The Lifestream: A Final Fantasy VII Club

To start I absolutely love the story. I think it is really well written. It slowly builds and it keeps you interested. I like the fact that there are things you don't see coming, I'm sure you all know what things I'm talking about (something I miss in modern games, they are mostly predictable). I really love that you get to know the characters, there are background stories that help you understand why the characters behave a certain way. The story is so well written that it makes you feel part of the game instead of just a player, at least that is how I felt. I was genuinely sad when Earith died.

I like the freedom you have on the map. Unlike most modern games I could just wander around for hours doing side quests without being forced to go back to the story line. I also love the side quests. I literally spend days just racing and breeding chocobo's to fill my stables with an S-class chocobo in every color. There is also a lot of variation in the side quests, admittedly some where more fun then others but they were all different (unlike FF13 to name another FF game).

That were the main reasons I love Final Fantasy VII but there are more things I like.
- The materia system, it's well balanced and fun to customize and play with trying to get the optimal configuration
- The music really complimented the story
- Really challenging (optional) bosses

I'm sure I'm forgetting things but I think this gives you all an idea why I love this game.

First is the MC, Cloud. He is awesome and his rivalry with sephiroth is epic, the battle 1 on 1 in Clouds mind is EPICNESS defined.

Second would be the Weapons, the protectors of earth, i liked the Weapons in FF8 but here they are the most awesome in the series, they remind me of Sin regarding how they strike fear in people.

Third the history, the Death of Aeris is the pinaccle of tearjerking moment in Gaming Story, and onward the game still give surprises.

Fourth, the materia system. So far it is the most customizable system i have played yet, Final attack materia and Counter materia are my favorite since most monster in the series have those abilities but only in this FF the characters have it too.

And last, the minigames. This FF has the best and most varied minigames in FF history, the strategy based mini-game that you play before getting the Phoenix materia is so great that i have a separated file to play it again.

Yep great game.
 
Hey Ultima Snake! Is been a while since the last time we talk. Yeah this thread has been dead for quite sometime. There has been some new members that join this club but not a lot of discussion.
 
so what dso you guys beleive are the themes of Final Fantasy vII? What is its message and what is it trying to say?
