The Eternal Relics

Eons ago, the Relics were created. It is not known who created the Relics, or even why, but it is known that the Relics hold immeasurable power. Countless wars were fought for the control of the Relics. After centuries of war. The Relics were taken by the one country that was truly good. Using their ancient Magic, they sealed the Relics. But something went wrong, the Relics now chose their masters. Immediately after being sealed, they disappeared. It was thought that they were gone for good.

But it was not to be, the Relics reappeared, in the hands of five powerful and immortal warriors, it was thought that they would bring the end of the world. But of course, like most rumours, this was not true. At the time of their reappearance, the country they belonged to was rife with war. Using the power of the Relics, they fought for their country and defeated their enemies easily. They were now heroes of their country

The Relic owners, heroes of the modern world, were granted immortality but with it, they were given a sworn duty to protect their country from evil. They fought in many wars for their Country but in the final war, there was a new threat. The Shadow Relics, copies of the true Relics filled with evil.

A War ensued, lasting over 10 years. In the final battle, the warriors finally won, but it came at a price. The Leader of the warriors, the owner of the Ultimate Relic, sacrificed himself in order to defeat the owner of the Shadow Ultimate Relic. The Ultimate Relic disappeared, waiting to be discovered by it's new owner, the remaining warriors decided to scatter to their respective homes, lost without a leader.

Barely a year after this battle, a newly born baby with the name Leon was found outside an orphanage in the little woodland town of Nilem in a basket clutching a pendant. 17 Years after this night, War has broken once more. But the Warriors are nowhere to be found. This is where our story begins...

Name: Rene Skylar

Gender: Male

Age:
Physical Age: 17
Mental Age: 17

Relic: The Ultimate Relic - Pendant Form - As this is the Ultimate Relic and has no obvious abilities I'll state them here: The Pendant Relic is the most powerful of all the Relics, with it he can control the other Relic holders, though he would never dream of doing so unless he was in extreme circumstances. It also has the ability to control time, it is the main cause for the Relic holders immortality, so long as this Relic exists, anyone with a Relic will live forever.

Personality: Rene is an energetic young man who can be very naïve and reckless and more times than not he will run into battle without thinking about the consequences. He is a very proud man and will fight anyone so long as it is head on and a fair fight, he hates anyone who uses trickery to fight unless it is for those they love. He is also very good natured and can earn the trust of most people. He is brave and quite smart but he can be very childish at time

Appearance: Rene is a tall, athletic young man. He has dark, spiky brown hair and startlingly blue eyes. He is roughly 5"10 and weighs around 170 Lbs. He has a Caucasian complexion but seems slightly tanned due to relaxing out in the sun quite often. He is extremely fit and quite muscled due to working around Nilem a lot.

Clothing/Attire: Rene is normally seen wearing a short-sleeved white shirt underneath a sleeveless black jacket that he keeps unzipped. The jacket has a red stripe that goes from the collar to over his heart to the bottom of his jacket. He wears black gloves and and baggy black trousers. His trainers are black.

Armour: He hates wearing armour so he prefers to wear regular clothing in battle, the only time he wears armour is when his clothing is upgraded with metal plates.

Weapon: Because the Pendant Relic isn't a weapon, Rene uses a simple longsword and shield. The shield is a plain, metal buckler and the sword is a simple blade, roughly a metre long.

History: Rene has never known anything about his parents, his earliest memory is that of living in the orphanage and nothing else. He has always had a strange pendant with him, never knowing it's history.

History is short I know but thats because Rene doesnt really have a history :)

Name: Jacel Onyx

Gender: Male

Age: 573
Physical Age: 32
Mental Age: 541

Relic: Strength

Personality: A valiant paladin who lives to protect the poor, weak and innocent. He rarely shows hatred, unless to his enemies. Leading a peaceful life he does not take a liking to fighting meaningless battles, unless there is a just cause to it or his duty compels him to do so.

