I was thinking back to when I first played FFX2 whilst listening to the OST. And the memories that came back were both good and sad also. Its odd how music can bring back a memory or even a scene from a movie or game. List the Final Fantasys youve played and any key memories you can link with them.

Final Fantasy VIII: (1999) I played this when I was on my 6 weeks hols in Ireland and I wasnt away from the screen lol. I remember my nana bringing me chicken noodle soup as I hijacked the train with Rinoa XD

Final Fantasy VII: (1999) My cousin had the game and I had to watch her play as she wouldnt lend me the game :( I loved it. I also played it in 2004 with a boyfriend and his mate and they had no idea what was going to happen at the end of disk 1 :p the shock was brilliant!

Final Fantasy IX: (2001) I threw a hissy fit untill I was allowed to go and buy this lol. Reminds me of 2002's summer also when I had my first relationship. We were both FF mad.

Final Fantasy X: (2002) I actually didnt go to college or meet my boyfriend when I got the call saying my copy had arrived XD I got the game and my boyfriend found out :/ He was really cool about it rofl. That night was another time my gran bought me food whilst I played XD

Final Fantasy X2: (2004) I was sat in my new boyfriends dorm room and played this for hours whilst he talked through the walkthrough lol. His room just stunk of pot :/ But also it helped cheer me up when we broke up with its girlyness :)

These are the main, important games to me. The others sadly dont link any memories for me. I guess cause these memories are old and more personal to me I remember them more. Maybe cause Im getting older also they dont hold any deep meaning to me.

Final Fantasy VIII: Not too sure on the date, but I was about 8 years old and I remember going to a friends house to play his N64, and his older brother came in the room and asked us if we wanted to see something cool. He showed us the opening scene for FF8 and I was just blown away, that was the first time I was introduced to the series and I've been a fan ever since.

Final Fantasy IX: I remember going on vacation, to Puerto Rico and I actually found this one brand new at a GameStop for 20 bucks! I was maybe 10 years old at the time, and I didn't even know they had other games in the series besides 8 lol. So this led me to start collecting the games.

Final Fantasy X: I remember playing this game non-stop with my cousin over spring break when I was 12 or so, we'd wake up early in the morning and play till sun down, same with X-2. It was his first FF and I pretty much got him hooked on it as well.

Kingdom Hearts: Not really a Final Fantasy I know, but this game reminds me of my first crush, she introduced the game to me and I had such a hard time believing there was Final Fantasy characters in a Disney game lol. Great game though, and now every time I play it it brings me back to like 4th grade.

I've played and own many many more, but these are the most memorable for me, and every time I hear a song it usually reminds me of these kind of things ^_^

Final Fantasy VIII (2004): It brings back memories from just sitting in my old room at home and not having anything to do but be engrossed in the game on my holidays. >.<

Final Fantasy X: (2004):
I remember my best friend at the time giving me this game and in the same week I bought my first console. The PS2, duh. XD
I sat there every night after school playing it until it got too late. >.<

Final Fantasy X-2 (2004): I bought this at the end of the school year in December for my Summer Holidays. I had finished FFX and wanted to see Tidus come back. I remember sweating my ass off in my bedroom, whilst sitting on my computer chair with the walkthrough on my computer and playing the game. >.<

I got up to 80-something percent that Summer and then I never went back to it. =/

They're the only Final Fantasy games I played whilst at my parents house and the oldest memories from the games.

In playing order

Final Fantasy X: Everyone has a special connection to their first FF. Countless amount of hours me and my cousin spent playing this game. It was probably my first RPG as well. The game always froze during Yuna's wedding sequence. The day I finally got through it without the game freezing, I looked over my shoulder to where my cousin would usually sit and, he had gone off to college. Life flies when you're playing.

Final Fantasy IX: Key moment: realizing that FFIX came before X and that Yuna and Tidus had not acutaly given birth to Zidane and Garnet. Of course we thought that Cloud and Tifa gave birth to Yuna and Tidus. And literaly. Yep, my childhood was full of incenstual video game characters.

Final Fantasy VII: Jenova's BO_Obie eyes!!! Scared the living daylights out of me. First boobage...? I wonder.

Final Fantasy VIII: A big, silent, boring, frustrating blur.

Final Fantasy IV: Long absence from the FF series. Nice refreshing start. I had grown since my last FF. The music was much more deeper, the story, much more vivid. I payed attention to things I hadn't noticed before. Before what were just sounds and blocks of text actualy made sense to me.

