The exclusion of Yuffie and Vincent in the ending FMV

I never really cared all that much. The only secret character I was ever able to get was Yuffie, and even with that I had to redo several times just to say the right options to get her. I was never able to get Vincent Valentine, which sucks! Though if I continue my previous replay and get to that part I'm so not stopping until I get him! He will be mine.

ALL MINE! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

His red cape is so manly <3

That's ok they didn't need to be in the ending FMV it's a testament to their awesomeness. They're so awesome that being in the ending FMV could have possibly caused your PSX to implode from the sheer, overwhelming awesomeness of the two optional characters being in the same place during such an awesome climax to an awesome video game. Seriously though it was never really something I thought about until this thread.

At the time Vincent and Yuffie were just optional characters. It would have been very confusing for someone who was going through the game for the first time and knew nothing of those two to suddenly see them in the ending FMV. It'd be like 'Who the hell are they????' I know I'd be annoyed because then I'd have to go ALL the way through the game trying to find them.

But characters like Vincent ended up being popular, and so it made more sense to have them as main characters from FF7 onwards. I mean, Vincent did get his own game! Not bad for an optional character!

Well, it would be hard to place them in since then they would have to make two versions in case you didn't get them during the game. However, EA said that during that time Vincent and Yuffie went to help evacuate people from Midgar.

Yes, apparently the opening of DoC is supposed to explain their absence in the final FMV. Even though, in the OG, Meteor was bearing down on the planet and they only had moments to act. In DoC, it's still looming in the clouds above. I guess they won't be happy until every piece of canon is raeped.

Interesting. I assumed that scene was meant to be right after the events with Hojo, especially as Yuffie said they had already dealt with that area. After all, a storm was starting at that point, so I assumed the gang helped out evacuating people before finally leaving Midgar to fight Sephiroth. And it's not like they can say 'oh, they dropped Vincent and Yuffie off in Midgar right after defeating Sephiroth' because I think Holy moves faster than the airship.

I'm going with my theory for when I write up DoC. XD
