Okay, obviously attacking with Lulu's weapons suck. Does the Onion Knight do massive damage when used? Or should I just not bother going through the trouble in getting it?
 
Lulu is mostly magic based, if I remember it enhances magic not physical attacks which is still bloody useful. I'd recommend getting it just because I like getting all of them.
 
I recommend getting it, though getting the Venus Crest can be a pain in the ass.

First of all, the attributes of the Weapon (after you have the Venus Crest) are: Break Damage Limit, Triple Overdrive, Magic Booster, and One MP Cost. Quite useful. Also, The Onion Knight + Venus Crest will allow the Aeon, Shiva, to break the damage limit, which is also quite useful.

If you want a laugh, you can train Lulu until you boost her STR stat enough to be causing respectable damage with the Onion Knight. I don't recommend this, but I'm just saying, it's possible. :wacky:

The main benefits of the Onion Knight, as stated above, are its powerful abilities, namely the combination of Magic Booster and One MP, which basically gives you doubly powerful spells for only 2 MP cost. Combine that with Doublecast, and you'vev got a pretty solid damage dealer.

I also think OK looks pretty cool, but that's just me. :neomon:
 
the onion knight is a brave little fella. One point magic cost what a laugh could they make it any easiretheleast they should have done is 1/2mp costyes/no??
 
THe effort of getting Onion Knight never seemed worth it to me, lightning is evil. It will do good damage if you boost her str stat though, as will any character. Seeing Yuna hitting for 99999 when Auron is only doinf about 30,000 was always wuite amusing....

But yeah, if youre a magic user, Onion Knight should be reallyt sexy. I'm just not that much of a magic user myself, although now I have it fairly early, it might makelife easier for me. My last playthrough i took that long getting it that I just ended up neglecting Lulu altogether and she was utter shite even when i DI Dmanage to get it ¬_¬
 
Any character's celestial weapon is worth getting. If you dont believe me, get a regular weapon with the break damage limit ability and attack one of the Original creations in the Calm Lands; then attack it with a Celestial weapon and see the difference. If I'm not mistaken, ALL Celestial weapons ignore defense. Lulu's weapon is worth it if you want a magic caster in your party at that point of the game. Though I never do, I get her Onion Knight anyways just to have it.
 
Ya for some reason I loved advancing yunas and lulus and rikkus STR. It is just satisfying somehow...

well for me, lulu is one of the most powerful and useful character in the game.. for me tidus, wakka, rikku and lulu are the ones which are really useful.. so, i took the onion knight.. but i really spent some time in the thunder plains dodging those 200 stupid bolts
 
If you do many side quests and manage to raise Lulu's attack power high, then the onion knight will cause a lot of physical damage.

Even better is that it breaks the damage limit barrier, and if your Lulu has high magic power, this will be very useful, especially in combination with double cast.
 
i would recommend getting it if you are like me and like to complete these games 100%, however it really isnt that important as you have the ability to customise your own weapons and can make one that is almost exactly the same however i cannot remember the name now, so no it isnt really that important to answer your question

there are a few things i would like to point out

firstly, all the celestrial weapons have the piercing effect by default, so in reality they actually have 5 abilities, though a down side is that they get weaker as your hp or mp goes down depending on the character, except auron who's actually gets stronger

secondly, if you train lulu enough, her strength, speed and other stats will go up enough, that she can be the strongest, that's how i got my yuna, rikku to be my strongest characters, their actually better then tidus but he has a better overdrive

thirdly, it depend on your A team, if lulu is one of them, the weapon is worth it but getting the is always a pain in the butt, i've given up on it because i can't get it, my record is around 179 dodges, so i chuck a real fit when i got hit by one, really annoying is all i can say, but if she is one of your best characters you have to get it, but she is the weakest in my party, so i don't really care about it that much, so i let it slide
