[SU&D] The Epicenter Maze
Abilities: Everyone will have restrictions on their original abilities, more than likely. There is a mechanic in this RP that I call the SoulSpike. It is a magical device that is implanted into you through both body and soul. This is what connects you to the Maze. If you remove it, you sever the tie between yourself and your universe. I dare someone to do it so the others can see what will happen.
There are multiple universes of what can be and is. One small change can send it veering off in an entirely different direction. At the epicenter of this tangle of possibilities and realities is a simple worldlet, not connected to anything at all. Built long before universes intertwined, it houses a flat plane of existence: a 25x25 square grid.
Made of mile square tiles, these form a constantly shifting landscape where tropical rainforest can change to desert with only a tiles difference. On one of these shifting tiles is a citadel of white stone. This is the lair of The Chained One. Bound since the beginning of this plane’s existence, he is trapped on that single tile. Despite this, he has power enough to stage a series of games to pit people plucked from time lines and universes against each other, the winner being granted release from the maze and one desire granted.
Always at night these tiles move, but not all of them or even one of them. Sometimes they swap places with others and other times there seems to be no pattern at all.
You have two choices: Kill off everyone else in the tourney, or defeat The Chained One.
Should you defeat The Chained One, all others who are left alive will return with you but you will lose the chance to have your desire granted.
But the fate of this game is not chained in place. Is all you can do is just play the game?

The SoulSpike also acts as a limiter. In this respect it modifies your abilities to make fights more evenly matched. So even if your character can move at the speed of light, the SoulSpike will reduce it to make it a fairer fight- you will still be fast, just not nearly as fast. The limiter function will act differently on everyone; it may turn out that some characters will not be limited. Moderation is the key.
The soulspike looks like a bit of the night sky. It glimmers in the light. Not really a spike persay, more like a bolt.
The Tiles: Of note themselves, the tiles vary widely. Some may be from worlds you know, others might not. Each one comes with its own series of challenges. Sometimes the terrain will be difficult. Other times you may find yourself under attack by the tile’s inhabitants. Most of the time it is easy to tell where one tile ends and the other begins; regardless, be careful.
Movement: Given the varied terrain, assume that your character can move 4 tiles of any terrain per day. If your char moves faster than this...consider it a nerf. If you plan to move to another tile, send me a PM and I'll tell you your options from that particular tile.
For those that like to keep a map, it is always oriented the same way as a compass rose. That is on a 2D surface, North is up, East is right and so on and so forth.
Starting out: Most of you will simply have the basic terrain to work with. Someone you will have otherthings that need to be said. These will be given to you via PM. They must be included in your post. Whether you choose to do anything with them is up to you.
