent lives. Lucious was sick and twisted, his soul was darkened by his countless sins. Though Lucious was a victim too, he was a puppet of a greater monster. The true orchestrator of this madness, the creator of this madness was soon to make himself known to everyone. Lucious talked into Zeria's mind, trying to brake her seemingly unyielding will.

"So Zeria, have you found the necessary courage to stop me? Don't you realize that if Julius couldn't stop me, you have little chances of success if you were to fight me alone. You must be either brave....or quite foolish. Oh well, you are pathetically in love...how sweet....it's annoying! Shut your dirty mouth you worthless maggot and save me the necessity of killing you myself!!! Now summon me no more or I'll make this personal...I am warning you..."

Zeria growled deeply, her viper yellow eyes turning to a dark greenish-yellow.

{You want personal?! It's already personal! You took away that which I most cherish! Now tell me where you are! I want to fight you!}

As she stood in the hallway, screaming at Lucious mentally, one hand had reached up and was gently running over the hilt of the Lion Heart gunblade. She couldn't wait to give it back to Julius in person. That would be a moment of great joy, when she could see his smiling face again. He'd forgiven her...that was all she needed to keep going. Zeria debated on whether to go alone or not, but she decided that this was a battle she didn't want anyone else to get involved in. If someone was hurt because of her, she would never forgive herself. Besides, no matter what, she was still a little upset with Shenorai and Vegnya. Arth and FFGuy had tried to help her as best they could, and now they were the ones who deserved rest. This was going to be a tough fight all alone...but her mind was set on one thing and one thing only. Julius.

Just as Zeria left the dance hall, Arthvader wondered what happened?

'Did something just happened... Huh, what is this I'm sensing?'

He then sensed that one of his allies was in danger. After noticing that everyone but Julius was here, He realized that something must've happened to him.

'If this is the reason why Zeria left. I might as well join and help out. Even if it will cost me my life.'

He then left the ball room to find Zeria. He eventually found her in the hallway.

Arthvader "Zeria, I think I know what just happened. Just as you left, I sensed that someone was in danger. I already figured out that something has happened to Julius. If that's the case, I'll go and bring an end to this. If you want to join, you are welcome to do so."

As Lucious:

The doors of the Fortress of Darkness remained closed, like silent sentries watching over those who were foolish enough to stand before them trying to enter. The doors were in fact, demons in disguise waiting for Lucious' command. Even though Lucious knew that Zeria would try to enter, he ordered the possessed doors to remain closed until at least there or more of fighters stood before them. Once Zeria and two others faced the gate, the demons would take physical form and attack them. This will be their first trial.

The second hall, an exact copy of the ballroom in Castle Silverwing will be the place in which the second trial will take place. Lucious has casted a powerful spell transforming it into a warp room. Those who wish to continue must face their inner fears alone. If they don't have what it takes to overcome this test, they will never come out of this fortress alive.

Now here's were we question ourselves, wondering if they are ready for the nightmares that are about to come.

(In other words, you have a chance to make your best RP post against your own nemesis. Give it your best shot!)

As Shenorai awaited for the return of the white mage, she could've sworn she heard the pained screams of desperation emerging from the dark corners of the castle. Though, was it-?

Shen...that's Julius! The ghost cried out to her.

Her fears were already answered with this horrifying turn of events. The bounty hunter pulled the mask from her face and placed it onto the table, picking up the hem of her dress and running full-speed to her quarters. The remainder of the dancing couples seemed to fly by her and soon, whatever music was left had faded behind her. As she ran, she pulled the hair clips from her ebony locks, allowing them to cascade down onto her back. Somewhere along the way, she even lost her shoes as she ran; the clack of her shoes replaced with the slapping of bare feet onto the icy floor.

The door to her quarters had burst open, soon thrown shut by the clammy hands of the young woman. Her dress was cast carelessly onto her bed, feathers and all. In about five minutes time, Shenorai stood in front of the mirror, staring at the reflection that she knew best. Her breastplate was secure beneath her coat and her shotgun was strapped to her right leg. The pack upon her back carried whatever ammunition she had left, along with some necessities if wherever she ended up required staying in.

Like a loyal friend and ally, Leondra stood behind her. With her armor and her swords, it appeared that she would fight to the death and beyond with Shen. Just as the bounty hunter was about to leave, the ghost halted her.

You'll need extra weapons.
"...why? You're coming with me; you have all the weapons I need."
...I just have a bad feeling about the events to come...if Lucius was to claim my sou-
"Don't say things like that," Shen interrupted. "Of course he won't."
Shen, would you please listen?
Silence answered her plea.
...if Lucius was to claim me, you would have no other weapon to fight him with if you run out of ammunition. I insist that you at least take a sword with you, if not two.
"...you had better be wrong for once, Leondra," Shen muttered.

Shenorai walked over to her bed, crouching down and feeling beneath the mattress. Hoping she didn't slice into the soft box of feathers, Shen pulled out a belt carrying a pair of short swords, each held on by a tough leather loop. She stood up straight again, fastening the belt around her waist.

...are you sure you know what you're doing, Shen?
"Kinda late to be asking that."
But are you?
"No one fucks with my friends and gets away with it, Leondra."
I hope we survive this.

Shenorai gave a single nod. And with that, she had left her chambers, the door wide open. The dulled stomping of her worn boots against the floor followed the sounds of suffering in the direction of the clock tower. Though she thought she saw a couple people standing in the halls, it didn't matter. She ran past them, her heart pounding and her blood rushing with adrenaline and determination.

...no one fucks with my friends...no one!

Hejaloki did as Julius said and heard the screams of Julius.

He made his way up the tower. As he walked he donned his armor of light.

Hejaloki knew who the demon was that controlled Lucious. He was unsure of how to separate the two. Also what worried him more was how did that demon survive from so many years ago.

He saw the others in the Hall. Hejaloki sent his challenge out to Lucious and the demon behind him.
