The Epicenter Maze

Name: Alexander Hartke

Age: 20

Appearance: A thin young man, Alexander has very little muscle mass but he is an excellent runner. The most noticeable thing about him in the scarf he almost always seems to be wearing. Ragged at the ends, it is incredibly light and flutters in almost any breeze. He normally dresses in loose jeans and a loose long sleeve shirt with a short sleeve one over the top. Underneath his scarf, on a leather cord around his neck, is his significator card, the Wheel of Fortune.

His hair is a sandy blonde that hangs over his green eyes, giving him the illusion of hiding. He is of average height, only being 5’10”.

Weapon: Tarot cards

Personality: The shy, quiet type, Alexander hates violence, going out of his way to avoid it even at the expense of others. In fact he hates most people, preferring nature to anything else. You would be more likely to see him walking in the forests than on the sidewalk. He has a way with animals, most being friendly when they interact with him and some trusting him instantly.

His lack of social interaction with people has led him to be closed off to others, often ignoring them completely. Though this attitude has led to confrontation, he always gets off without any consequence. On the rare occasions he does talk with people, he speaks with a calm voice with a tone of dismissal and impatience. With animals though, it’s a friendly voice with a smile.

Outside of the forest, people often see him with his tarot cards in a spread before him. Though he can read them for people and does if someone asks him to, he rarely gets the question. His personal set in always in his right hand pocket. The cards are very important to him as he never does anything major without first consulting them. He has a knack for identifying other peoples’ significators and for reading them of course.

Abilities:

Arcana Force: Manifests the power of tarot cards. Most of their effects are unique, varying from attack, defense and utility. Some even have multiple uses. Aces manifest the suit as a weapon. The court cards summon the card to attack or defend Alexander as long as another card from that deck is not drawn.

Natural Affinity: Animals will befriend him though they may be apprehensive of others. If Alexander is nearby, animals will be more docile (20 ft radius).

Force of Nature: Alexander is attuned to nature. As such, the more he becomes accustomed to terrain, the more freely he can opperate in it, using the environs to whatever means. As a standard, no matter how accustomed he is, as long as his feet are connected to the earth in some way, he regains vitality slowly and also has increased vitality. Additionally, as long as he sleeps on the ground he requires less sleep than normal.

History: His hatred of people doesn’t step from his family’s lack of wealth or the fact that he is stuck at the local zoo cleaning the cages of the trash people throw but because people are almost invariably worthless. Born to a lower class family outside the city, he never really had that much growing up. In fact, to do anything at all he had to work for it, though often it was never balanced. Still, he got what he wanted, which was never much. What are perhaps his most prized possessions are his scarf, the only clothing that isn’t a hand-me down, and his tarot deck, worn as it may be around the edges.

Picked on by the kids for wearing the thread-bare hand-me-downs of his older brother through elementary and middle school, he developed a quiet personality, often disappearing to read a book when he could or choosing to sit in the back of the class. It was in these tender years that he came to his world view that people were worthless trash that should have died out long ago. Once he changed to high school though, things started evening out.

While he had sat in the library and read books, the others had sat at tables with those silly paper fortune tellers or had run around outside like idiots screaming their heads off. He wasn’t really surprised when his peers began failing their classes while he was going ahead by leaps and bounds, no longer held by the same standard as “the class.”

Remarkably bright for his age, he ended up going into the AP classes and succeeding there as well. Despite the promises of scholarships and grants for college, Alexander found himself short when he was walking across the stage at his graduation with the few from his class that had made it with him.

He settled in at his parent’s, taking the beaten up car he had bought from a friend into the city for work. As it is, he works at the zoo, cleaning up the trash that people leave behind in the cages. He has heard rumors from the higher-ups that his skill with the animals is going to put him on the fast-track to running the zoo though he doubts that.

Going through the garbage on his first day, he found the Wheel of Fortune card, carefully placed against the gorilla cage, like it was meant for him to see. Over the next few weeks, it seemed like more and more things began to crop up in the trash as he cleaned out the cages. In the tiger cage he found a beaten but still serviceable iPod shuffle with the words “Every end is a beginning” engraved on it. In the hippopotamus enclosure was a crumpled Benjamin hidden in a cup.

He always wondered what it meant and suspected that the card had something to do with it. He went out and bought his own set, trying to figure it all out. Was it luck or destiny? He spent the next year trying to figure it out. With no clear answer, he left it to the cards to decide, laying them out to see what would happen.

Now, he no longer goes on instinct alone. With a way to divine the direction to go, he consults the cards at each major turn.

Name: Rouge Maretta Mohan

Age: 19
___________________________________________________________________________

Appearance: [until I can get a scanner or find a look-a-like, you'll have to use your imagination.]

Weight: 117 lbs

Height: 5"6 (Five foot, Six Inches)

Skin Tone: Light tan

Eye Color: Dark Orchid (almost look maroon in bright light)

Hair: It's about 3 inches past her shoulders and is naturally curly. The color is dark brown (almost looking black) with highlights streaked into it.

