So yes this is in chapter XI when you get to gran pulse. This place is so HUGE and I just love walking around and seeing all the monsters fighting eachother and all The Admantoises walking. The scenery is so beautiful in this area. Its a great place to train also but beware of tough monsters. I love when I bump into an Admantoise for no reason and the *stomp* I am dead xD. Oh not to mention Behemoth Kings :rage: So what do you think of this brilliant place? Its just so awesome I had to make a thread about it xD

Its stunning :D

I love just walking around, taking it all in-- , looking at the sky, the environment, listening to the music, watching the wind blow through my mains hair, watching the wildlife chase each other and *sighs*

Beautiful. So prehistoric, watching the adamantoise adn wyverns in particular gives you that feeling. Once I spent about 15 minutes just walking around and looking. :P

It pretty much looks how heaven would look for me personally.

It is pretty amazing, especially when you notice that it is actually much bigger than you originally get to see, that made me happy :ryan:

But yeah the monsters are great fun, sonn to get more fun for me :ryan: Although there are a couple of scary ones I'm not looking forward to.

The whole area has quite obviously had a lot of attention paid to it unlike in some other games, and I love every bit of it.

When i saw that 'Adamantine' i was like *shiiit!* those things are BIG! still can't beat em :D

Okay, so I've managed to get to the point where I can take out an Adamanchelid with relative ease. I don't know if I'll ever test my battle prowess out on the tusked ones yet though. :wacky:

Anyways, first time I got there I knew for sure this was training central. I think my first one was a Behemoth King and I died when it kept Sundering me when its health was low. :sad3:

The steppe is vast, expansive, detailed, alive - it's everything I have thought it would be. This is what FFXIII has been missing in the last 25-30 hours I have played. There is some exploration to do and sidequests. It is a location that sets itself apart from previous FF games. All the monsters - some chasing each other - some fighting each other - the place does feel alive.

It does feel rather intimidating as well. The few Adamantoises stomping around are gargantuan just as I expected. The prospect of being squished to death in one hit by them doubles the intimidation for me. But I don't mind. :ryan:

I want to use it as a grinding spot. Which monsters I am going to kill over and over again I'm not entirely sure at the moment. The Behemoth Kings are tough for me at the moment. I've killed a couple - but the last few goes I have had turned my party into soup. >_>

For me, it was more fun going back later in the game when I could actually kill a decent amount of the monsters, and there are a bunch of missions. When I first got there, I could only really complete the first five missions, but seeing how much I progressed is the real fun.

I could kill mostly everything now including Adamantoises with Death xD. I still do not have the Long Guis on the map because I need to beat Attacus. I killed 3 or so Adamantoises now xD. But he does not want to drop platinum ingot and Trapezohedron -__-

It's amazing. I just love seeing the monsters roam the area, the flying creatures soar the sky in the distance. The music is great too.

I'm sure most people thought of to take on an Adamantoise the first time entering the land or at least think of it. :P

Near the end of the area there's a wee bit that kind of sticks out (I have no idea of the specific name D: ) but there's lots of little groups of Imps and such. Relatively easy to kill, get between 1740-3300 cp depending on the group size. and they respawn usually when you move to the next group :) I spent a good few hours here and maxed my characters out as much as I could and had an extra 100,000+ cp ready for when the crystarium expanded. That's the place I'd probably recommend :)

Quick question to all of you who are further than me. Ive been grinding away, not for too long. Ive done like 6 or 7 hunts and nothing has really been super challenging. Annoying but I can beat em.

So my question is, when is a good time to move on, I know I wont be able to take everything down until post story. But when would it be a comfortable idea to leave stat wise?

See, now, I ran into the Adamantoise on purpose just once. I know everyone here has done it too. You just had to see how far you could get. Well, I get into the battle, and a second later, we're dead. X-x Just one stomp. I couldn't believe it~!! XD It was crazy! I'm gonna get my revenge eventually, of course.

Anyway, but I do quite enjoy the area. It is reminiscent of the prior Final Fantasy games with the expansive landscapes that I so dearly adore. Not to mention it's a great place to train. I just beat up those little gremlins that are usually dancing around the treasure spheres. :3

When I saw the opening cinematic when entering this area, I thought 'Woh'.
I spend a bit of time running around, and avoiding creatures. I also notice that large land creatures - Behemoth Kings, and those dinosaur-type ones - 'pop in and out' when you head towards and away from them. Anyone else noticed that?
So far, I'm doing the 4th Mark mission. Confused about the story behind those Cie'th Stones. Even reading the Datalog doesn't help much.

Its beautiful and breath taking and has the nastiest normal enemy encounters in final fantasy history it took me 120 hours in the game to finally beat a long guy this guys are nasty you actually get an achievement for beating them.