Appearance:
Eye Colour: Light green
Hair Colour: Dark brown
Hair Style: Slightly long and thin, short at the back but has a fringe long enough to fall past the chin, fringe is only long on the left and is often tucked behind the ear to prevent a loss of visibility
Skin Colour: Caucasian

Clothing/Attire:
Shirt: A slightly tight crimson red shirt, across the edges is a light green layer of softened cloth that goes across the entire shirt.
Trousers: Also crimson red like the shirt, quite tight to the legs and are quite plain in design.

Armour:
Knight armour: Mithril plated armour that protects the entire body, flexible to move in and hardly heavy to become a 'second skin' against him. Across the breastplates are two stallions standing on their hind legs facing one another. They are coated in silver. Across the main chest is twin double edged swords crossing over one another. The swords and both golden in colour.

Weapon: Relic sword: A steel 6ft longsword, rather plain looking in appearance but incredibly sharp. The sword is double edged and is able to shift its element at it's weilder's will (shall be desribed once used)

History: During his beginning years as a knight in training for the church in his village he gained an immesurable interest in the more ancient tales of the world, as well as teach him of the vastness and supreme power of his god it also taught him of honour, duty, great deeds and humility. As well as this he also managed to develop his body as well as his mind. Over the years he practiced swordplay, displaying a natural talent and natural flair for combat, always able to display great endurance to injuries as well as the seasons. During numerous quests and pilgrimages protecting priests and other notable religious figures he gained a reputation as an able guardian to whomever he watched over. His reputation was well earned as he cut down many heretics and bandits while suffering their blades and arrows as he defended man in the name of god while slaying those who dared to challenge the great almighty.

Many years and wounds later he began to rapidly rise through the ranks, eventually being the grand protector of the great church of the Arkh kingdom. it was then that he gained an item that came with his rank, a basic sword that aparrently posessed unimaginable power in the right hands. Not regarding it as anything unique he sheathed it and bowed, as his duty commanded before leaving the church to begin crusades to smite enemies of the faith. During one of the many crusades he had to attack a village supposedly filled with people practicing satanic worship. As they launched the attack they saw before them unarmed villagers, however his duty told him to fight, even if his heart disagreed. Lifting his new sword to strike at a running villager it suddenly forced him from striking them down, pushed back by an invisible force and was hurled back. His men, thinking their leader was being posessed by a demon fled in a panic, when Jacel recovered from the fall he found himself in a room that looked like an inn, his armour was hung upon a wall and his sword was leant against his bed, sheathed and left alone. he got up and saw to his left some other clothing, not knowing where he was he moved to the right and put on his armour and went to grab his sword, however to his dismay it repelled his hand, flying to the wall. he was taken aback by this, then he remembered before when he tried to strike down a villager and his sword struck him unconcious. He then, almost in hope of a response 'spoke' to his sword "why do you repel me? Are you trying to tell me something? Are the villagers... Good? Innocent?... What am I doing...?" he then placed his right hand to his forehead and shook his head "Talking to a sword... Still, it bothers me..."

Leaving his sword for the time being he slowly crept down the stairs from his room to the bottom floor, when he saw the villagers there he saw a young girl who saw him. Instead of alerting everyone she let out an innocent smile, easing his mind he slowly showed himself to the rest of the villagers who had gathered there. The villagers welcomed him gladly which confused Jacel... he HAD tried to kill them after all. Questioning this an old man approached him, he hadn't seen him before now and he merely signalled for him to follow him back to his room, doing as instructed he followed the man as he stepped into the room, the man then turned to face him, grabbing the sword which allowed itself to be held by him. He then spoke to Jacel "I imagine it would not allow you to hold it?" Jacel nodded sadly, he then looked back at the man. "I imagine you wish to weild this relic once more? If so then you merely have to gain a will to fight, your current one is filled with evil and obedience to another man. Hence why you attacked an unarmed village, not by your heart but by your duty... Do you seek forgiveness... Or my head? Take the sword, it shall decide if you truly desire salvation" Jacel approached the man and held the hilt of the sword, it almost pulled himself into his hand, he then felt a powerful aura surround himself, he then had an undeterrable will shower him with a freedom, his will became one no longer of the church but of his own mind.

