Title: The Paths of Tragedy
Current Time: Unknown
Regions Involved: Albadran Empire, Kingdom of Seseu, and many other areas.

Summary:
The Kingdom of Seseu is under attack by the Aldabran Empire. Sir Cairn has been demoted for failing to protect the frontier that divides Aldabra and Seseu, thus allowing the Aldabran Empire to start their conquest on the southwest, where the Kingdom of Seseu is located. So far 1/4 of the Kingdom of Seseu has been conquered, and the imperial army seemed to have gained the upper hand in this battle. The world is once again caught in a spiral of war, hatred and sadness, and the guardians of life watch in disgust as the land is torn apart, thus planning to end the war and the hatred born out of the hearts of humankind once and for all.

For a man who have fallen in disgrace, recovering his honor would be his main goal, but not for Cairn, he would fight not only for his honor, but to recover his own life. Ever since he was expelled from the royal knights, sir Cairn abandoned his title as a nobleman and set on a quest to proof his innocence. Betrayed and left for dead for his sudden disappearance, the man carrying his trusty huge sword, a family memento, found himself in an old tavern within the port town of Vaid. The name of the Inn was the "North Wind", and it was owned by Lerks Goodman, a 45 years old man with long mustache and beard that nearly reached his torso, wearing an old green jacket and old black pants. Most of the travelers pass by this Inn, where they meet with old friends and start new journeys. Now we will see to where does his fate leads him.

If you were to enter the Inn, you would see that Cairn is to the left corner, sitting on a small wooden chair next to a large glass window. The day seems to be cloudy, to the point of possibly raining any moment. His sword was set before him, lying resting on the circular table that also had on top his beverage and a vase with some yellow and white flowers, beautiful to the eye. The illumination was moderately dim, cleared by a few candles and the light coming through the other windows. Cairn had a mouthful of liquor, possibly Vaid Spirits, famous for putting at ease the soul of any human or beast. As he explored with his calmed eyes his surroundings, Cairn could notice a small flier on a small wooden board held by several nails on the wall.

Several imperial soldiers have been scouted to the south of Helena Fortress. The king and the royal army is doing all within their power to stop them, but it appears that the imperials have the upper hand with their new "technology".

Cairn smirked, seeing that if it weren't for the incident at Helena Fortress, the Kingdom of Seseu wouldn't be facing these grim times. "Maybe it's time to pay a visit to an old friend in Palacious."

OOC: ok. I'm totally lost, way too many places, and too little reference.
Or I might have missed it. Even so. I will do it simple.
I will be at the same "town" as Julius.
And for the sake of future things, Ill be entering the same Inn.
Yes I know, over used. see if I care... ^^

Jonad had been walking for some time. He was for once in ages, low on money. So he could not take a ship.
He mumbled to himself, as he entered the main gates to the Port Town of Vaid.

"Finally"
he thought to himself. He was thirsty, and hungry.
As he looked around, he saw various soldiers, seeming ready to attack at any given reason.

Jonad came from a far away kingdom. He had been payed to get there, to heal a lord of some kind. But the thing is, the lord was assassinated long before the sickness could do much. "Ironic" Jonad thought.
Since he was not from this place, he had little knowledge of what was going on.
He had heard something about the opposing forces. The Kingdom of Seseu is under attack by the Aldabran Empire.

"Bah, they are all the same" Jonad mutters to himself. After all, war is rarely nessesairy.
the more casualties, the greater the victory. Madness, and slaughter. Who could gain honor from that.
There where but a few warriors that where truly honorable. But they where to be counted on ones hands.

Nonetheless. Jonad had a feel for an Ale. He was not as loaded of money as he used to, but he would take himself this opportunity.

He looked around, and noted a tavern looking building. "North Wind" was the name.

He walked over, and opened the door, a creak was heard, and the warmth, and smell of food came along.
As he entered, some of the occupiers gave shifty eyes towards him. No doubt regarding his look.
Most of them looked rather usual, bounty hunters perhaps. And some ex-soldiers.
In the left corner, sitting on a small wooden chair next to a large glass window, sat one that looked different. He looked like a middle aged mad, in his 30'ies, and had seen a few battles. Or so it seemed at least.
Jonad didn't think of it that much. he just went over to the barkeep, and ordered a daily special, and a large mug of ale.

