~*The Brush and Easel*~

Well, I know women have small noses, but I think it's still too small. I guess it just needs to be wider on the sides.

And I think these might be one of the images that would look good in watercolor, so if you do end up coloring it, some light colors might be a good choice. But if you need more experience coloring faces, it's good practice anyways.

And it's also refreshing to know there are still people here actively seeking critique.

I'm in a really creative mood lately, so I'm doing all sorts of research on how to draw faces. Yeah, I know the nose is really off but I wasn't sure what it was, maybe you're right...the nose is probably way too small. :hmmm:

Let me see if I can alter that a bit.

Yet another amazing drawing. :) A simple enough sketch but still very beautiful work nonetheless. I think my favorite part is the eye - it really managed to captivate me, the viewer. I do have to agree that the nose (while it looks cute) does seem to be a bit off especially since we're viewing it in profile view. Other than that, great shading skills and all that jazz.

Makes me wanna start a new drawing. Last time I touched my sketchbook was late February. :hmmm:

So I was bored at work:

Dayum, these are very good! And you used pen too...

What kind of creatures are they? xD You just conjured them up in your mind or something? Interesting little fellas, most notably the one on the right (first photo). He sorta looks deformed in a quite artistic way, and I think it's how you angled him that makes him really stand out.

But anyway, I really love drawings like this, where everything is random. It makes it fun to look at, and all the details and use of cross-hatching shading is something that intrigues me. You did an excellent job here, and I can really sense that you had fun while doing it - it shows through your work, and that's saying a lot. :)

Keep it up!

Thanks Mitsuki. :awesome:

Another update. This one I'm already coloring. I did this during down time at work and I figured I can donate it to Vikki for her future RP work. :andry:

^ I still need to finish this. :vikki:

Slight update: I was bored today after getting destroyed by the first troll in Infinite Undiscovery so I decided to do some doodling in Photoshop. Gotta say it ate up some time and it was kind of fun going about with this. :wacky:

1.) Gah! Stupid Troll!:

Those are ace :lew:

get that other one finished, it's looking amazing, would be a crime to forget about it!

It's been aaaaaages, and I haven't drawn seriously in a long long time. But I have finally come up with more crap. I'm currently trying to figure out the correct proportions of faces and bodies and stuff like that and so I thought of doing a theme of realistic anime characters. Granted, the only one I've done so far isn't all that realistic, but it's still closer than I've ever come so I'll take that as a victory. :(

Realistic Nami (One Piece)? Facial proportion study:

Thats awesome Jay!
I love the way you did her hair and eyes :ohoho: it even manages to still look like her even though it's drawn in a more realistic way!

Nice!

Thank you, Tonby. :jay:

Here is more realisticky One Piece:

I'm starting to draw more hands now so hopefully I can get out of portraits and into figure drawing. It would be nice to draw realistic anime in context. :jay:

Jay, your work is absolutely incredible! I should really get back into drawing. Do you look at other pictures as you draw?

Thank you, Judy. :ari: And you should, I haven't seen artwork from you in a while.

And no, I don't actually have models for these, if that's what you mean. I only look at pictures when I'm unsure of something, such as how to shade this part or that part. I also look at hair references just so I can get the hair right for the specific character I'm drawing.