Years later he was continuing to lead the life of a paladin, he eventually crossed over a mountain range where he was injured in an ambush set by bandits, after managing to slay them he managed to make his way near a village where his strength left him. When he awoke a young looking priestess was watching over him, he lacked the strength to do little more than open his eyes so he merely watched her for the moment, she had not yet noticed his conciousness so she continued to treat his cuts and other injuries with native herbs and remedies. When he finally had the energy to speak she had left the room, his sword reacted with a dull shaking, perhaps she was like him? Speaking to her was of the utmost importance.

When she reentered the room he pulled himself to his feet and looked toward her, his vision was still slightly blurred but he could make out her features. She was tanned with what appeared to his vision as flawless facial features, from her skin, to her eyes, nose and lips. His armour was piled next to his bed, with his sword sheathed next to it. He himself wore a red shirt and trousers with numerous bandages on his skin where he had been wounded. he then looked into the woman's eyes "I presume you healed me? What's your name If I may ask" The young woman replied, mostly glad he was awake. "My name is Celeste Nayamashii, and yes, I am the one responsible for healing you." Jacel then walked toward his armour, barely letting his gaze leave the woman. "Since you healed me, would my body be able to move around freely, even with armour?" at this point he had lifted his chestplate to torso level in both hands. "it should be fine, you seem to be able to walk fine. I suggest you keep the bandages on for the time being till your wounds are completely healed." With this said jacel proceeded to reequip his armour and replaced his sword, after fully equipping himself he made a slight bow to the woman, as he walked past her to leave he stopped to her side. "Your healing abilities are quite remarkable, somebody of your capabilities could be of great help to a traveller like myself. If you would like to travel with me, by all means venture to the front gate of the village, I shall wait there till dawn." After leaving he quickly found his way to the gate, once he found it he looked for a merchant, when he found one he purchased some new camping gear since his previous set was broken, as well as tools and other supplies. After he had packed these it was already dark, he then headed to the gate of the village, his training had given him great levels of stamina... He could remain fit for a few sleepless days and nights.

In the early morning Celeste appeared, she walked over to him "I presume you're ready to go?" to this Jacel stood up with a nod. "Since you're ready, lets go" Jacel replied, before walking to her side as they set off. The days went by normally with Jacel fighting and Celeste healing any wounds he incurred, till one day his sword began to shake slightly, as they continued walking forward the shaking continued to an almost violent vibration. Following it like a compass they eventually came to a waterfall, it was in a fairly uninhabited area of the land and appeared ancient. From behind the waterfall laid a hollow in the rock wall, the sword vibrated most strongly here yet his arm could not reach within. Celeste tried second, as her arms were slim enough they managed to stretch within and pulled out a wooden bow, surprisingly it was not damaged through the hole in the wall. When she grabbed it the shaking subsided and it glowed briefly before returning to being like any normal wood.

After leaving the waterfall they took refuge inside a small woodland nearby, from there it wasn't too far to the nearest village. they set up camp in a clearing. Early that morning Jacel heard a sound outside, a scampering of nimble feet. He quietly awakened Celeste before slowly unsheathing his sword. "we have an intruder, better be ready" he whispered to her after hushing her waking groans. He then swiftly dived out of the tent and readied his sword in both hands, standing with his right foot belt forward and the left one stretched back he swiftly darted his head from left to right, trying to spot the intruder. it didn't take long for the intruder to appear, she leapt straight for him out of a tree, he managed to shift his body in time to avoid her surprise attack. He then took the time to analyse his foe, she seemed fairly young compared to himself, with a far less defendable attire and two daggers. Judging by her opening attack she didn't seem the type to think plans through, however that made her more aggressive. By this time Celeste had exited the tent and had her bow at the ready, Jacel started to approach her causiously, still maintaining his stance as he approached, though lessening the distance between his legs. After coming into close combat he charged forward with his sword held horizontally as he attempted to slash at her, she managed to jump over this however and landed a few meters behind him. however before she could move Celeste fired an arrow at her head though before it could hit its mark it fell limp, a mere centimeter away from hitting the mark.