After his order was placed, he walked to an avalible table at the right hand side (if entering) along the wall.

He sighed, and was glad to be able to sit, and the waiting time for the food, and ale, seemed like an eternity.

OOC: please correct me if there is something ^^

OOC: Perfectly made. Sorry but I think that by trying to cover every detailed I made this RP a bit confusing :S

IOC:

As he awaited for his nourishment to be served, a few pieces of bread and some chicken stew, Cairn could not avoid to see the noteworthy presence of a someone that resemblances some kind of monk, perhaps a healer. As he drank the last of his liquor, Cairn summoned one of the maids and asked her for something more smooth, perhaps a glass of white wine. The maid was a beautiful blond, with light tanned skin and charming blue eyes. Her lips were red and fair in size, and her face was quite angelical. With a smile, she took his order, grabbed the glass he had already consumed, and left towards the bar. Time passed, and nothing in particular happened aside from another man storming inside looking for trouble.
"Where's that bastard of Sir Cairn!!! I'll kill him for abandoning his own country in a time of need! He is too arrogant to admit his guilt for failing to secure Helena Fortress!!"

The man, who was 6 feet 7 inches tall with broad shoulders, strong arms and legs, bald, with a small beard and mustache and with a scar over his left eye, drew his huge double edged battle axe. He breathed heavily and explored all around him with his furious, adrenaline pumped, black eyes. "Come out you coward!!!"

Cairn could not resist anymore, so he took his longsword and walked towards the center of the tavern, where he would meet this man face to face. Not intimidated by the size of his opponent, Cairn stood before him without even showing an ounce of fear. "It seems you found me again after all, who sent you this time Gade?"

The man stood firm before Cairn, tightening the grasp he had on the handle of his battle axe. "You left your comrades, Cairn. We never cared if you were disgrace because we believed in you....now the kingdom is regretting that unfair justice that was cast upon you...I came..." the man close his eyes and slowly as he rose his axe. Cairn quickly realized his opponent's intentions. "...to see if you became the coward they speak off!!" the man called Gade brought his axe downwardly upon Cairn, who quickly stepped back to dodge it. The axe struck the wooden floor, clearly leaving a deep gash on it. "Was there any need for calling me arrogant? You could have just asked why I left...meh"

OOC: Sorry this is so long, I got caught up in the moment.

