so my brother told me of a news story today about a teenager murdering his girlfriend, it was big in the news about a year ago, and in the story it says that the guy being called phsyo over some drawings he did. they say their too dark for a teenager to draw.... i'll show you the story and then show something

people should reconize them drawings, as they are infacy anima, valfour and baharmet from FFX, and the guy being called crazy

what do you guys think, i think they should research it more before they say he gone crazy

I think hes crazy for murdering his girlfriend. Not for drawing FFX pictures. I did that when i was 13 and i never murdered my girlfriend or anything like that.
But anything to shift the blame from the crazy person who needs metal help to something like film television and games etc is a common element these days.
Common as a shitty spam thread on fff !

There is no connection whatsoever. It just ties in to this whole debate that has been going on with violence. He killed his girlfriend because of his girlfriend, not because he admires the badassery of FF summons. The next time I hear media put the blame on inanimate objects, I'm going to go postal myself :D

is this the guy who killed his girlfriend for a burger or something? i remember that being all over the place a couple of years ago.

it's worth pointing out that that newspaper article is in a tabloid, most likely the sun or mirror, and they will print any kind of bollocks to sell their rag

The guy they claimed killed a lass over a breakfast you mean Pooley?

I can see why it looks bad to people who are not familiar with fainaru fantaji, a killer who drew pictures of monsters. Obviously there is no tangible connection between the two, but it must look strange to an outsider.

I remember the breakfast murder thing.

Reading some of the passage. His twisted drawings are sinister and so demonic you cant help but hes using them to express who he really is:lew: Then the psychologist says how creative they are. They're not creative, they are taken straight from a game -.-

A young lassie died and i dont mean to sound disrespectful about that but reading the passage about his drawings really just makes you think get fucking real. As final fantasy fans we know what they are and he was obviously a final fantasy fan who enjoyed drawing..just like many people on this site do. The whole thing about the drawings being inner reflective just makes me roll my eyes. If they took zee time to doo a leetle research...etc.
Its sad the lassie was killed but newspaper articles can be so patronising to read, they really can.

Ugh, I hate fan"art" that looks exactly like the artwork for a game or whatever. That Anima looks like it was traced! :( At least draw it in a different pose or something rather than make an exact copy. It isn't the least bit creative. -_-

But that's besides the point...

I can't believe the news actually went through with this! I know you hear so much bollocks in the news these days, but this is beyond. I get the impression that whoever ran this story assumed that these drawings had something to do with devil worship or what have you. Even for an outsider I really don't see how someone could have looked at those "drawings" and the fact that he killed his girlfriend, put two and two together and decided he had a few loose screws in his head. Seriously. -_-

Im just tired of people blaming everything else but the person for their actions. It's irritating.

"Drawings Reveal Mind of Psycho"

Seriously?

I drew Pokemon and FFX FFX-2 pictures when I was younger and I was and still am mentally stable.

I don't know why they always feel the need to try and connect all the dots even if they make no bloody sense! "Oh yes he drew a lot of crazy looking creatures, therefore he must of been unstable and had dark thoughts and this is why he killed his girlfriend."

Half the time the person has no issues and is perfectly fine until one day they just snap and you would have never seen it coming!

This is why in the "Miserable People" thread I said that the person who was always talking about their issues to me and was diagnosed with stuff was most likely just too negative about their life, not having whatever "disease" they were accusing them of having. Of course they're demonic drawings! It's aeons from Final Fantasy! LOL! xD

I can see why everyone is frustrated, but think about it - if you had no clue what FF was and you were a psychologist looking at these pictures, you would probably think the same thing. But, yes, they should have done more research about his hobbies and the graphics before saying what they did. Also, the photo with him doing his gun pose is kind of funny...because a lot of people do that, but that doesn't mean that they're psychotic - they're just copying the stance they see in movies and TV when someone is about to shoot a gun to express the action, most likely because they're just joking around.

This reminds me a lot of what Eminem says in his raps about him and Marilyn Manson being blamed for kids' violent actions, when it's those kids who CHOOSE to listen to their music as an OUTLET and UNDERSTANDING for their problems because they feel like nobody else understands how they feel but these artists who are feeling just the same way they do and saying all the right words to express it, the same reason why all of us listen to music a lot of the time. Maybe their music does influence their anger and rage about their lives to increase, but it's not what makes them go out and shoot up schools like the Columbine High School shooting that happened years back that Marilyn Manson was blamed for. Those kids just provoke themselves and let that increased rage lead to that elevation. It's their own internal life issues. Instead of blaming whatever they're listening to or playing, people should be looking at who they are and what events happen in their lives to have such anger; most likely that's what they want and need from people, attention and understanding which is why they listen to and play the things they do - NOT to start blaming their music or video games. Those things may be be their outlet, so by blaming that instead of paying attention to the kid, it's like you're blaming the kid, making them look to be even more of a fool than they already feel and look to society. If you wanna do that, might as well get rid of all music and video games, as they all have negative effects.

But then you have those little kids who ram cars into stuff or shoot someone and flat out say that they saw it in Grand Theft Auto and wanted to try it out. Well...those kids are usually smaller kids who don't have that form of responsibility yet or mindless, bad, "Jackass"-like teenagers who want to rebel. I would ask why the kid is even able to play it, but then again, I saw it when I was little because my brother played it and played it myself because of him having it and my neighbors, lol. There is always a way! But, see, they LET me play it, so I guess a solution to that is if you see your kids playing an extremely adult and violent game, take it away from them, yell at them, and threaten to smash their system...with the literal action intended, lol. IDK - I guess that goes into the idea of parents having to truly step up and be parents, but I'm not a parent yet, so how would I really know. Kids really will find their ways and sometimes no matter what you say or do, they're just not going to listen to you until they learn themselves. It all goes back to the kid.

Of course, there IS such thing as too much violence and nudity, but I think as a culture we know where the line is and try to not market anything like that. If something violent or nude is allowed to market, their is usually a rating, yet people and kids just manage to get them somehow the way we are just able to somehow hack games and have free mp3s of the music that we want. We do our best; some things just manage to go through.
