It seems as if there are a lot of FFXIV communities popping up all over the place. I can't understand it, why are there so many? The game has only been announced for close to two months now and yet we see various communities have popped up. The first being online communities such as Eorzeapedia and FFXIVorigins. Some of these communities rank in alexa in the top 300,000! That's incredible for a game that has barely been announced for what, 2 months! Everyday more and more communities popup all around us and I cannot figure out when the end will be. However, there are other communities such as TenTonHammer and IGN which have already formed an FFXIV on their online forums.

Hopefully, with all the rush to form communities all over the internet, the game will actually be released in 2010.

We though it was crazy enough to have online communities such as IGN and TenTonHammer already creating fansites for Final Fantasy XIV, but it gets even more crazier. There are now Final Fantasy XIV Online groups, guilds, and linkshells forming throughout the internet. We are seeing them advertising on Facebook, MMORPG.com, youtube, and all the major websites. Who are these individuals? And why would they make guilds and linkshells just weeks after the announcement of Final Fantasy XIV Online?

Some of these communities include: Eorzeapedia itself, Gamercrisis's Rapture, and Eldritch Eponym

Some links below will lead you to some of these inspiring and committed communities:

I guess they want to have friends to play with from the very first moment FFXIV is released. Don't get how so many people expect something from this game.
FFXI is the only FF I hate...

It really annoys me that ES was working on MMO (and many other games) instead of putting all efforts into FFXIII. We all could already play FFXIII if it wasn't for all those other games they work on.

I think FFXIV will be released before PAL version of FFXIII and that is really annoying.
Hope I am wrong.

you think they only have 1 team of devs that does everything? lawl.... they have a completely different department working on an MMO because it is a completely different style of game.

I know. But I read that most of the FFXIII Versus team , at some point, stopped to work on Versus in order to work on the main FFXIII.

So why to not do the same thing with FFXIV?
I prefer that they will work on Versus & FFXIII rather than on FFXIII & FFXIV.
Or simply just on FFXIII.

There is... SE thinks FFXIV is more important then FFXIII =P

As for the linkshells, guilds etc poping over there, well if u ever played FFXI ud see some big linkshells that do high level stuff and work together to get there asap, being a leader of those linkshells gonna get u as a top player faster. They are just working hard from now to have loyal ppl to help em to get what they want, in the end to belong those big linkshells will allow u to have that kickass gear too so its a not bad deal for u either. But to start this soon... hmm kinda worthless, u can join em asap the game is out, just keep a track of em via internet and never, never let em have ur personal info or account's, to be loyal doesnt mean to be stupid.

For me I'm excited to check out guilds and linkshells that are already forming, Im not a roleplayer but the community aspect of the game is half the pull, FF fans in my mind are a unique group.

Personally I want to start guild hunting already, and lots of invites to beta go out to the most active community members and even entire guilds based off other games in the past. Plus if you have some freinds and people you have been paling with for 6-7 months before release day one will be great and easier on everyone with an already established team and people who are all as dedicated as you are.

No offense but I wouldn't call anything a community until the game is actually out. You might be saying fanbase rather, because I haven't heard any hype actually as far as this game goes. I thought I would hear quite a bit more, but I assume WoW and Aion are just still overpowering the media right now.

I hope this game will pick up numbers but I think it will go the same route as FFXI, considering SE is the problem in my case scenarios with support handling in MMOs.

Hmm, and there are even more communities then that. One that recently popped up was FFXIVBase.com and a lot of people are heading to all the others. I think they are trying to claim the resource game before it gets too big. We all know eorzeapedia stems off of FFXIClopedia, and so on. Sites like ZAM have been established for nearly every mmorpg, and ffxi too. Well see how it all unfolds right?