“Out of the way!” a voice echoed from outside the large chamber, “I said move! That pig will pay for his insolence!”
The guards hurried to open the door, but whoever was on the outside got to it first. The doors flew open with a resounding crash that must have been audible for a mile. Standing in the doorway was a gruff man in his late forties, his remaining hair pulled back into a ponytail. His armor marked him as one of the captains of the Aldabran main army. Glancing menacingly at the guards that were backing away in shock, he strode up the middle of the room to where a young man in dyed green armor and a tunic with the emblem of the Order of the Sword on the front was sitting, his head resting on his right hand.
“Skaol! You were given orders to acquire rations from the village of Benefield!” the man spat, his face becoming exponentially purpler with every word. “What I’d like to know, and I’m sure I speak for the entire Aldabran Empire, is…”
He was, at this point, interrupted by Skaol’s hand sliding out from under his cheek, which caused him to slump harshly to the right, his unconscious face pointed right at the ceiling. One of the guards that had been standing outside finally built up the courage to speak.
“Er… we were trying to tell you, Captain Skaol is sleeping, and asked us to wake him if someone were to arrive,” the man explained, trying to not allow his voice to quiver, “We weren’t trying to stop you from seeing him…”
This rather irritated the man. Drawing his sword, he stepped to the table before Skaol and chopped it cleanly in two. This managed to rouse Skaol from his slumber. Cracking his eyes to their familiar half opened position, Skaol quickly stood up and wiped the small vestiges of drool with his tunic. Then, seeing the fuming man with his sword drawn, he smiled warmly as one would a friend one had the unexpected pleasure to bump into.
“Ah, Captain Gregory!” he said, his eyes exuding nothing but warmth, “I apologize for the lack of an earlier greeting, but, as I’m sure you noticed,” he continued, his eyes following the leaves of paper, that had been on the table a few moments ago, through the air, “I was sleeping.” Skaol had prior experience with Captain Gregory, and knew that protesting his blatant destruction of his furniture would accomplish nothing.
“I could care less what you were doing a few moments ago,” the man snorted, sheathing his sword, “What concerns me is your recent trip to Benefield to gather rations and supplies!”
“Oh,” Skaol replied, a confused look on his face, “did your army not get the rations I sent? The transport returned claiming that you had gotten them.”
“We got them just fine. I’m here because of how you got them! I have it on excellent authority that you actually used war funds to purchase them, rather than raiding their warehouses as any sensible captain would have done!”
“Why would I raid a village of such poverty?” Skaol answered, his smile remaining unchanged, but his gaze losing some of its warmth, “If I were to simply take their food without compensation, the villagers would starve…”
“It’s a village of Seseu, for God’s sake!” Gregory interrupted, “Who cares if they die? What’s one village when compared to the future worldwide Empire of Aldabra?!”
Skaol was no longer able to maintain his smile. “Leave. I will not have you trivialize the value of human life in front of my men. I have secured rations for our soldiers, just as I was directed. If you feel what I have done was an act of treason, take it up with His Excellency Maximillian.” Skaol returned to his seat and watched Gregory storm from the room. Passing Gregory in the opposite direction was a messenger bearing the insignia of the Aldabran Empire. The messenger strode quickly to Skaol, handed him a sealed roll of parchment, bowed, and exited just as quickly.
Stigma stifled a yawn. After slitting the seal, he unfurled it, scanning the message’s contents. He then rolled it up and sighed.
“Well guys,” he said, lifting himself reluctantly from his chair, “I’ve been given a new mission, and I’m afraid it’s a solo job. James, you’re in command while I’m away. Remember our order’s motto, ‘God protect the King, We’ll protect the People.’ Our district has a reputation as having the most naïve Order of Swordsmen. Let’s not give them any reason to refute that.” With that, Skaol strode from the room and headed toward the stables, subconsciously gripping the cloth that hung from the hilt of his rapier.

Jonad had been sitting there for a few minutes now. And a bar maid came along with a tray. She was rather good looking too. On her tray, she had a plate that had some pieces of meat and potatoes with gravy on, and the mug of ale. As he came over, she asked for the pay for the food, and ale. Jonad happily payed.
The maid placed the plate of food, as well as the ale, on the table. And walked back to the barkeep.

Jonad placed the fork in the meat, and cut of a part. He rolled it in the gravy, and was just about to eat it.
When a large man slammed in the door. and shouted after Sir Cairn, which he seemed to have some issues with.
The middle aged man in the corner got up, and replied. He indirectly introduced himself as Sir Cairn, and the axe wielder was apparently named Gade.

Jonad tried to ignore them, eating his food was his primary thing right now.
He tried to ignore the men, since he didn't really have much to do in it anyway.

Gade sent his axe towards Cairn, but he was too agile on his feet, he jumped away, and the axe met the floor.

Jonad still tried to ignore them, but he hardly could. He feared that he would have to heal one of them, and the other turn on him, since he would be healing his enemy.

He sighed, this had happened all to often in the past. The code of the doctor, to heal anyone that is in the need of it. Had given him trouble more then once in the past.
"Well, I guess Ill have to paralyze them both, if it comes to that" Jonad thought to himself. "At least long enough for me to get away"
He took another bite from the food, and a good sip of the ale.

If nothing else, he now had a rather crude form of entertainment for his dinner.

"Well, here we are," Jake said. He looked to his left, to see his grandfather crouching in the stones on the ground. They'd landed in some sort of town.

The Allsie stood up. Hera stood higher than six-and-a-half feet, covered in blue fur from head to toe. His long black hair spiked upwards, his tail blade looming to the left of his head. Hera wrapped his brown, Dragon-like wings around his body as he addressed Jake.