Body Type: Slim/Fit

Race: Human

Distinguishing Marks: She has a small mole located diagonally near her left eye as a birthmark. Both of her ears have a row of piercings (from lobe to cartilage) and she also has a permanent single studded madison piercing that was placed at the center of her collar bone when she was 14 years old as a symbol of schism. Most people wouldn't be able to notice it unless they were looking directly at the front side of her .

Attire: When she does not want her identity to be known, she hides herself within a black cloak. A platinum chain connects from each sides of the bottom of the hood so that it can be worn without the sleeves. Engraved onto the chain is the word "noctiuagus" which is Latin for "Night Walker", and it is often used for identification in the city she was born in. The cloak is made of lycra so that it is not easily affected by water. When she's not in disguise, she wears a black off-the-shoulder mid sleeved top with a moderately tight black wasp waist worn over it. For bottoms, she wears ash colored shorts that have a grunge design which makes them look like they have been worn in conflict. She wears flat wedged boots that are black, double-laced at the front, and knee high - which work well with walking in any type of terrain except for quick sand and thin ice. This outfit is considered normal for Rouge when thinking of her type of style, but even though she's not fond of the idea of being weighed down with too much armor or thick fabrics and tends to wear as little as she accepts, she does wear good amounts of protective fabrics in each outfit to give her more resistance to physical damage or destructive magic.

As for accessories, she has a purple lotus blossom placed at the side of her hair that have two pearls hanging loosely to the side by thin strings tied to the top of the stem. For neck ware, she has a black choker with an amethyst gem hanging at the center. She wears two rings on her right hand, jewelery that she considers to be very sacred. The gold ring worn on her middle finger has her name engraved in script on the inside of it, while the silver mood ring on her index finger is what is rumored to be spellbound, giving her the abilities that she has, but she doesn't enjoy giving out the origin of the ring or where she had found it. On her other hand is a third ring, which is only a silver ring with her birthstone placed on it that's worn on her ring finger that is just worn for the fashion and has no known meaning behind it.

Weapon(s):

Snake of Eden [Dagger] - A small blade which was believed to be used for the first time in a fight with a large poisonous python. Getting shoved within the snake's body, it was believed that a fair mount of venom got drenched onto the blade, giving it a poison effect on deep contact to any type of skin due to the fact that it hasn't been sanitized years after its first use, and by the time it was washed, the effect of venom was already permanently sealed in the blade. The past users of the dagger have been known to use it as an emphasis to threat, seeing as they were almost all villains and adversaries that kept people hostage at knife point that promised gradual excruciating pain to come if the person being kept hostage didn't give in to their demand - therefore giving the dagger the name "Snake of Eden", due to use of persuasion used to other people's dismay because of the threat of most possible poisoning . Rouge had found the blade on the benches of an old cathedral, where it was possibly used for another killing.

Malady and Acrimony
[GP Handgun x2] - A pair of silver pistols that had been created in more recent years. Malady, the pistol Rouge uses with her left hand, contains hollow-point ammunition so that she may have no trouble with aiming at only one unit and lose the risk of possibly hitting any bystanders. The main purpose of Malady would be the stopping power of the bullets, being useful for stunning or paralyzing enemies in their place rather than killing them. Acrimony, the pistol Rouge uses with her right hand, uses shooting gallery ammunition loaded with frangible bullets, and is more useful in the role of demolishing the enemies from short to long ranges. Rouge never uses one without the other, seeing as together they are good with stopping any threats and then ridding them in their place. If there's ever a time where she only uses one of the two, it would most likely be to prove a point or give a warning.

Personality:
Rouge is very skeptical, but not shy or easily offended by other's opinions. Through her years of living, she has gradually become less prone to naivety, and normally has a hard time believing any kind of unusual facts about people that she's been told. She is not rude unless she feels in any way that she is being threatened or if something dissatisfying has been initiated, and if circumstances get too intense for her, she will most likely get physically defensive. She is especially this way when it comes to people she does care about, doing anything to keep them out of harm's way - physically or mentally. Aside from family, there is a low number of people that she can actual tell more about herself to, as to complete strangers or people in general she does well to keep as much personal details about her to herself as possible.

She values knowledge and most of the books that she reads are around the topics of psychology or anatomy so she can tell how a person may be feeling or what they're about to do according to body language. Within a week or so, she could fully understand concepts such as human pressure points, how the small portion of the brain a human cannot not use actually works and how to control it, and other examples. Other things she may like to know about is the origins of some sacred items, ancient family trees, and the histories of some vast deserted places she's been to. She believes that every bit of information she memorizes will aid her in the future whenever the time is right for using it.

