Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and Tango Gameworks’ new horror game, previously known by its code-name Zwei, is called The Evil Within and is coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and next-generation consoles in 2014, publisher Bethesda has announced.
“We’re incredibly proud to announce The Evil Within,” said Mikami. “My team and I are committed to creating an exciting new franchise, providing fans the perfect blend of horror and action.”

Bethesda Japan has gone live with first story details and a list of key features for Tango Gameworks’ newly revealed survival horror game The Evil Within (or Psychobreak as it’s called in Japan) ahead of Monday’s IGN details story.
The game, which uses the latest version of the id Tech 5 engine, is detailed below.
Story
When Detective Sebastian and his partner rush to the scene of a gruesome mass murder, a mysterious, powerful force is lying in wait for them. Witnessing the killing of fellow police officers one after another, Sebastian is then attacked and loses consciousness. Waking up in a land where monsters are wandering about, Sebastian has to fight his way through a world of death and its close friend madness in order to understand what’s going on. Sebastian has to face his fears in order to survive on a journey to discover what lies in the shadows of that mysterious force.

So what do you guys think? Do you like the break from Resident Evil and finally a new IP is in the works? Honestly, it looks really scary and I think that is what Resident Evil is lacking lately. Look at the descriptions. This game is going to scare you to death but at the same time it looks amazing. I am not scared to play it. I should note that Resident Evil 6 was said to be the scariest RE yet and that never ever truly came true. RE6 did not scare me one bit.
I like this partnership and I think it will turn out to be an amazing survival horror game. It will certainly redeem the Resident Evil series. I will be buying this for next generation consoles most likely.