"We'd better be careful, Jake. We don't know this world, and it seems we've entered into a struggle. Look around." The Allsie's voice cut through the air like quicksilver, but was elegantly soft. "The people here are...depressed and on the wane."

"Yeah," Jake agreed. "It's like this world is a ghost of what it could be." He lowered his young voice. "What do you think's going on?"

"War," Hera said simply. "The people here are divided, but seem to be extremely loyal to their sides, look."

Hera pointed to a man walking past with an unfamiliar insignia on his cape. It was a good thing that Hera and Jake were in a small alleyway.

"Well, are you sure we should - " Jake began, but Hera hushed him with a hand. They both heard it.

In a tavern across the street, it seemed a fight was breaking out. With a nod, Jake jumped up onto the high roof of the building to his left. Hera did likewise with the building on the right. They both had an excellent vantage point, and could see clearly through the windows.

A man had thrown an axe at another man, who was out of sight. Though they couldn't quite make out what was being said, they both knew enough to tell that this could get fatal. With a careful aim of his finger, Hera blasted a small burst of energy at the door in the front. As planned, the door itself was blasted off it's hinges. They would wait to see how it worked out before they made any more moves...

"Holy Crap!" Wylliam yelled as he watched the door fly from its hinges. It wasn't everyday you walk to the tavern for a drink only to have the door blasted open for you. It took a few moments for Wylliam's brain to jumpstart itself after the shock, after which he scanned the roofs behind him. The beam had definitely come from that angle, unfortunately whatever it was was hidden by the roof's edge. Wylliam may not have had his armor or his spear, but he did have an overpowering curiosity that overrode any sense of self preservation. Running to the building opposite the bar, he crouched, building up as much strength in his legs as possible, and leapt to the ledge. What he saw nearly caused him to fall back down. There, hidden from the sight of the townsfolk below, was a creature of which he had never even heard mention. Glancing to his right, what he saw actually did cause him to lose his equilibrium, though he was able to grab the ledge and pull himself up quickly. Another creature, similar to the first, was perched on the building to the right. "Please tell me that beam wasn't aimed at me." Wylliam said in a weak voice, eyeing the blade at the end of the creatures tail. Wylliam was no coward, but he would have felt a whole lot braver with his armor and spear.

(((OOC:I hope this is ok for my first post, as i dont know the currency i just say "that will be 50 please")))

Crane had been making his way to the port town of Vaid to meet an Albadan Empire official outside the walls of the Port to discuss a mercenary job.
But his attention was caught by a glinting on the pathway, Crane bent down to investigate and found that he was staring at a Golden Longsword lodged into the dusty pathway. Crane picked up the sword and dusted it off and found the Albadran seal printed onto the blade and the crest forged into the hilt of the magnificently shiny blade. Crane wondered where this had come from and so he got back to his feet and wondered further down the pathway and found a similar shield with the same seal and crest imprinted into it. "where the hell have these come from, as i dont suppose they where just dropped here by accident" Crane said under his breath, but with the sudden realisation this could be a trap set by the empire he quickly ran for the nearest bush and ducked under it.
Crane had been in hiding for what he thought was hours when slow but heavy footsteps could be heard coming from the north of Cranes hiding place. Crane shuffled foward to try and gain a better view of the stranger, as he gazed up he saw that the stranger was a knight of the empire of Albadran. Crane could just see his face and started to think that this was a settup when he heard "come out, come out where ever you are im here to talk about the mercenary job your going to do for the empire", Crane was about to come out of hiding when he heard the unsheathing of a sword, only for it to be swung down ontop of the bush Crane had been hiding under. "what the hell, do you want" Crane yelled as he sprinted towards a tree for cover. "i understand that you are the infamous mercenary who killed my brother on your last job for the Kingdom of Seseu" Yelled the knight in return, Crane could sense the anger in the young knights voice, "I hope you cant sleep at night, he was all i had left of my family" the knight yelled with the sound of sorrow in his voice. Crane Yelled back to him "i'm sorry but a job is a job", with that Crane ran back to the dusty pathway where he had left the golden sword and snatched it up into his left hand and his katana into his right hand. "wha.... what are...... you doing" The knight screamed at Crane "please dont hurt me, ill do what ever you wont just spare my life" the knight said in a truely scared tone of voice. "well then tell me what happened here, because i dont suppose these sword and shield where just dropped here by accident, they were buried under the dust" Crane asks with a slight hint of anger in his voice. "all i know is that those are the sword and shield of the only remaning mercenary of the Albadran empire." "the hell with that, I know for sure they all died decades ago" Crane spat back at the knight. "please let me go home now sir" the knight asks with a scared tone in his voice, "sure do what you want now" Crane says over his shoulder.

