The Better love story?

Wow has the entire FF community gone insane? Laguna's story rivaling Squall's in any way? What's wrong with you people? At most Laguna's entire story was an interesting backdrop. I personally found it highly annoying and couldn't wait to get back to the REAL game: Squall's story. Squall and Rinoa's love story is the best in FF history, rivaled only by Tidus and Yuna's. I didn't mind their story taking over the entire game because it was so good. It was the entire point of the game. It's why I keep replaying it (God knows it isn't the gameplay lol).

Please refrain from bashing and insulting members of this community just because your "opinions" differ from theirs. You can easily state your opinion, beliefs, and reasons without the debasing involved in your post.

really squalls is happy and laguna's is tragic, period thats what separates them. but I love laguna's SO MUCH MORE. because laguna's was more of a real life type. I mean he was acting like a scared school boy talking to julia which was so human of him. plus sadly nobody ever falls in love with the girl of their dreams and stays that way for long. Laguna's story was so real because it didn't end up happy, just like life, which is what makes it better.

plus eyes on me was really meant for him and just was used for squall and rinoa
 
I think Laguna and Julia was just a crush, that never had the chance to develop into anything more serious, while Laguna and Raine's is just a tragic love story, like they were truly in love with each other but couldn't ever really be together. While Rinoa's and Squall's we are told far more about the two characters, and we spend the whole game just waiting for the two of them to get together, so when they finally do it's very very satisfying xD
 
This is a tough one, I think overall Laguan and Raine was the better love story, it felt complete, if not even until the end cut scene showing what happened between them in the past. But watching squall and riona was great, not so much her, but watching squall develop from this cold distant bastard to someone who is finally able to show his feelings was very good, and the character development with squall was so amaing, its hard to choose between the two, but overall I would have to say Laguna becase it felt complete and not a little forced
 
It is apples to oranges. Laguna and Julia was the classic love story: True love, compatible, impossible and tragic. They are destined to be together, but can't. It is very Romeo and Juliet.

Squall and Rinoa are the contemporary "opposites attract." They should not be able to stand eachother, but they love eachother and help eachother to grow. It is very romantic comedy: "Pretty Woman" esque.

Ultimately I think that both are compelling and add to the story

Yes, reiterating what has been previously mentioned, Laguna's story with Julia was just a mere crush that couldn't develop for many reasons, one being Laguna's career as a Galbadian Soldier, secondly his many travels around the world and the distance between both characters. Julia just found General Caraway and marrieed him because he also was the best shot she had, and Laguna was just a soldier. Laguna then had an affair with Raine and somehow managed to overcome Julia's memory. However, Raine died later on and Laguna was left alone again. (But he later revives her using the Lunatic Pandora if I recall correctly)

Squall's story was kinda one we see often nowadays. Two people (or at least one of the two) can't stand each other at first and are constantly fighting and avoiding each other. Then as their story continues Squall grows more and more attached to Rinoa and vice versa. It is not when Squall is about to loss Rinoa when he realizes he can't hide his feelings any longer. Squall didn't wanted to fall in love, but Rinoa's constant harrassment did the trick :wacky:

So which is the best? Neither, both love stories are good on their own perspectives.

I wouldnt really call it an affair, seeing by the time julia and laguna had seperated and laguna meeting raine much time had passed.
Also whats this about laguna reviving raine?? that doesnt happen im pretty sure. Where did you get that idea? xD
 
I personally disliked Laguna. Maybe that's only because I liked Squall so much more...Anyways, I really liked the Squall+Rinoa and I really got attached to them...although i hated using rinoa in combat so i used squall, quistis, and zell