She does understand the purpose of relationships, yet throughout the years hasn't had the means to start one or seek one out. There have been men that would take an interest in her from time to time that she would have to turn down seeing that they had nothing in common with each other. She didn't even understand how her parents managed to discover each other and ended up bringing her into the world by accident, but she never considered asking, or cared enough to bother. It is a somewhat rare occurrence for Rouge to like someone enough to partner up with them as a team or as a couple, mainly because she doesn't feel the need to have an acquaintance, but she doesn't reject if the opportunity arises and if she knows the person well enough to put trust in them.

Abilities:

Hamedo - Attack before being attacked. This can vary by who she's fighting or how intense the predicament is. From the majority of the years of study psychology, she can get a good idea of what a person's next action will be by focusing on how their body moves, and then a good idea on how to stop their attack by initiating the first move.

Behavioral Convergence - Often being called a "human lie detector", Rouge can tell by the slightest movement of a figure if a person is trying to mislead her. Seeing as how this skill has often succeeded for her in the past, it is easy to believe her reasons of not being able to believe information people in general give to her about themselves or another person. This skill is especially useful towards wild animals so that she can read their behavior and tell if they are a threat to her or vise versa and keep out of trouble.

Telepathy - Apparent communication from one mind to another without using sensory perceptions. She has the capability of using the functions of the normally uncontrollable part of the brain to communicate to either humans or to spirits with thoughts or with subliminal force - meaning if she focused enough, she could send someone into a totally different state of mind, or even cease a trance a person could be in. She doesn't often use telepathy towards spirits unless she needs to speak to one for someone in need of her assistance or if she has to confront one in the future, then she lets it know ahead of time.

Venom Bite - The moment where the Snake of Eden cuts against or penetrates through the skin and the venom is released. It can take from one minute to half an hour for the poison to completely go into the blood stream and affect the body that it's flowing through, but it can vary depending on how little or much at a time the body can absorb.

Trigger Happy
- A reckless gun firing attack, mostly used when there is more than one enemy unit in battle, and is useful when being surrounded or bombarded. The session can last until all of the enemies are down or until there is no ammunition left and needs reloading. If that happens, Rouge'll have to rely on her dagger, a large amount of telepathy, or her own human strength to fend off the remainder of life within the enemy.

Chi-Block - Chi refers to metaphysical energy that flows through the body. When a chi is blocked, it can render a body part or the entire figure completely paralyzed, and only specific medicines can remove the ailment. When a supposedly swift enemy approaches Rouge too fast for her to draw out a weapon, she can strike a pressure point of the body (where most chi resides) to instantly stop the chi from flowing, therefore ceasing the enemy at his/her tracks .
_____________________________________________________________________________

History:

Born August 30th, 1991, Rouge was unfortunate to have been an accident brought to life by her parents. It was believed when she was born, she was in a very bad condition and was close to death until a spiritual telepathist had cleared all of the negative substances within her conscious, or so it was believed that he did. There are still doubts as to how Rouge managed to stay alive as an infant, but she doesn't question it anymore - rather, she is just grateful that she did survive, and people still question her for ignoring the possibilities.

She was influenced by telepathist that came to save her life, however, and starting around the age of 8, she had began studying the means of psychology - looking up any word that she hadn't yet known the meaning of to continue her wish. She was often viewed as eccentric because of this, and it was very rare to find a friend that valued the same thing that she did. In fact, she had sometimes got beaten because of her differences at school, and at that age she had no clue how to defend herself. Her parents had taken the matter into their concern, but she wasn't aloud to switch schools. So through the trails of schools that she's been to, she was considered one of the smartest students in class, but in the end she had to adapt to scorn, isolation, and even death threats.

High school wasn't any different for her than her past schools, only by the time she entered she had finally found the means to fight back at any kind of taunting that was thrown at her. She had known that the main reason other people acted this way was because they were scared of the idea of someone not being the same as they were, but Rouge found that to be a very despicable reason - since by that time, she hardly cared about what other people did or thought of her. It was the treatment that she didn't tolerate. Communication with Rouge and her parents was very slim, so she spent most of her after-school hours outside of the city, always going to different landmarks by foot and always returning home past midnight. If she was really enthused by what she discovered, she would sometimes stay in the nearby areas throughout the cold nights - which often got her into trouble since she gives no notes of where she goes or how long she stays there.

It was by Rouge's 18th birthday that she had began traveling further away from the city to roam ancient venues, and when she had discovered Snake of Eden, a dagger that was laying slanted on a cathedral bench that could have collapsed if pushed down with any amount of weight. She didn't know that it was a sacred item until she did further studying of ancient history months later. Word had gotten around of Rouge's constant voyages, and many professors, ones who she had never heard of, had often seeked her company and wanted as much detail about herself as possible and what inspired her to study much about psychology. The first professor that Rouge had refused to tell anything to had attacked her because of her defiance, therefore leading to her first use of Snake of Eden, along with her first killing - which she wasn't at all expecting to happen. From looking through the belongings of the counterfeit professor, she learned that he was actually a spy looking for good amounts of information to determine if their main base could use her as a pawn for kidnapping and stealing other ideas.