After that enocounter with the knight
Crane had picked up and had been carrying with him since then the sword and shield, Crane had been walking for what he thought was hours because since he set of for port Vain again the sun had gone down and the north star had been guiding him towards his destination, when he finally came over the top of a hill and saw the buildings sillouted against the light of the lamps shining all around the great city.

Crane had finally made it to his destination and was looking foward to getting a nice warm mug of ale and a good hearty meal inside of him plus the chance of getting a proper bed to sleep in for the night. "Finally" Crane muttered under his breath. When Crane got to the gates of the city Crane could see that the guards where dozing off in there little booths with there sword leaning against the wall beside each of them. Crane didnt want to risk causing any trouble with the guards so he just headed for the building which sign read The Three Lions Tavern. Crane walked towards the door and stopped to read a notice in the window of the tavern notifying the city folk of thieves who had been working the streets surrounding the tavern. As Crane opened the door to the tavern he found that the atmosphere was buzzing and a nice warm fire was roaring in the fireplace on the northern wall, as he casually strolled into the tavern with the sword and shield strung across his back he noticed that a fair few of the locals heads had turned to look at him, for as he was covered from head to toe in mud due to him sleeping roughly in the fields he had walked passed on his way to this place named Vain, Crane returned a few of the locals gazes with a smile and a friendly "HI". Crane walked over to the bar sat down on a stool and called the barman over and asked to see the menu and ordered a tankard of hot ale, "Oh... um..... That looks nice" Crane muttered to himself under his voice as he chose tonights meal from the wide variety of choices on the menu, But Crane finally came to a decision and ordered the roast deer and a couple of chicked legs with a loaf of bread on the side, "'Scuse me barkeep id like to order the roast deer with a couple of chicked legs and a side order of a loaf of bread" "That'll be 60.95 please, take a seat and I will bring it over shortly"the barkeep replies kindly. "sorry 'bout this but could i trouble you for a room for the night" Crane asks in a kind of nervous tone. "Sure its no trouble, that'll be 45.39 please" Says the barkeep in his ever kind tone.
Once Crane had finished ordering his meal he walked over to an empty table in front of the open fire and placed the sword and shield upon it he then pulled a comfy armchair up to the table and sat down, while he waited for his food he cleaned of the sword and shield with a rag he had tied to his left wrist so that he could see the inscriptions on each of them, Due to Cranes limited education he could only read some of the words inscripted into the sword, he could read the words power and justice the rest was just a muddle of letters he couldnt read.
Due to Crane being emersed in thinking about the history and owner of the sword and shield he didnt notice that his food and ale had been set down infront of him and the key to his room that had been dropped into his lap.

After about ten minutes Crane was tapped on the shoulder by the barkeep to tell him that they where closing for the night and that he was in the way. So Crane used one of the rags he had and made a parcel to put the food into, grabbed up the sword and shield and downed half of the ale and started up the stairs to his room, only to be called by the barkeep and having his key thrown up to him. Crane finally got to his room opened the door and threw everything he had onto the table just inside the door, Crane had to make an early start in the morning so he slipped his trousers and his shirt off and slipped under the sheets of the bed, Crane shortly was awoken by the creaking of his door opening and three masked figures charging towards him and knocking him out cold. Crane just hoped someone was passing by and would help him free from the assailants grasps.

Jonad almost choked on the meat. The door was forced open, in the inwards way.
He remembered opening this door in the opposite matter.
The door was blasted off its hinges, and slammed hard in the floor not too far from the door frame.