They all stopped fighting at this point and looked around, a man in a cloak appeared at this point and began explaining of a great evil that was to be, and how apparently they all bore relics that could vanquish this evil. After joining forces they worked together to vanquish many evils till they faced the masters of the shadow relics themselves. After a long and arduous battle the ultimate relics bearer and his counter, the ultimate shadow relic bearer destroyed one another, leading to the demise of the shadow relics, however without a leader they seperated to their own lands. And now the new threat rises... It is now up to one to reunite them to defeat the new owners of the shadow relics.

Here's the list of Relics claimed.

Relic of Strength: Damon/Klonoa
Relic of Intelligence: Hydracula
Relic of Speed: Neliel Tu
Relic of Skill: Mandi
NEW RELIC! Relic of Foretelling: (Possibly Reserved)
Ultimate Relic: Me

Shadow Relic of Strength: Julius
Shadow Relic of Intelligence: Not taken
Shadow Relic of Speed:
Shadow Relic of Skill: Not Taken
Shadow Relic of Foretelling: Not Taken
Ultimate Shadow Relic: Me

Relic of Foretelling is basically a human relic, meaning that they were BORN the Relic, they have abilities such as predicting the future along with an assortment of other mental abilities (Mind reading, telekinesis etc.)

Name
Faith Crest

Gender
Female

Age
Physical Age: 17
Mental Age: 17

Relic
The Relic of Foretelling.

Personality
Faith was born as the Relic of Foretelling, so her personality was affected because of this. However, this was for the better. She is kind, loyal, honest and overprotective to her family and friends. When someone first meets her, their first impression is to walk right past her as if she was someone on the street. However, the more that a person begins to know Faith, the more that they discover another side to her strangely sweet personality. However, there are times that she is hard to decode, almost as hard as tryng to read a book that one cannot understand. She is difficult to read at these times and this makes things even more complicated. No matter how much she would prefer to just relax and stay laid back, Faith would always fail to be as perfect as possible to everyone else that she sees - whether she knows them or not. At times, she can appear to be stubborn and wanting to be the one to appear confident, just to help others out the best that she can.

Appearance
Amy_Lee-12221_3e17.jpg

Clothing/Attire
Faith is normally seen wearing a short-sleeved blue jacket, fiery red t-shirt, black jeans, white trainers and black fingerless gloves. This makes it very easy for her to move freely whenever she has to defend herself in battle.

Armour
Not much of a fan for wearing armour, the only protection that she wears are shoulder blades when engaged in battle. However, she is rarely seen with these one whatsoever because she feels that they are just from the past. Apart from this, Faith wears a metal armour vest underneath her clothes, which protects her front from getting slashed - this is not visible to the eye, so enemies can be fooled into thinking that she is defenceless.

Weapon
Considering the fact that her body was fused with a Relic when she was born, Faith has no need to possess a weapon of any kind. Her main and only weapon that she uses are her abilities, which may include telekinesis, telepathy and any other power that is to do with the mind.

History
Faith Crest, the child of much mystery. Unknown to her, the Relic of Foretelling fell into the hands of scientists several years before her birth. Her parents, Vance and Catherine, were kidnapped after they were seen to be having an intimate relationship and Catherine had fallen pregnant around the same time. The couple were kept prisoner in an unspecified facility for eight months - right until the birth of their child. Whilst Catherine was pregnant, the scientists induced her with the Relic of Foretelling and this became fused with her unborn child. When the child was born, the proud parents named her Faith since she was the reason why they had survived their hell of being locked up for as long as they had.

Barely a month after their daughter came into the world, Vance and Catherine seized their chance to escape upon hearing the scientists' plans to make her into a weapon against anyone that would dare oppose them. They planned to escape and restart their lives away from the horrible people that treated them like slaves. But their plan did not go smoothly. The lead scientist, a man named Professor Vladmir, ordered for the parents to be executed and to keep the child alive. Vance sacrificed himself to halt the attack and this left Catherine to run as far as she could, not looking back at what happened. Realising that she was a fugitive and would share the same fate as her lover, Catherine visited her old friend's house and left Faith on the doorstep with a letter that apologised for the trouble.

Patricia Musso, that exact same old friend, took Faith in as her own and raised her, unaware of that she wasn't normal. Faith's childhood passed by smoothly. She became good friends with Rene Skylar because they lived in the same town. Their friendship has lasted several years and keeps getting stronger now. Faith is unaware of her parents, Vladmir or what is about to happen in the world ...

