Terra's the main character!!?

Terra was who I thought was the main character. They did a good job though making the game with no main character. Everyone has there little moments of the spot light so its hard to say who is in the lead. Terra is just what the game is about so thats why she takes the torch.
 
There is a lot of speculation on this. My opinions:

Locke is the main male lead while Terra and Celes are the main chars. Terra and Celes kinda switch roles and I won't spoil how. Terra, however, is still known as the main character, as confirmed by Dissidia.

EDIT: Another note to add is that Terra has more alloted time play. She has more products and is used more than any other character and has more memorable scenes and experiences.

It's a line-up between Terra, Locke, and Celes. You each solo as them throughout the game a lot, and they're interwoven with the final enemy a lot. Dissidia, the new game that came out, would lead us to believe that Terra is the 'official' main character, yes... But I wouldn't mind it. Just wait until you learn of her past. She makes for a good character, especially a mainline one.
 
isnt it a little like with tidus and yuna? i dont know but i always saw yuna as the main character because it was more about her than tidus even if tidus still was important :p but tidus was more the main hero. maybe its the same with terra and locke? terra is the main character and locke is the hero?

but i agree, i didnt really think anyone was more important than the others, but i didnt think about all characters... i dont remember their names but some like the ninja and the little girl and the old man didnt really seem very important to me. or that crazy wild boy :P

Although quite frankly, I'm surprised Locke didn't go "WHUH!?" when he found a girl with -naturally- green hair on the ground. I can easilly sum up everyone's roles and importance, though. There are spoilers, so I'll place them in a nifty spoiler tag. ^^

Terra: Half human, half esper. Traverses the beginning of the story as the main character, looking to find the truth of her past. She's also the only one who can cast magic for a while. She's the 'true' main character for the first quarter of the game.

Locke: A thief... er... treasure hunter, remorsing over his long lost love. Tends to protect every woman he finds in danger adamantly. Can steal items. He plays the role of the main character after Terra unlocks her esper half for the first time and flies away. Keeping his promise to protect her, he begins a quest to find her first before attempting to take on the empire. He's the main character for the second quarter of the game.

Celes: An imperial general turned traitor, was being held captive under S. Figaro. After being saved by Locke, it was revealed she could naturally use magic after experiments by the empire were done on her. Locke vows to protect her as well. After Kefka blasts away the world as it was, she goes on a quest to find her friends again, as well as Locke. She becomes the main character for the whole second half of the game.

Final Fantasy VI Main Character???

I never really thought about this till now, but i always wondered who would be the most sutible for the lead role in FF6, because there were 14 playable characters in the game and most of them played a big part in devoloping the game's story. What do you guys think? :unsure:
 
I always believed that FFVI had no main character, and most of the plot was centered around Kefka, possibly making him the main character if their indeed was one. However, if I had to choose a main character amongst all of the playable characters I would choose Terra.