To her dismay, it wasn't a one-time only thing that she would encounter a complete stranger with the same purpose of meeting her. One citizen had witnessed another killing that Rouge had to conduct during an assault and had told her parents about it. She knew that her parents nor the civilians would understand the reasons of her actions, so before her parents could even see her again or get authority involved, she ran away from her hometown and stayed at a village that took a week's amount of walking to arrive at. A year later, she decided to come back, only to discover that her parents had been massacred. The only thing that took up space in her house were two handguns that looked like they've been dropped on the floor, and some bullets laying around the floor with them that were stained with old blood. It was not hard to believe that it may have been because Rouge had left the city that the predicament had occurred, because people were afraid that her parents would be just as different and dangerous as she was, and she had decided that whether she was around or not, the city had become a dangerous place, and that it really was time to leave home.

Rouge had took the two pistols along with her on the departure, naming one Malady and the other Acrimony, so together they stood for "Illness and Hatred", two things that she knew had greatly affected her during her life in her hometown. She left her home the following night, not caring that she hadn't given or received any goodbyes, but her plan wasn't to go back to the village that she had stayed in for the past year, but to go from place to place for a set amount of time so that her voyage never came to a halt.

Name: Ciridan Nenmacil

Age: 113 (Quite young in Elven years)

Appearance:
20rwp6f.jpg

Ciridan, in appearance to other Elves, doesn’t stand out very much. In Elven society, his appearance is quite ordinary, whereas to a Human, he would look beautiful. After all, most Elves are. His long white hair reaches to about his mid back, and is straight. His eyes are a bright blue, and he is quite fond of them.

Clothing wise, he does stand out due to his robes. Designed for a Mage, by a Mage, for purposes of magical combat, the robes in question make him almost completely invulnerable to magic attacks. It is possible for a magic based attack to break through them. However, the power behind the attack has to be rather tremendous.

The Rings that he wears on his hand help him focus, and increase his magical attack power. Without the rings, his lightning power can generate up to 500k amps of electricity. Using the rings, he can increase that effect tenfold.

However, with that kind of power, comes the lack of control. The bracelet on the same hand helps guide and direct the flow of his power. Therefore making a lack of control on his part impossible.

The book that he carries is his travel log. Used for nothing more than writing down places he has been, people he has seen, and deeds he had done. In it, you can find new species he has discovered, spells he has created, and more history that most people can find in an encyclopedia.

Weapon: None, Ciridan is a spellcasting Sorcerer, he requires no weapon. However, if the need comes, he can easily create one under the condition he knows how it is made, and how it works.

Personality: Ciridan is mostly quiet, but not shy. His lack of words comes from not being able to find anything to say. Always thinking logically, rather than emotionally, he tries to hide and suppress his emotions. (Even if not always successful.) Very polite, and well mannered, he always tries to treat everyone as an equal. Although he always tries to stay on his best behavior, he is prone to snide comments when someone does something out of the bounds of logic. At times, he can also be ridiculously sarcastic.

In a fight, he will take any precaution to protect himself and the others around him. He doesn’t approve of cowards, or cheap battle tactics. However, he will find himself using them if it’s the only way to survive, even if it means being disgusted at himself for a while.

A master of Arcane Knowledge, he values a healthy mind, and a will to learn. If one has the desire to learn more, or to become better than they are, he instantly finds them interesting, and will not mind befriending them. On the opposite side of that, he cannot stand those that have given up on themselves. He finds them pathetic and weak, and wishes to have nothing to do with them.

Once someone gets on Ciridan’s bad side, it is nigh impossible to get back on his good side. A part of his mean streak mentioned earlier is that he finds it hard to forgive anyone.

Though Ciridan doesn’t actively look for relationships, he finds himself in quite a few of them. However, he is often dumped due to his lack of emotional contact with any of them. In all reality, he hasn’t found any of his would be lovers interesting enough to bother getting attached to.

Loving the concept of Alchemy, Ciridan loves to cook, and make things.

Abilities:

Control of all elements: Using the Arcane Magicks, he can control Fire, Earth, Water, Air, Electricity, Shadow, and Light without issue.

Fire: One of the deadliest, he can shoot from his hands, or mouth, fire that can reach temperatures of one million degrees.

Earth: One of the more tricky elements to mess with, he can control with ease. Given enough time, he can move mountains if need be.

Water: Using the moisture in the air, he can cause a man to drown on dry land, and create water for his companions to drink with a flick of the wrist. He can also create tsunamis to use as a weapon.

Air: Using air, he can create tornados and hurricanes to use. In theory, he can also use air to fly, pick up others and throw them, or to make a sail boat move at faster speeds.

Electricity: One of his favorites, he can use the shoot lightning from his fingertips. As described earlier, without the rings he can reach 100k amps shooting out of his hand, with the rings, he can amplify it tenfold.

Shadow: This allows him to do things such as teleport up to 100 meters away, or to use the shadows to hide him, concealing him to anyone and everyone. It can also be used as a deadly weapon. Using it in a similar fashion to fire, he fires shadow from his hand, however, it doesn’t burn, instead it rots the flesh of anyone it touches.

