The Dark Aeons

The only one I beat legit was Valefor. I couldn't be bothered taking on the rest without the help of faithful Yojimbo. I even owned Penance with him.

And don't say it's a completely cheap tactic. Getting all that cash is an achievement worthy of it's own kind of praise.
 
well it`s not really cheating to use Yojimbo considering the fact Zanmato is insanely hard to get even if you use large amounts of gil
 
I found them quite easy to beat to begin with. Because I levelled up my characters to the max, along with their Celestial Weapons so they took away 99,999 HP all the time and were pretty much protected by everything. Their stats were also up to 255, well most of them so the battles were easy. Although I admit I used Yojimbo's Zanmato on the Magus Sisters xD The most difficult for me was Dark Yojimbo, because you have to fight ihim 5 times V.V
 
I don't understand what's so hard about Yojimbo. Yes, he has Zanmato, and yes you have to fight him 5 times, but Zanmato can be easily thwarted by summoning an Aeon, Overdrive him, then essentially let the Aeon stay up until he uses Zanmato. Fighting him multiple times is nothing troublesome. There's a convenient save sphere in the cave, so it's just a process of repeating yourself. Takes a while, granted, but I don't see Yojimbo as being hard. I recall beatong Dark Valefor with only my main party; with no summoning. I didn't deal max damage at the time, but I still caned him with Attack Reels, and Blitz Ace. Magic was ineffective, essentially, so I just stuck to physically bashing them. I think out of the lot of them, at the time, Shiva and Bahamut gave me the most trouble. Yes, Dark Anima had more HP, and an unblockable 'Pain', but that was easily undone by Auto-Phoenix. Oblivion was countered with Aeons and/or Auto-Life, so I didn't fret in that battle. Well, the time it took hacked me off.:mad:
 
Well if you touch the save sphere in between battles then you have to start the whole process again. I saved my game after defeating him in round 1, and then he wasn't there in the next part of the cave and so I went back and found him at the start again. Although, I think you can touch the save sphere, but just not save the game. I'll check that.
 
Odd, I don't recall having that be an issue. I saved, healed, and he was still there for the second encounter.

This strikes me as quite strange. :/
 
Yeah if you save the game you start back to 1st yojimbo fight but you can touch the save point and still fight the yojimbo you're on still.
I found bahamut and magus sisters hardest cause MS-they start with full overdrive and bahamut- impulse= full break and takes away all positive status effects including auto-life.

Well, that certainately cleared it up, though, I'll not feel certain about it until I do it myself, so...
 
uhuh if you save and die you will have to start from the first yojimbo if i am correct there are 5 battles with him and 2 battles with Ixion haha both of whoom i havent defeated yet i have beaten i think 5 dark aeons including Bahamut and anima but unlike you all i did not use Yojimbo and my highest hp is 23,500 with yuna everyone else is on 15,000+
what is this tonberry cheat i keep hearing about?
 
I beat them all exept Penance without Yojimbo, Penance is a pain in the butt! But im working on my stats to get everyone to 99,999 HP.
 
ok,,, now i see.... so the shiva that i fight was 1 of the dark aeon... i just managed to encounter shiva accidentally..but i got beaten up b4 i even managed to hold the controller:( ei can i ask how many dark aeon? is it the same number of the actual aeons?
 
yes there is as much dark aeons are as the real ones

The Magus sisters are harder to defeat than Penance himself if you fight all three at once
 
I don't think they were hard at all although my characters can KO them w/ one hit since they hit over 9999. Although I'd always have a promblem w/ killing the Magus Sisters since they had such high evasion. So I always killed the weakest starting off w/ Mindy, then I'd kill Sandy then Cindy. Since Cindy kept on casting White Magic on herself such as Auto Life while letting her sisters die which I always thought was funny.

Ok, I'll put it simple...the more Aeons you have the more Dark Aeons you'll have to fight....so that means that if you get Anima, Yojimbo, or the Magus Sisters, you will be in a real serious problem if your characters stat are low.

Well you don't have to fight them right away you can just keep training

What is everyone's stats when you beat them ? I had 255 in every stats except luck and 20-30k hp and 999 mp
 
Alright i'm trying to get Anima so when i went to baaj temple i only had two speres activate and i know one was bevelle idunno what the other one was but anyway i went back to besaid to try to get the thing and i couldn't get in, i couldn't get in any i thought you only couldn't go back to bevelle but i can't go back to any is there any way to go back to the temples.