Final Fantasy V: First suprise death. I had known about the death in VII long before I played it. The death in V wasn't spammed as much as ZOMG ****S/TH DIES!!!!1122!!! was.

Other FFs didnt stand out as much as the ones listed above did. Though VI was a great game and remains to be my favorite in the I-VI era and XII did have a harem of..... bunny women o.o not to mention the shaking balls of piss: the elemental Entites.

Final Fantasy VIII (2002 or 2003) : I played this game on my parents' room because I hadn't got my own TV. I remember playing until I got shoo'ed because it's too late. :wtf:

Final Fantasy IX (right after finished playing FFVIII) : I became so obsessed with the soundtrack. I even asked my sister to download the song from the internet so that I can listen to it over and over again.

Final Fantasy V (2003, I think) : I was playing FFV for the whole day during the holidays. The CD became badly scratched and the playstation couldn't read the disc. I asked my parents to drive me to video game stores in the whole city, to find another copy. There's none.

Final Fantasy X (2004) : Amazing 6th grade memories... I became friends with my friends because we share the same interest : Final Fantasy X. We used to call each other names. I was Auron, even though I'm a girl. I even spoke Al-Bhed with them. It was so embarassing... :gonk: I hope they no longer remember those.

Well I'lll try this again.

FFVIII:Christmas 1998, WoW this game floored me! With 6 weeks holidays what better way to flitter away the summer than in my room. It kindles in me a kinda of feeling that I only get sporadically these days a feeling of total enjoyment. Its not having my family around that it reminds me of, its the complete enthralment that it took me with that I remember.

FFVII:April 1999 Got this after VIII and it was even better, I played this when high school was getting boring and it helped to have this to fall back on. It Reminds me of what I thought about FF having never played the series before:stories of epic adventure and mystery and I was happy to be proven right!

FFIX: PSone Release date I got this in a bundle with new slimline PS1, It was during the year I took of between High School and Uni,So no worries for the time being no responsibility and nothing t do but enjoy life, I suppose the overwhelming feeling gratitude to my parents for supporting my lazy ass for a year.

FFX:March 2003 I took some time away from gaming in the previous 2 years to focus on Study and college. Brought a Ps2 For FFX.......massive gobsmack! A few after 9/11 the world had changed and was being afflicted by a flesh eating disease that ate a hole in my ass 2 in my thigh and one on my nose luckily it was a small one and the docs fixed it up. Hell if I know what started i though?

FFX-2:Sometime in 2004/05? I had finished Uni early this year and found some time in the Autumn to play this better than expected gem, I was pissed off coz I was still living at home and my brother kept annoying, so I had to start this game 3 times just to see the opening sequence. It started the avalanche that was moving out of home.

FFXII:August 2006 or was it 07?:hmmm: Either way coming to Australia from England was the best choice I could have made my family there are fucking nuts! The return was not helped by the purchase of this huge let down. Its being crap aand devod of any real reason to play it sent me to do an Engineering degree at College once again
so not a great motivation but gave me some impetus. I hate FFXII its only a game but its crap

FFXIII:2010 February Has it really been 4 years since the last FF game?
Being the massive gamer that I am I am reminded of only how many better PRG's there are out there and how FFXIII was another let down.....until Fang came along. I met a really nice girl in march and we've been together since So if there is one thing FFXIII reminds me off? its that Aussie girls are hot!

Dissidia:Having this with me pretty much all the time just reminds that good things come in small packages and that S-E can still get it done when they want to.

FFVIII (2006): I remember I was playing it and some girl who I had liked for ages called me up and asked if I wanted to go to the movies with her. I actually considered saying no because I was enjoying the game so much. I ended up going though.

FFIX (2007): I was up to the final few bosses and my mate gave me a call saying he was coming round. I tried my best to beat the game before he arrived and he walked in just as the credits finished.

FFX & FFXII (2008): I had recently had an operation so I wasn't allowed to do anything too physical for two weeks (This meant that I missed Rage Against The Machine when they came to my city :rage: ). I ended up visiting this place (FFF) a fair bit and it was during this time that I actually started to come here regularly. But more to the point I played a lot of games during this time namely FFX & FFXII.

FFIV (2008): I was playing it on an emulator and my computer completely screwed up when I was about half way through. My PC overheated which completely fried the motherboard and hard drive. So I had to start from the beginning again once my PC was fixed. That pissed me off tremendously. -__-

Nice!

I have a huge amount of memories influenced by the Music of FF.

FFVII;One Winged Angel, Fight On. Just to name a few, music in the Observatory at Cosmo Canyon, Outside of Sector 5 near Midgar, Cloud Theme, Aeris'sss Theme. Its just such moving music,13 years later its great to still be driven by it.