Light: This is used primarily for healing. Unfortunately, he cannot heal much with it due to his lack of training with it. However, he can maintain a force field that would protect him, and others around him, for 5 minutes at the most.

History: Born on Flarios, the 13th month of the year 961AF (After Fall) in the City of Magi, he was destined to become a Mage. Born as the only Son in the Nenmacil family, he had no other choice but to go and train at the Mages Guild in the city. With 4 older sisters, Ciridan is the youngest of his family. While his sisters stayed home and learned their trades, Ciridan was well on his way of becoming a great Mage.

While he had no problems with is training, he was limited in the fact that he was somewhat younger than other students. However, he used this as his motivation to become better than all of them. He had a strong desire to protect, and provide for his Mother, Father, and older sisters. He would make his living by becoming an Adventurer of sorts, explore the world of Tonelis, and make millions from his journeys by writing books, and expanding the kingdom of which he belonged.

Of course, that would have been the ideal life if things had gone according to plan. He did in fact graduate top of his class at the Guild. And he did, in fact, go out to travel the world. However, while he was away, his kingdom would be attacked by the neighboring kingdom using weapons that were unheard of. Even the Mages of the Guild couldn’t hold them off forever. Combined with an attack by an old rival of the Elves, the Orcs, they didn’t stand a chance.

While a high number of Elven people survived, many didn’t. Ciridan returned home to find his kingdom in ruins, his Mother and Father dead, and the fate of his four older sisters unknown. Ever since, he has experienced a guilt in the back of his mind. He should have been there to protect them, he should have been home making an honest living as a guard. Maybe then, he could have protected them.

This fueled his journey to kill the 13 Adraginos. The Adraginos were the center of a widely told tale. If someone were to find, and kill all 13 of these colossal beasts, they would be granted their power. Using that power, he would destroy the kingdom that destroyed his. He would bask in their death and destruction, and dance on their graves. In a journey that took him 15 years, he finished his task.

However, not all was as it seemed. He did get their power, he was now one of, if not the most powerful Mage ever seen. He could now move mountains at will and part seas if he wanted to.

But the Adraginos had a different plan.

As punishment of Ciridan’s crimes against them, they would give him what he wanted most. In fact, he would gain one extra power, to walk the Dimensional Gateways, and be able to travel to planets and dimensions near and far.

However, he would never be able to return to his home planet of Tonelis. He would never get the revenge he wanted, and he would never see the beauty of his magical world again. He was now cursed to literally walk across the universe, never to see his home again.

Now he uses the Dimensional Gateways to planets and realms of existence beyond the average man’s comprehension in an attempt to find a new place he can call home, something to protect.

Name: Burden

Age: Unknown...looks between 25-30

Appearance:
Untitled.jpg

Burden's traditional attire may seem a bit odd, actually. Some have likened him to the Wizard of Oz, or some of the residents of Oz, which severely pisses him off. He's also been likened to a walking Christmas advertisement. His top attire consists of a white dress shirt, sleeves rolled up and unbuttoned, underneath an emerald vest. The top is completed with an emerald tie. His bottom attire consists of black "battle pants", per say; they almost look like bell bottoms, and are made of a silken, flowing material. The best likeness would be the pants of Samurai in some video games. On top of this, Burden wears a red, flowing robe, tied at the waist.

Distinguishable Marks: The only mark that makes him unique would be the scar that runs across his right eye.

Weapon: Gauntlets, the only weapon he has ever used. He wears them on both hands, and channels his abilities through his fists.

Personality: Burden may come off as "cold" to some people, but in actuality he is just really serious. He has been told before that he needs to learn to take a joke. A sliver of an easy-going nature can be seen if he is in the company of people he has known for a while, but around people he has met for the first time he is scrutinizing and cautious, to an unreasonable level. He also is very sensitive as to his clothing; he'll fight someone relentlessly if they make fun of it.

In a fight, Burden likes to take things slow. He doesn't see a point in rushing in to attack an opponent without figuring them out first. He is, as he is with meetings, cautious. However, that doesn't mean you should take him lightly. Burden is skilled at what he does; taking his resistance to heated confrontation at the start of the battle as weakness is a bad decision.

Burden never really was interested in relationships. He didn't find the need for one. He didn't find the need for female companionship. He was never one to fall victim to lust or charm. Thus, his romantic shelf life is pretty dead.

Abilities:

Beckoning Glow
- Burden creates a gravitational field around his gauntlets, and can vary whether or not he wants them on one or both. This can be used in a support role or as an attack role. As a support, he can defend himself against any thrown or any physical weapon used against him to a certain degree: by using the gravitational control to alter the path of the object to miss him completely, etc. As an attack, he can increase or decrease the "weight" of his strikes in an attempt to deal more damage.

Gravity Mine
- Burden can administer an increased gravitational pull on a small, circular area of the battle field. If the opponent steps into this area, they can become trapped in place. The opponent can break free.