Jonad hit himself a few times in the chest, to get the piece of meat out of his lungs.
Shortly after. the meat was being eaten again. "I feel like a cow" Jonad thought to himself. After all, this is close to the way that hey eat.

As he fixed his eyes back on the door. A stranger ran off.
He didn't have the time to check for details. This person was obliviously in a hurry.
Jonad was curious as well, but he found out that his meals was more important. If they where indeed after him. They would most likely enter.

The last piece of food was now consumed, and he completed it with a good long sip of the ale, as he say back to let the food sink.
At the moment, he was rather interested on the 2 ones fighting.

(Currency....hmm let's say gil to keep up with the FF tradition XD)

Gade was infuriated by Cairn's confidence, though he knew Cairn beated him a few times, Gade was certain that he could beat his former captain this time. Cairn remained silent, awaiting for Gade to make the first move. Soon he realized, that the bar would be probably torn apart if they were to fight, so he decided to take this battle outside. "Come Gade, these people do not deserve their peace to be ruined." Cairn walked towards the exit, passing next to Gade without worrying from any attack. Gade sighed, and followed Cairn outside. Once in the central plaza, Cairn stood before Gade not showing fear to this huge man. "Now Cairn! Draw your weapon! On guard!" Gade rushed swinging his axe mindlessly towards Cairn, all of his attacks summed four in total aimed to head, left arm, legs and torso. Cairn ducked to elude the first one, side stepped to the right to dodge the second, jumped to evade the third and back stepped to miss the last one by mere inches. After that close call, Cairn drew his massive sword and aimed it to Gade. "I don't want to fight you, but I will if I must..."
"Excuses! Nothing more than excuses! You've been missing for four months and this is the best you can come up with? Fight!!" An enraged Gade started once again his relentless pursuit, swinging his axe like a voracious tornado. The sounds of their weapons clashing against each other drew the attention of the townspeople. In the mids of battle, Gade swung his axe downwardly to crush Cairn but Cairn placed his sword before him, blocking the attack with the core of his huge sword. Gade kept pushing forward to knock Cairn, but the knight seized this opportunity to bent his knees, gain momentum, and then stretch his legs with enough force to push Gade a few steps away. Cairn then rushed forward, drew back his sword and shortened the distance, while Gade swung his axe from left to right. Cairn ducked and soon after he found himself spinning to the right 360 degrees, ending up hitting Gade's torso with the tip of the hilt of his sword. The attack made Gade lose most of the air in his lungs and forced him to kneel before Cairn. Cairn lifted his blade and held it before Gade's face. The knight then smiled, sheathing his sword and stretching his hand to help Gade get up.

Shortly after his mean was finished, and the ale neared empty.
The sword user, the one that sat in the tavern when Jonad entered.
Suggested something rather smart. They take the battle outside.

Many of the occupants, as well as the tavern keeper as well nodded to them selfs in agreement.
Jonad felt better, perhaps there where more smart men around then it used to be.

He smiled to himself, as he watched the battle.
As it grew more intense, he mentally prepared to heal one of them.
But, to his surprise. There where no bloodshed.
instead, the finishing blow was made with the hilt, and not the blade.
Jonad sighed in relief.

No doubt that some around here already knew who he was, he did have a reputation around the lands. As well as a rather unique look.

Well for now, Jonad could relax, and enjoy the second half of his ale, instead of rushing around.
He lifted the mug, as a toast or salute the the man with the sword.
Both as a 'congratulations' and as a thanks.