FFVIII:The Piano melodies of FFVIII are great. Rinoas theme, The Sorceress Chorus 1,2,3,4 Great for meditating too. Man with the Machinegun(laguna battle music) very catchy, Boss Battle Music, The Extreme(Ultimecia 4th battle music) Is great aswell.

Generally all the music from these 2 games was great, save the world map music on FFVII it makes my tv vibrate......and not in a good way.

FFIX:All the music in this game followed the same kind of tune, if you listen carefully you can hear the familiar pattern in a lot of the music. By and By my favourite music in this game was the World Map Music on discs 1,2,3.

FFX:The music on this game is quite soothing. The Music is right there on the disc and you on listen to it in the Luca Auditorium, but being in the field and having it as BGM seems get more done coz you can battle level in spheregrid. No particular favourites here just good all round BGM.

FFXII:This games Music doesnt rate that well with me, coz of my less than loving praise for its lack being good.......The Phon Coast music is pacey though. Just another part of its inadequate nature, I do not like this game it has very few redeeming features.

FFXIII: Inthe early going through the Vile peaks and Lake Bresha the music just compounded what was an irritating experience, But once you piss Away from Cocoonand land on the Archyte step you are exposed to many different types off music.

The Archyte Step BGM captures the true epic scale of the place, especially in intro Video
you see behemoths running around and Adamantoise roaming the Plain its great.

The BGM of the Yacchus Massif was a particular Surprise, like there's danger around every corner but lets just take our time and enjoy jumping ove logs and rocks, it sounds like lounge music.....its great.

Well they are my thoughts on the music of some of the FF games.

I was refering to the games, not the music. An example of music was used in my post as I was mentioning how a memory was triggered. I wanted to know what memories the GAMES brought people, not the music >.< Read the whole thing next time and not the first line.

There's no need to be rude about it. There is always a chance that someone will misinterpret your post. Clarification is fine but rudeness is not necessary. Thanks. :)

In playing order:

Final Fantasy VII
: Got it in the summer of 1998 and played it with my friends alle summer long way into the winter months. It was just cool, new and exciting for us at that time, even though the german translation made it almost unplayable.

Final Fantasy VIII : 1999, Christmas and again it blew me away. It was a rather cold winter that year so I stayed in and just played the game for hours on end until my mom got tired of the music and made me quit ^^

Final Fantasy V: Got it as part of the FF Anthology for
Christmas 2000 and was completely dissapointed due to the shitty story and the unlikable characters, stopped after 10hours and didn't finish it till 2008. Still doin't like it.

Final Fantasy VI: Came with the Anthology in 2000 and after hating FFV so much I started this without great expectations, and was totally blown away by the characters and all. Was a rather bad time in real life for me, but this game gave me a world to flee to...Still my favorite RPG ever.

Final Fantasy IX : The first game I actually waited in line for, sometime in early 2001, just finished V and VI before that and was a little dissapointed at first, Zudane wasn't a hero like I love them and the whole thing just didn't compare to the games I played before, but with time I grew to love it.

Final Fantasy X: Bought it on release in May or June 2002 I think after hearing so much about it. Ran into the girl I fancied at the moment at the checkout who saw the game and called me a loser and a geek and some other things. Well I may be a loser, but I didn't get...ah well, forget it ^^
I didn't like the game that much and just played through it once.

Final Fantasy I, II, IV: Must have been 2004, don't rember much just me walking to the store buying the games, playing them and then being utterly unimpressed....

Final Fantasy XII: Just moved into my own apartment when it came out and skipped classes to buy it on release day somtime in early 2007. Didn't get to play much cause of school, but remeber everyone in school loving the game and the graphics...the same people who mocked me for loving FFVII...

Final Fantasy III (DS): Spring 2007, the game and while playing it on the subway met a fellow RPG fan, who was female and quite pretty (and a total bitch, but that I didn't learn until 2008 ^^)

Final Fantasy XIII: Not to long ago, went to the Video Game store on a rather bright and anoyingly beautiful spring day, asking for Final Fantasy...getting just a blank stare. tried again asking for Fiinaaal Fontasie Treize (Final Fantasy with a frech accent) and the blokes face lit up^^
Didn't get to play though cause my stupid brother broke my PS3

Final Fantasy VII- 1998 Came out my freshman year in high school. I love every minute of this game. My little sister wanted to help so my mom bought the strategy guide and she became my "navigator". Lol, I remember I got so frustrated at the last bit of the game because I was young and didn't train properly. I would just tell everyone I beat it though I never beat Sephiroth and my little sister would always call me out on it.