Name: Celeste Nayamashii

Gender: Female

Age: 18 years old
Physical Age: 18 years old
Mental Age: 200 years old

Relic: Relic of Skill (Symbolized by a bow): Second youngest of the group, kind and sweet. Compassionate about defending her friends. Female. Is the best archer around.

Personality: Celeste is incredibly shy in the beginning when she first meets somebody or gets around people she doesn't know, which is normally mistaken for her being cold and complacent, which she is not. Sometimes she just pretends to be cold and uncaring so as not to be embarrassed by her shyness. She's quiet until she gets to know you, and once she does, she opens up, is warm, kind and a very understanding person and a great shoulder to lean on in time of need. She has a strong heart and it takes a lot to make her angry or bring her sorrow. However in the line of battle, she's serious to a fault and rarely smiles, hardly shows any emotions ever unless she's provoked. She does like to have fun with her friends and can be somewhat naive if she's not careful.

History: Before the war, Celeste is what you would call a "shinto priestess" hence her unusual clothing. However her shrine was destroyed and she lost everything, her apprentices, her family, her home, etc.. Since then, she has gained a Relic and is a skilled archer in combat. After losing her home and family, Celeste began to venture out on her own, in hopes of finding another shrine or village to reside in so she could continue with her training. During her travels, she came across a young paladin with an injured leg, the young priestess treats his injury. Celeste has also continued to carry the natural talent for healing from her priestess training. She can point out and differentiate between herbal remedies for many different types of ailments. The two continue to journey together, becoming close friends, and Celeste quickly discovers he's the Relic of Strength. On one of their journeys they discovered an ancient bow which seemed to call out to Celeste, upon touching the wooden weapon it glowed, calling out her name. She discovered the Relic of Skill and instantly became a master of the bow, gaining the power of the Holy Arrow During their travels, they were attacked by a thief, but Celeste nor her companion are about to let anything happen to what little belongings they have left. Just as the two are about to slay the thief, a mage interjects. He witnesses Celeste's skill with a bow an arrow. It turns out that he is no other than the Relic of Intelligence and his student, the owner of the Pendant Relic.

Appearance: Celeste stands about 5'4, thin, somewhat of an hourglass figure. She has long, golden brown hair that reaches to about her lower back with natural blonde highlights. Sometimes she wears it up, but most of the time it's down. Her eyes are crimson and her skin is slightly tanned.

Clothing/Attire: A shinto priestess outfit which consists of a white kimono coupled with a pair of red hakama, white socks and brown, miko sandals. A very light outfit and easy for her to move when in battle.

Armour: In battle, she normally wears brigadine armour. It protects well against slashes and moderately against crushes. fairly evenly distributed in weight, so not too tough for an archer. Not terribly difficult to make with basic leather and metalworking skills. Easily commercially available.

Name:
Real Name:
Lucius Chiranjivi Flaherty
Lucius stands for Brilliant, and Chiranjivi "means 'long-lived, infinite' in Sanskrit."
Popular Name: Lucius Fairholm
This is the name that people he's in contact with call him.
Gender: Male

Age:
Physical Age:
30 years
Mental Age:
999 years

Relic:
Intelligence. The possession of this relic implies that Lucius has mastered the arts of Magic casting, and thus relies solely on it when battle comes. He has a calm character and is quite intelligent.

Personality:
Being the oldest of the four relic holders, he's had enough experience to know what anyone's intentions are by analyzing their voice. And to each possible outcome, he has an optimal solution, all of which is what almost a thousand years of experience have taught him. In general, Lucius is quite a calm man, and he'll never take any rushed actions: all he does has a meaning and a reason. He's also quite friendly, but he'll rarely reveal anything about himself: when asked about his past, he'll most likely just lower his head in silence, with which the question is usually dropped.

Appearance:

Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Black
Build: Medium
Height: 6' 6"
Weight: 203 pounds
Lucius looks like a middle-aged man whose body is completely devoid of any scars or wounds. His hair is mid length, and his face expresses humility; he always has a cheery expression on his face. His eyes are penetrating, yet small. His nose is middle-sized, with a round tip. He has dexterous hands, and swift feet. His ears are sharp and pointy.