Skaol collapsed onto his bed at the inn and sighed. Ever since entering Seseu territory, he had to be careful about hiding his identity, so rather than his armor, he was wearing his civilian clothes: a baggy short-sleeve linen shirt and a comfortable pair of brown cloth pants. However, in as populous a city as he was in now, Vaid, hiding his identity was even more difficult. Skaol knew he had only himself to blame, refusing to remove his identifying rapier from his person, but he simply couldn't risk losing the sentimental weapon, or more specifically, the cloth attached to the hilt. Still, it was not this which contributed the most to Skaol's stress. He had been sent to Vaid to track down a deserter from the Aldabran knighthood that had been last seen here after a reported scuffle with a freelance mercenary. Unfortunately, his research was yielding no results, and he was beginning to feel discouraged. As he was about to fall asleep, he heard a crash a few rooms down. Skaol leapt to his feet, grabbed his rapier, and charged down the hall and into the room from which the noise came. Inside, he saw three masked assailants picking up the unconscious body of a man unfamiliar to Skaol. He drew his rapier and smiled warmly at the assailants. "Those that would attack a man in his sleep," he said, simultaneously relaxing all the muscles of his body, "need not to be shown mercy. However, I will offer it anyway. Please drop the man, and you may leave unharmed." In response, one of the assailants drew a hidden dagger and lunged at Skaol. Still smiling, Skaol waited, as was the Edgar tradition, until the blade was inches from his neck before bending backward just enough for the blade to miss. The man, still in his swing, was unable to parry Skaol's kick to his abdomen which forced all the air from his lungs and left him unable to continue. The others made as to attack Skaol, but instead, when they reached striking distance of him, they swept up their comrade and leapt through the window. Skaol ran to the opened window, watching the three figures retreat into the night. Sheathing his blade, he made his way to the unconscious man. He wasn't able to discern much of the man's appearance in the dark, but when he reached out to try and rouse the man, he was startled by the skin's strange texture. Nonplussed, Skaol began to shake the man. "Hey, wake up. I want to go back to bed."

Hera nodded to Jake. The boy jumped off the roof and approached the fight. But, even as Jake landed on the ground more than twenty feet below, the fight had stopped. Hera chuckled.

"No, don't worry, that attaack wasn't meant for anyone. It was simply to get their attention. It seems to have failed, but hey, you can't win them all, right." Hera spoke to the man who had jumped onto the roof with him. He was an odd one, but Hera was more interested in the fighters.

Hera jumped down beside Jake and approached the fight. One of the men, one who wielded an axe, was winded, and being helped up by the other man. Jake and Hera were thinking the same thing: maybe they'd actually landed in a place where there was honour. They both knew that Earth was hardly full of honourable people.

Jake was the first to speak. "Hmm, that was a quick fight. Wonder if you and I could have a go sometime." He chuckled amusedly, and Hera chuckled with him; neither one of them were weak enough to fall to these people, not yet.

Jake held out his hand. "Hey man, the name's Jake. This is my gramps, Hera Ledro -" here, he jerked a thumb at the Allsie standing slightly behind him. It earned him a thwack on the hand from the flat of his grandfather's tail blade. "Ouch! Alright, I'll remember that." He shook his head, ignoring Hera's subdued chuckles. "Anyways, you fought pretty good there. What's up?"

Gade grabbed Cairn's hand and rose to his feet. He tried to get off his clothes as much dust and dirt as he could. Cairn released Gade's hand and smirked seeing that Gade had given up tearing him apart. Cairn sighed, having recently fought an old friend was not what he enjoyed the most, but it was that or ending up as chopped meat.

"Well it seems that I thought wrong Cairn, sorry for not trusting you. A man who refuses to kill a former friend and forgives his mistakes is worthy of being respected and trusted. Thank you Cairn."

"Ah don't mind it. Anyhow, I guess that after this little brawl we might need something to refresh us. Come on and let's get a drink."

"Aye, thank you Cairn."

Before leaving, Cairn noticed a strange person approaching him. The man introduced himself as "Jake", and was congratulating Cairn and Gade for their battle. Cairn was curious about this man, obviously he had never met him before.

"My name is Sir Cairn Crey Rosencrant. It has been an honor to meet you. Sorry if I am hasty, there are some matters that I must attend to. If you wish to speak more, come by the Inn. I shall be waiting."

