Haha I know what you mean as well, I remember playing FFVIII for the first time and I was about 14 or 15 and thinking that Squall was pretty cute but now I am 19 so it's not the same anymore. I liked it when I was younger than the heroes of the game! I still like to think of them as older than me otherwise they make me feel old, I think they are more mature than I am anyway haha. It's weird playing VIII now and realizing that I'm older than the main characters. It's pretty scary!

Umm......Rinoa was really immature. I'm not saying that because I dislike her but she was just very immature character.

As for older guys like Cids (FFVII, FFVIII etc.), Galuf, and as young as Eiko don't really bother me. It's just the whole young teenage cast kinda makes me feel old. I do appreciate that in some games the main characters are different ages such as in FFX.

They should made FF-game where every main character is over 40. And then one where all are over 70 and their fight-meters go very slow and everything they do is slow and they would forget things. Even during fights they forgot how to cast Blizzaga. That would be fun.

At least I wish someone would do parody like this. Not a whole game just some funny animation. Too bad I suck with animation.

I dunno. In some ways it's really more fun to have a young cast, because frankly younger=hotter. Also, younger=more likely to make mistakes, and more likely to have meaningful character growth.

But I can see how it seems really incongruous to have such young people saving the world. I know my sister for some reason is annoyed when a relatively young cast somehow become heroes.
