The Dark Knight Rises

Lindy Hemming told British GQ that Bane's signature jacket took her a year to design and construct. She said, "Bane was meant to look like a cross between a dictator and a revolutionary." Christopher Nolan also revealed that the mask that Bane wears is meant to deliver a pain-relieving anesthetic. He explained, "Bane is ravaged by pain from a trauma suffered long ago"

This poster featuring Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle gives one of the best looks yet at her catsuit. You can see the textured fabric, her belt (which looks not too dissimilar to Batman's utility belt), and the goggles that hide her face and give the appearance of cat's ears on her head.

They just confirmed the run time for the movie...and it's the longest in the trilogy...running in at 164 minutes.....Dark Knight was 152 minutes....god be prepared to take a cushion with you :D. I'm definitely looking forward to this!

Damn, I don't think I'll be going at midnight for this one, then. Don't really like crowded theaters much anyways.

I cannot believe how big Tom Hardy had to get for this role 8( he's packing on some serious muscle 8(

anyway, other then the Avengers, this was the only other comic book film that I've been waiting for. I'm a big fan of Nolan and what he's done with this once laughable comic-book movie franchise--I think the Dark Knight will be hard to beat out but I know this will be nonetheless amazing to watch.

I'm actually hoping to get to see this in theaters so I'm crossing my fingers that i actually get to. The action scenes look amazing on my small 10 inch laptop so it must be mindblowing on the big screen.

:inlove:

I preferred Batman Begins to the Dark Knight so I'm hoping Rises is better than both of them.

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS. I have waited four long years, I hope it is amazing. :mokken: It looks promising. I'm glad it's still Christian Bale. Although I can't stand Anne Hathaway as an actress :gonk:

I'm a bit underwhelmed by the look of the movie so far. I'll still see it as it is Batman, and I hope that it is good, but nothing is really pulling me to it.

I've only seen Anne Hathaway in a few things, so I can't really imagine what she'd be like... But I think Pfeiffer is a very hard act to follow there.

Not sure what to expect for this movie, but perhaps it will be good. I've just been a bit surprised that I've not heard as much about the movie than I have for other comic book movies. Perhaps it is because I'm simply out of the loop.

the buzz for rises has been going on for months. they've had some amazing viral advertising for it, like the street graffiti in cities all over the world.

i just read literally a few minutes ago that chris nolan is cutting completely all ties with batman after dark knight rises. he isn't going to produce for dc in the future.

What about Man of Steel?

Strange indeed. I just can't see it working for Anne Hathaway. I agree, Marion Cotillard would have owned it. :gonk:

Considering Christopher Nolan had cast Cotillard in Inception, he could have used her but clearly thought Hathaway was right for the role. I trust his judgement, she can be a very good actress.

I think itl be interesting to see how this film is perceived by the critics. As much as i liked the first Dark knight film its easily (imo of course) the most overrated film of all time. It holds the rank on IMDB as the 8th greatest film ever and that is just ridiculous to me. A good film it is but Heath ledgers death and the publicity surrounding it fueled the fire. Like dropping a propane tank into a bonfire. It exploded.

I consider myself a big movie fan and a film geek. Ive seen and own so many films that to me are masterpieces of cinema. Films that overshadow the dark knight. Like i said before though its a good film and i enjoyed it a lot. Always preferred Batman begins though. So il definitely be watching this. Probably not int he cinema and i doubt il buy it at release. I like to wait til films come down in price a bit. I think il keep away from reading the reviews until after ive seen the movie for myself. Hype can really kill a film.

lol I didnt even know who Heath Ledger was until he played the Joker. Seriously The Dark Knight is not overrated at all it deserves its spot and more!!!
I loved every freeking thing of it. No one else could possibly have portraited the Joker so well as Heath Ledger has done.

Seriously the turning point for me when I really believed the insanity of the Joker was when he fell down from the skyscraper and litterally laughed his ass off while falling. He wasnt screaming but laughing..that was for me personally a wow moment.

Also the why so serious parts etc. disappearing pencil haha.
The joker still won when he made Two Face Harvy Dent flip sides. Epic movie.

Even the intro when he told those fellow robbers to kill off the other guys when they were done with their tasks. Man JOKER is beast.

Chris Nolan gave Batman a realistic spin.

Its like ok what if superheroes were real? How would they be? Its nothing like in the comics. Spandex small outfits that wont protect you from anything.
Here Batman has real armor, kevlar or carbon perhaps and he alters in voice because if Batman was real he would do that or people would easily recognise his voice.

I loved The Dark Knight!

Also check out the animation movie BATMAN YEAR ONE, its imo on par with Batman Begins.

Heath Ledger was pretty famous for being in Brokeback Mountain in 2005. I personally disliked his Joker, though. I much prefer Mark Hamill's Joker. The Dark Knight was good, but it is extremely overrated. For me it didn't exactly live up to the hype, so I enjoyed Begins a lot more.

I completely agree. She would have done catwoman amazingly. :hmmm:

I think anne hathaway is good, but marion would have been way way wayyy better.