Impact Imminent - One of Burden's aerial moves. By launching himself into the air (after first administering a decrease in his own gravity), and then increasing his gravity, he enters into a nose-dive straight to the ground. Depending on the amount that he adds, this can be devastating to the environment, or anyone it targets. Unfortunately, the move has a small window of accuracy and is best used in conjunction with Gravity Mine...if used at all.

Dark Congregation - As per his title as a Mage, Burden is able to release a high-speed ball of purple energy. When it comes into contact with something, it explodes into a form of black hole (without the uh, outer space killing all life aspect), attempting to suck everything around it to the area it was released in. The size and power of the attack depends on how long Burden is able to charge it.

Sub-Space Explosion
:
Burden's defensive move. An area with a similar function to a planet's gravitational pull is created in front of him, pulling/containing energy-type attacks. Burden can then release the energy from the sub-space into various directions of the battlefield, in an attempt to rebound the attack back to his enemy.

Abnormal Earth - Messing with the natural gravity of the area, Burden can cause the earth itself to strike out at his opponent. This can include raising the earth in various forms, toppling trees, etc. The ability can be a great asset, depending on the situation; it can cause damage, or can be useless.

Light As A Feather/Fly Away Home - Burden, by muttering the first set of words, can reduce his "weight" to allow more fluid movements, higher jumps, etc. By uttering the second set of words and coming into contact with a person or object, he can decrease their "weight"

Heavy As An Oxen/Sit, Boy!
- Burden, by muttering the first set of words, can increase his weight to allow for more grounded movements, resistance to being knocked over or pulled, etc. By uttering the second set of words and coming into contact with a person or object, he can increase their "weight".

RipTide (25%/50%/75%/100%) - RipTide is basically a magical projectile attack. Five orbs of purple energy are created and then thrown at the opponent. Although they are innately fast, they have different "speeds" and "power" depending on the percentage that Burden uses. 25% is the least powerful, but also the fastest; they're seen as blindingly fast purple blurs; 100% if the most powerful, but the slowest; you can see them coming and are easy to dodge, but can do a good bit of damage if they come into contact.

Shatter Shroud - Burden releases a wave of energy that continues until it hits a target. When it hits its target, it encloses around them and traps them in a "bubble". The interior of the bubble constantly increases in gravity until the target is crushed beyond measure.

Boom Bubble - Burden creates a minute orb of black negative gravity and then launches it at his opponent, hoping to force it inside of them in one way or the other. Once (if it succeeds) gets inside of them, Burden snaps his fingers; this causes the negative gravity to react with the natural space of the human body. This causes the body to expand at an abnormal rate, ultimately resulting in an explosion of the affected body.

History (Optional): Burden's birth date is unknown, and when asked his age he responds coolly with "None of your business." No one knows where he was born, nor why he has the powers he does. He wouldn't answer anything when applying for his Clan. But, he was a skilled fighter, and the Clan needed all the help they could get: they would have to deal with his mysterious attitude.

I guess you could call Burden a cliche "mysterious visitor who don't want his past revealed", but...that would be pushing it. Burden just doesn't care about triviality; he believes you just need to keep pushing forward. And if he wants you to know of his past and the details of his life, he'll let you know.

Burden was originally a "Knight" of sorts, in the company of a Clan vying for control of territory in his Universe. His clan, the Seikazoku, was fairly powerful, and had hold of a good amount of territory in their "Clan World". Although he wasn't a high ranking official, he still devoted himself entirely to protecting his clan, and everyone in it. Gradually he became more open and friendly with the members of his clan. He found a home.

Before long, however, the Clan World started to become silent. People started leaving. Clans started disbanding. Even the Seikazoku felt the impact. No one really knows exactly what happened; rumors floated around, various conjectures were presented...but nothing concrete. The Clans and their World had started to die. Eventually, the leader of the Seikazoku disappeared, as did his wife. Then, his kid. And slowly, every member of the Seikazoku moved on. The halls of their ivory castle became empty and hollow, and a source of pain for Burden.

Burden was never the type to really trust anyone right off the bat. He made the mistake of doing that with Seikazoku, and it left him with sadness and a broken heart. As with everyone else, he packed up and became a drifter, wandering the countryside, wandering from town to town, looking for work, looking for another place to belong.

Burden can sometimes be found at the ruins of the Seikazoku Castle, pondering on times past, waiting for its revival. But it doesn't ever come. And probably won't ever come.

Probably a horrid History, but I was never any good at writing bios. Hopefully the character is solid. I'm kind of out of practice with roleplaying...haha.

Well, the Rp will be starting Jan. 24th at the earliest.

In the meantime, this is a reminder for those interested to get bios in soon. Additionally, those who are completely done with their bios should tell me that their's are finalized so I can solidify nerfs for everyone as well.

January 24th . . . I suppose I can live with that. The sooner the better ~
And yes, Rouge is all ready to be examined and nerfed if needed be. I personally think she's not powerful enough to be limited -coughunlikemyucough- .