Final Fantasy IV, V, VI, IX- 1999-2002 This is one of the best periods of my life. Two of my best friends were twin brothers lived in a huge house and had a dad that was never in town. Needless to say me and a few friends pretty much moved in. All we did was skateboard all day and play final fantasy games at night, it really was some of the most fun I have ever had. Sadly, their dad moved out of state and each brother moved to a different city, we still talk sometimes. The day IX came out was the best. We were all pretty much huddled around a TV while gasping at the opening scene.

FF7
My nephew had the first playstation in our country when it was just released in china (imported from China )
FF7 was awesome, awesome summons and the CGI was mind blowing for the time..

However FF8 gave me fond memories, the school , SEED, I thought Squall was awesome, Quistis a hot teacher, the cutscenes were integrated sometimes with manually control..

Like when on the background a huge war/riot and you were on some type of hoover, also the sections where you had to push different buttons to do things,...great game at that time.

FFVIII - This one brings back the fondest memories. I was on Christmas vacation I believe, and I just played through the whole vacation. I remember moving my furniture around so that my bed was right in front of the TV, because I was so engrossed in the game. :wacky:

FFX - I think I first started playing this in early June, while I was still in school. I remember my mom coming home from work and talking to me while I was on the Mi'ihen Highroad. This happened to be my first FF so I was so frustrated that I kept dying... I didn't level up enough. :rage: Another thing I remember was almost every day when my grandma would drive me to school, I would pass by this sign that said Seymour (I can't exactly remember why it said Seymour... but anyway), I would instantly want to go back home and play FFX some more. D:

I dont really have much to weird stories.

I do remember playing VII,VIII,IX when younger. Starting in the evening but for some reason its starting to get light again and not dark and then notice its like 5am..

VII - I was home from school on 9/11/2001, and I was re-playing it and took a break and flipped through the channels and caught a glimpse of the twin towers. That's always come up in my mind when I go to play VII. :shame:

VIII - No real memory, just how much I hated the entire game after the initial play through. But, I will always favor the card game.

IX - My first FF! Always going to love this. My favorite moment would have to be the cutscenes at the end of each disc, but more so for the first disc. I thought I did something wrong when Beatrix owned me.

X - My dad's a band director, and recently he had his marching band play a tune from X during their show. I think it's called 'Zanarkand' or ' Back to Zanarkand' or something. It's the one you hear at the starting cutscene. Everything I think about it I end up humming the song and desperately wanting my FF X fix.

Games like XII or VI I can't think of anything good or bad that stands out, maybe when I get home and look at the games themselves. ;)

Final Fantasy IX- my first final fantasy, got it when I was like 11 it was the first game I ever played until the sun came up. I got ridiculously lost, and became severely under trained- clasic newbie mistakes. id play it for a while put it down for months and play it again till I got stuck i did this for a few years .when I was thirteen I was on the third disk and I put it in after like three months and discovered my PS1 memory card was completly corrupt and needed to reformat itself.
I cryed and cryed. mostly because I had worked so hard and took so long to get to where I was, and the fact that I was almost done didn't help much ether
I couldnt bring myself to re play it again untill I was seventeen.
I played it mostly after school and I ate allot of vanilla ice cream and was playing it at the time I discovered Depeche Mode. so the song Wrong reminds me of it allot.

FFX- reminds me of my Freshmen year.i wore allot of orange that year and had wierd starfish shoes and my mom cooked allot of split pea soup . I played it all the way till the Jecht's final Aeon. then got stuck.
then passed it when i was seventeen and declared it the worst game I had ever played.

FFXII I played when I was 17 also the summer after I had passed FFIX, and FFX. it was my last summer vacation. I love this game- well, the characters anyways.
when i was halfway through the electricity in my living room went out for like a month in a half- and that was agony. but when we got it fixed I passed it. and I listend to allot of depeche mode because I had just discovered them the black celebration album perticularly reminds me of being in the dalmasca westersand. and penut m&m's remind me of Cerobi Steppe, and passing the game cuz I was on a weird penut m&m kick I guess.

so ya. I had some sort of epic eppifiny when I was 17 that I needed to play video games again, and start doing things I loved when i was younger- I quit my colorguard and started playing games and listening to music, and doing whatever I wanted again. it was very liberating. lol (my colorguard was really strict over 30 hours of practice a week dosnt leave much time to yourself. one day I just snapped)