Clothing/Attire:

Lucius wears a white shi
rt and Brown pants, but he has a white robe over it all, which not only signals that he's a magic user, but mainly a white magic user.

Armour:

Lucius barely wears any armor at all. However, when in a battle he'll wear secondary leather garments for protection.

History:

Lucius was an orphan who had nothing in his childhood, not even friends, for he had always been quite a weird kid: he'd never complain nor be ticked off... even when any other kid would have. This way, Lucius grew up as just a simple boy who enjoyed history: whether it were mere legends of old or they were events of the past.

While meddling with the books in the library, he came across one which mentioned the relics: objects which held unmeasurable power. This intrigued the young Lucius, so he decided to look more into them. Soon he discovered that the relics had been casted into unknown parts of the world, and thus he decided to set foot to find these legendary objects. However, he did this, not in a greedy manner: he'd not keep the power to himself, he'd see what would be best to do with it.

As any adventurer, Lucius would stop by any village and read all he could about these divine objects, for he still had no clue about where the Relics were. However, by his thirtieth birthday, he had arrived at a rather quiet village. It was apparently deserted, for anywhere he looked he found no one. However, Lucius didn't mind, he kept on looking around, and eventually found a big factory and in it a small glowing object. It was a small silver key, and it stood over a small note which read: "Th* h*art sh*lst ma*k thy path."

Without any delay, Lucius knew that he had to find where that key belonged to, but he'd have to solve the riddle first: 'thy heart' could represent the exact center of the factory, the power source which kept the factory 'working', or maybe even the product the factory relied on... any of them could be 'the heart' of the factory. After checking all such locations, he had come across a safe and no more... however, the safe wasn't what the key was for, so he kept on thinking.

Then it clicked: the missing letters: Y-E-A-R. That was the code for the safe. As soon as he entered it, the safe opened, revealing its contents, a large wooden chest, but that wasn't what the key was for: another four letter code waited, and it was not the same as before. Was it the same in on other order? No, but it had to be derived from it... Lucius went through it again: Y-E-A-R... why-ee-a-are... whyeeaare... whyeare... whyeare... WIRE!

And that, effectively, was the the code. Inside the chest was just a small box locked with a simple mechanism, and that was where the key came in. However, as soon as he opened the little box, a blinding white light escaped from it. Lucius heard as something spoke to him: due to your outstanding intelligence and sense of logic, the relic of intelligence has chosen you. You are now in charge of it, and thus, of protecting the world.

When the light disappeared, Lucius found a staff in his hand, and now knew his next objective: to find the other 'chosen ones' and their corresponding relics. First he'd have to find however held Ultimate Relic, then whoever had been chosen by the Strength relic, the Skill relic, and finally the Speed Relic. It took almost a hundred years to find the ultimate relic holder, but after that, Lucius had not had any luck at finding the others.

After hundreds of years trying to find the other chosen ones, the day finally came: He was in a forest, teaching the ultimate relic holder magic that allowed to control a very important element: wind. When they decided to take a break, some loud disturbances were heard nearby. Proceeding with caution, Lucius managed to spot a warrior and an archer fending of a thief, however, they weren't just trying to defend themselves: they were aiming to kill. Lucius watched without taking actions, until there was no other option. With an immediate cast of wind magic, everything going on was disrupted, including the arrow which was about to hit the thief's head. Lucius was determined to stop the battle before any blood was shed, so he cast a shield over himself and stood between the fighters: this way nothing would happen. Lucius then proceeded to talking them into sense. He soon found out that they were what he what been looking for: the skilled archer, the strong swordsman and the swift thief.
What finally made them realize that what Lucius was saying was the truth, was the fact that he mentioned a key fact: 'Has any of you ever wondered why you've not aged?'

When the final battle against the Shadow relic holders came, it was the ultimate relic holder who sacrificed himself to end the war. Without him, the relic holders knew not what to do, and eventually separated. However, barely 18 years after, the war broke out again. There was a good thing to this: A new ultimate relic holder existed. Finding him was the main objective right now, as well as reuniting with the other relic holders.