I see what you did there :ahmed:

Anyway, if I don't personally label him as complete, then consider him complete and set in stone automatically regardless of what I say by the 15th. :mokken:

Writing up a fresh bio for this.

I'm still trying to decide if I want two characters or one. I could really use a fresh character for this ^_^

So my track record for submitting biographies and sticking with role playing stories is not the best. I blame college life for that immensely but since I'm starting community college on the 18th and I'm only expected to be in class two to three days I'll have a lot more free time.

Hopefully, I can finally stick with something (grr, because I really, really hate falling behind). I should have a bio up sometime tomorrow if it's fine with the OP of this thread. xD

OOC: Hopefully this will cut it. xD Sorry for the excessive length, I got a bit carried away. :neomon:

Name:Jamie Lynne Hawthorne

Title: Apprentice/Time-Mage

Gender:
Female

Age: 18 years of age

Race:
Human

Weapon: [Tempus Temporis; dagger] Belted to her hip, in a sagged leather sheath on her left side is an unadorned six inch dagger or “vessel” through which it's suggested her unique time-manipulation powers manifest itself. It is a channeling agent, housing the spiritual and physically taxing abilities of time and space manipulation. The blade is a fusion of metal alloys, being a melted complex of simple silver and gold metals. The only striking feature is the gold plating that runs down the length of the blade.

The three inch handle is a simple casing of leather wrapped tightly around the metal portion with a small hole just big enough for Jamie's pinky finger to stick through. A short length of twined string with an amethyst stone (Jamie's birthstone) gleams and dangles from the hilt. It's said that Jamie's powers are housed within the small stone and that it is her vessel and her dagger is simply a melee weapon. What ever the case, no one is truly sure where Jamie's powers are manifested.

Appearance:
Being of average height for her age, Jamie stands at 5'6” and weighs around 135 lb. Her musculature is athletic, having endured the tedious strain of intense physical labor as a farmhand for most of her adolescent life. Her eyes are a piercing hue of bottle green, deep-set, and almond shaped. Her face is heart shaped and her chin is slightly pointed.

Carrying hefty bags of wheat, grain, and hay, maintaining rice fields, and walking around barefoot a good ninety percent of the time, has increasingly hardened the young girl's body. Her fingers, toes, and heels are also toughened with callouses where her hands had passed over splintered wood and grasped unto the tightened straps of a horse's saddle. Her hair is a silken mane of soft chestnut curls that can often grow in an unkempt disarray of tangles. Yet Jamie is not one to pass a comb or a brush through the mane of dark tresses, preferring to toss and turn in her sleep and walk through the acres of farmland with her disheveled hair without a care in the world.

As for apparel, Jamie normally dons a simple cotton shirt, washed out with age and overuse. Simple beige flannel pants, loosened as the fabric is fittingly cooling in the hot climate he's used to, cover her legs. Laced up cow hide boots cover her from ankle to shin and the laces are usually undone, giving her the appearance of an apathetic “young kid.” Another notable thing is her skin, since she usually spends most of her time working in the unshaded areas of the sun, he's normally tanned. It's not unusual to see a layer of sweat on her forehead or some caked grime underneath her clipped nails.

Her “fighting gear” or armory is as simple as the clothing she wears while working on her father's farm. Jamie wears a silver plated breastplate that is separated into tri-sections: one plate for her abdomen, another for her torso, and a final one for her chest area. For her legs, she wears a chain hose made out of mythril. The magical properties of the legendary metal are not myth but quite factual, as it allows her to sustain as much as a painful goring of a spear to the calf or the thigh as well as a deep gash into the cartilage. The metal is infused with the mystical healing powers of an elvish priestess and as such Jamie's wounds can heal quite steadily, however if she's to sustain anything more grievous than what was stated above, the healing powers will wane.

Her trusty laced up ankle boots are traded in for metal greaves that reach about mid-thigh where it terminates and her waist is protected by a plain silver tasset. A set of pauldrons and upper as well as lower vambraces made out of silver complete the ensemble. The only downside to the ensemble is that while it offers her quite a bit of protection from being penetrated , stabbed or gorged, it can make her sweat rather profusely.

Abilities:
Retardo or “Slow Down” in the Latin translation is a time manipulation move. By slowing down the passage of time, Jamie can turn the tide of a battle to her favor. Using her vessel or her dagger rather, Jamie channels her power through the hilt and into her body, willing for time to literally slow down. Since the governance over this power is not absolute, she can only will for it to extend up to an hour. Once she comes out of contact with her vessel/dagger, the power diminishes and time normalizes. What seems to take an hour, it should be noted, actually only takes a few seconds to complete. If Jamie were to slow down time down to a few minutes and stab someone with her dagger then in real time it would only take seconds for her to complete this action.
She normally uses this in tandem with her dagger and if she wishes to turn the tables on her opponent.