Cairn bowed formally and then he and Gade entered the bar once again. The people inside stared at them intrigued and amazed that no one was killed. Cairn and Gade arrived by the counter and the bartender took their order. "I want some whiskey!" Gade said anxiously. "Just wine for me, thank you." Cairn replied with patience. Both friends shared a drink as they had a conversation about the problems affecting the kingdom. According to Gade, the Royal Army lacked organization and many of their knight had left it to run their own personal groups. The kingdom is divided by discord and distrust, and the king knows not what to do. Cairn smiled, though he was disappointed for he expected more of his former comrades. After much talk, Cairn asked Gade to join him in his quest to restore unity to the kingdom. Gade hesitated at first, but soon he realized that sometimes the people had to fight their own battles, regardless of how bad times were.

"Now what we need now is some more people. I wonder if we can recruit others here." Cairn said wondering about their next destination. It was obvious that they required to reach the royal city of Palacious, and arrange a meeting with the king, but with Cairn's reputation after his rumored failure at Helena Fortress, getting inside without expecting some hostility would be foolish.

OOC: have you noted now I change the name of the barkeep/inn keeper/tavern keeper ^^
------------------

Jonad dipped his head backwards. And looked at the fire.
He let out a big sigh.
"I hate being poor" he thought.

He sat himself right again, and finished his ale.
"I guess a job is in order" He thoguth as he opened his money pouch.
Close to empty.
Another sigh was let out, as he refastened the close to empty pouch.

He stool up, and pushed the chair away from the table.
A quick check that he didn't spill anything on his white clothes.
And he walked over to the barkeep.

The barkeep turns around, and looks at Jonad. "So. what do you want?"
"Where is the nearest hospital" Jonad replies. "Why, you feeling ill?" the barkeep showed actual consideration for his customer. Or perhaps he just was a good lier.

"No, I'm fine" Jonad starts "I'm a healer, and I'm looking for a job, I'm sorta low on gil" He stated, thought slightly ashamed.

"Well. the nearest place for you then, will be the hospital down the street. Exit the door, turn left, and keep going. You cant miss it" He stated with a smile.
"Thanks" Jonad replied, as he turned, and started walking towards the door.

Cairn notice that someone was leaving the tavern, and something about him was noteworthy. For his clothes, one could say he was some sort of monk or healer, perhaps a scholar. Any of those would be quite useful on the long journey he was planning. Without hesitation, he asked one of the maids to stop the man and bring it at his presence. Cairn awaited patiently as his conversation with Gade continued.

Just as he was about to exit the door frame. He was stopped by a maid.
"What?" Jonad asked confused.
"That man wished to speak with you" she replied, as he pointed towards the sword wielder from before.
"thanks" Jonad stated to he barmaid, which left to do her chores.

Jonad turned, and headed towards the bar.
He got to a meter or so from the Sword user.
"I understand you wish to speak with me?" He asks, directed at the one drinking wine.

"Sit and share a drink with us." Cairn bought a glass of wine to Jonad and placed it on top of the counter. As he summed up his thoughts. "As you may notice, the kingdom of Seseu is in bad times. My friend Sir Gade and I are setting on a quest to meet the king in the city of Palacious. We were wondering if we could hire your services. Of course, you'll be rewarded." Cairn searched for a small leather bag inside his pack. He then placed the bag on the center of the table, it contained 100 gold coins. "That's the first payment. Then I'll give you more depending on your usefulness."

Wylliam leapt from the roof and landed beside the one the smaller of the two called Hera. "Er... I hope this doesn't sound rude, but you are real right?" he inquired of the blue creature, "not just some figment of my imagination? I know I have a mind and cunning superior to most," he continued, running his hand through his hair and smiling a smile that radiated conceit, "but I don't think figments of my imagination can blow the doors off taverns. Why is it, then," he continued, staring at the pair that were making their way back into the bar, "they didn't jump out of their skins in fright? Let alone, look at you?" Wylliam knew he had a tendency to be rather 'out of the loop' when it came to some things, but since when was it an ignorable event for two never before seen creatures to come out of nowhere and state a desire to be friends?

Jonad took the glass of wine, and with a nod in thanks, he tasted the liquid.
"Hm, not bad" he stated to himself.

The stranger offered 100 gold, to be a healer on their journey.
Jonad gave it a minute of thought.
He smiled, and looked towards the word user.
"Deal. I'm in." He stretches out his pale hand. "I'm Jonad Sizoc"
