O.K. so I've seen on here a bunch of you guys say that theres a Red Chocobo level 99 and its the highest level monstor. I don't know I havn't run into this one yet. But anyway I went to the Feywood and below the save crystal the two screens where the temples are with the illusions. Well at first I couldn't figure out how to open the gate. So I killed everything on the upper screan and proceded to kill everything on the lower screen where the gate is. After finishing off all monsters and being frustrated the gate wouldn't open still I went back to the upper screen. To my suprise the monsters had not regenerated but there was 5 pumpkin heads dancing around. I thought "This is it!! this is how I open the gate!!" I checked them out and to my suprise all 5 where level 99!! There was a King, Queen, Prince, and some other jack legs. They pounded me pretty good and I had to do it all over. The second time I targeted the King and gave out a 9 mist to all of them, they fell dead and I got nothing!!. I soon figured out how to open the gate and am now in the great crystal. I just wanted to know if anyone else ran into these guys?? And why where they there?
 
Can't say that I have. Although there was one boss fight with a bunch of those little pumpkin dudes. I can't remember their names though. I think it was a mark.
 
I think you have to summon Belias to open something, if it's what I'm thinking you're on about. I'm guessing they were in the feywood because that was where they originally came from? Dunno.

Yes there is a level 99 red chocobo, it's whereabouts, can't remember.

Yep thats what I did finally.. Belias that is. I just thought it was weird to see the pumpkin dudes especially at level 99 with like 27k hp's. Whats even weirder is you get nothing for beating them. There not a mark, there not stopping you from going through Feywood, and you don't even get the CONGRATULATIONS like you get when beat a bad mofo. And to top it off you gotta kill everything in one board just to get them to show up!! Just thought someone might know?? Might be nothing...probably is :(..
 
No but this is really awesome to hear. As an earlier poster said, you fight these guys as a subboss in the Sochen Cave Palace. And then they enter your bestiary... but as creatures, not a boss. So I've always wondered where the heck you find the rest of them. I've found the one type in the Feywood but I could NEVER figure out where the rest of them are suppose to be at. That's my answer. lol

And no, but when you go to defeat King Behemoth, you will have to do a similar routine of defeating both areas and then coming back in. That's how you get the king to appear.

And the lvl 99 red chocobo is right outside of Jahara. Just walk out, kill everything, exit, re-enter... if he's not there, go two places away, come back, rise and repeat.
 
I fought those guys while I was trying to get the King Behemoth. You find them by killing everything in the top area (I think?) and moving down one screen and going back. They'll be there. I fought them at lv. 99(GO CODEBREAKER!!!)
 
you'll fae them if you kill all enemies in the two areas, as that's when they respawn. you have to kill them in order to face behemoth king, in fact, it's the best way to tell if he's going to appear - once you've killed them, he will.

and trust me, behemoth king is worth it - you get 500,250 gil altogether for beating him!