Accelerato
or “Speed” in the Latin translation is a time manipulation move that allows Jamie to speed up the passage of time. Once again, using her vessel as a channeling agent, Jamie can mentally will or wish for time to speed up, she can quicken her movements to a tenth of a second, successfully finishing off an opponent. If she is to use this move in conjuncture with Retardo then she can slow down an opponent and quicken her own movements in succession. There is a constraint to her power as it physically tires her out, if she uses it for more than an hour than she can mentally strain herself to the point of total exertion, which is when she can pass out or in extreme cases die.

Rewind
the name of the move or ability is self explanatory. Jamie can channel this power out of her vessel and 'rewind' the actions of either herself or a targeted opponent. It can only be used in conjecture with Accelerato or Retardo. She can control the speed of the rewound action as well, slowing down the process of someone “falling up” so to speak or slowing down the action of someone walking backwards. She can rewind her steps, stepping back into an original position from where she previously stood or 'rewind' her actions of jumping from a great height to ensure she will not die. The prolonged usage of this move can also exhaust her as it is a power rooted deep from within her that has to be channeled and normalized from within her dagger.

Arr[FONT=Calibri, sans-serif]ê[/FONT]ter –
or “To Stop” in French is a time manipulation move that renders the target immobile for a limited amount of time when she channels it out of her vessel. Jamie can only render them immobile from five seconds to five minutes, allowing her a sufficient amount of time to change her position or get out of a . . . tight situation. As with her other moves, this can also exhaust her if used for an insufficient period of time.

Demitasse
– or “Lesser” in French is a space compression move that halves the targeted opponent's energy and results in them experiencing symptoms of confusion, weakness, general disorientation, fatigue, and severe dehydration. By essentially removing half of their bodily energy and fluid intake, Jamie can severely hamper the opponent from moving much farther and follow this move up with a time-manipulation move. However the only setback is that the energy does not transfer to her and half of her energy is exchanged, thus weakening her as well because of these setbacks it is used as one of her last resort moves.

Ab Antiquo – or “From Ancient Times” is a time manipulation move that can age the targeted opponent considerably, weakening them physically and mentally handicapping them either way. Jamie can age them to become ten years younger or twenty years older, although this is as much a mental strain for her as it is physically tedious to perform. She channels it through her vessel, it is important that she not break her concentration as the process takes a considerable amount of her full attention to successfully perform. If she is to become distracted then the spell can easily revert the opponent back to their original age, forcing her to restart the spell.

Personality: Impulsive, arrogant, caustic, and judicious, Jamie is a firecracker of a girl. She rarely ever hesitates to voice her opinion, not minding that she is talking down to an authoritative figure or someone who is of equal caliber to her. With her friends, she is a vivacious young girl, relying on her seemingly boundless amounts of energy and convivial warmth to console them in their times of need.
However with outsiders she is highly skeptical, taking the time to assess their movements, mannerisms, speech patterns, etc. She is a very distrusting child, preferring to keep her mouth closed rather than land herself in hot water. It takes quite a while before she is able to open her heart to a new potential friend or confidant.

History: Jamie Lynne Hawthorne was born to a poor farmer and his wife who sold her wares as a struggling merchant, in the small town of Ardot. Despite their financial struggles, the couple successfully provided their only child with a caring home. Her father, Roger Hawthorne taught her about all of the ins and outs of being a farmer: how to properly milk a cow, how to restrain an enraged bull, shearing a sheep for its wool, feeding the calves, milking goats, churning butter, and maintaining the stables were just some of her duties. She attended a small schooling house with around twelve other kids and grew up with them as her education continued and while she was a bright child, her parents did not have the proper funding to send her to a university in Alexandria.

Despite this, Jamie loved the farm, the simplicity of her father's life, helping him care for the animals, this was what she yearned to do for the rest of her life. Voicing this to her reluctant parents, Jamie sought out Roger to become her mentor and soon became his apprentice. However when she turned fifteen her life changed forever, starving bandits seeking out food captured and slaughtered her mother, leaving behind a mysterious ancient dagger as evidence. Stowing the dagger away a crestfallen Jamie struggled to support her depressed father but soon watched him pine away until he passed away only months later.

Deciding that it was unsafe for her to stay in Ardot, Jamie packed up the dagger as well as some foodstuff and sought out for “greener pastures.” It wasn't until she met a highly respected Time Mage, known simply as Chronos that she was able to discover a previously dormant power from within herself, the power to manipulate time and space. The dagger, Chronos had explained to her was her "vessel" an object that not only had sentimental value to her but that could also be used to channel her power, since she'd journeyed with it for so long it had become a spiritual and personal housing agent for her powers, tying itself inexplicably to her.

Training her to master these powers with her newly named dagger, Tempus Temporis or Time, was both an arduous and difficult task; but after four years of meditation, time and space compression mastery, as well as a “strict diet regimen,” Jamie emerged stronger and more vengeful than ever. Now she roams the land aimlessly, searching for adventure, for a purpose, and a meaning to her life . . .
