The Paths of Tragedy

Alumar walked towards the blue furred creature, keeping his eyes on the dark knight.
As he got there, he stopped a few meters away, asking.
"So, If that dude is on your side, I assume it is all of us, against him" he said as he pointed towards the black knight, radiating a deep evil aura.

-------------------------------------------
Soris broke down, he knew he wound never make it out alone. Especially not with this.
He might have a small concussion, or something. Which is not something that just goes away that fast.
"This Hera is right, I'm no normal fox." he forced out, clearly in pain, still having balance issues.
He preferred to not be at the will of strangers, but in this case, he had no choice.

"I am Soris, and I suspect I might have a slight concussion" he stated, as he fell to his right. "If you have a form of painkillers, I'd like one." he stated, with a forced grin. It was like a joke, yet it was the truth.

EDIT
OOC: Hera again has permission to move Soris, should the need be there.

Testament scowled at Hera's comment. "Don't be an idiot, you big furry eye-sore," he growled, stepping beside the foreign warrior and facing the shared foe, "this is an alliance of convenience, at best! I was enjoying being a spectator as people knocked each other senseless, then this dark brute floats out of the sky and ruins it!"

Testament sighed and opened his violin case for the second time, removing Violince and kicking the case into the stands to be collected later.

"Listen," Testament said softly so that only Hera could hear, "I can only imagine that the stare he gave you means he's going to target you. When he makes his move, if you intercept him, I can give support from afar." Testament then looked at Hera from the corner of his eye and gave him a mischievous grin. "That is, if you're willing to put up with my attitude..."

---------------------------------------------------

Wylliam shook himself mentally and stepped slowly over to Skaol. He sighed and shot his friend a smile. "You know, if it gets out that I cried on the battlefield... well, there goes my reputation."

"Wylliam, I've got to be honest with you," Skaol said, patting his friend on the shoulder sympathetically, "I don't think you're quite as famous as you think you-"

Skaol was suddenly cut off by Wylliam's hand being slapped over his mouth. Wylliam peered into the eyes of his friend with a death glare. "Don't... finish... that sentence..."

Julius was carefully analyzing his new target's behavior, after all, he needed to leave him as undamaged as possible if he were to possess him as well. At this point, the demon's mind and Julius' darker conscience were acting as one. As he remained there, his eyes gazing upon the battlefield, always aware of their actions and of any possible malicious intent that may arouse within their hearts. All what Julius needed was for Hera to allow the smallest drop of corruption to force its way inside his noble dragon heart.

Finally, Julius ran out of patience and so he decided to face Hera Ledro himself. As he moved towards the dragon warrior, he began to emanate a devilish aura that began to scorch the soil underneath his feet. The dark knight had a sickening look on his face, his eyes were sunk on his objective, almost senseless, his devilish grin well hidden behind his expressionless mask. The sound of his footsteps drawing closer to Hera Ledro echoed fiercely throughout the bloodstained arena.

Suddenly, Julius halted his advancement only a mere steps away from Hera Ledro. Slowly, he moved his right hand to were his blade was, the sheathed weapon was tied to the dark knight's belt. As his hand grasped the handle, he took his time and drew his sword out, the sound of his blade being unsheathed resounded all around him. Soon after, Julius aimed his drawn sword towards Hera Ledro, openly challenging Hera Ledro first. Although his attention was fully dedicated to Hera Ledro, Julius did not fail to notice his other two companions. The dark knight was certain of one thing: in time, he would require to dispose of these two soon.

Unexpectedly, a new warrior arrived to the arena. Cairn, the sworn protector of the Kingdom of Sesau, made haste to the battlefield and stumble across a war-like scenario. He sighed, as he closed his eyes and frowned with disgust, then he followed up by rising his right hand and reaching the hilt of the sheathed sword on his back. As he firmly gripped the handle, Cairn pulled out his sword and held it vertically before his face with both hands.

Suddenly, a new shadow emerged from the darkness and it fixed its gaze on Cairn. The monstrous figure began to approach the knight cautiously yet threateningly, still Cairn did not move, for the knight was awaiting for the right moment to strike. In his ears, Cairn could hear the melodious and calmed rhythm of his own heart which beat passionately due to the excitement he felt towards this challenge.

Then, the shadow knight leaped high and came down towards Cairn in an attempt to bring him down underneath its cruel blade. Cairn only made a slight movement backwards, to gain momentum, and then he pressed forward, bringing his sword to right and then swinging it fearsomely from right to left. The attack was aimed to the shadow's torso, and in a blink of an eye, the monster's body was split in halves and left to dematerialize and scatter like ashes. Still, Cairn knew these weren't as weak as they thought, this being confirmed for he was now witnessing the very same monstrous fiend he had vanquished moments ago materializing from the monster's remains, merging and forming a knew shadow knight.

Cairn simply limited himself to take a defensive stance, holding his weapon with both hands as he awaited for the shadow knight to attack first.

Hera stared at the blade his new opponent had drawn. "So, you do wanna fight," Hera stated simply, grinning widely. Within an instant, he transformed.

A bright flame-like pyre of energy rose around him as he immediately went beyond his first transformation, sparks of energy crackling in the air around him. He had forgone the Ledrai Allsie transformation and instead moved into the second stage: Ledrai Allsie 2.

His body became leaner and sleeker, allowing for a definite speed increase. Dust from the transformation swirled around his now-silver fur, and his golden hair blew wildly in the wind from his transformation. His tail had lengthened immediately, and the tail blade became slightly smaller and far sharper than before. The claw-like nails on his hands and feet underwent a similar shift, becoming severely sharper, yet smaller. He flared his wings, dispelling the energy plume.

When the dust settled slightly, he stood with a relaxed body, carressed by a gentle flame charged with electrical sparks. His strength and speed had been tripled, and his energy reserves were quadruple that of his original form.

"Alright," Hera said, his voice smooth and calm. "You want to fight, we'll fight. It's been a while since I've had a good challenge, so I hope you can deliver. Why don't you make the first move; the guest is always given that privilege."

A gust of wind blasted down the hallways and struck Felldoh. The squirrel, having felt the pre-wind from the gale, had jumped in front of Brome and Soris, shielding his charges from the roaring wind. He heard the less fortunate warriors around him cry out as the wind sent them flying, they who were fool enough not to brace themselves against the gale.

But it was all Felldoh could do to keep himself upright, even after bracing himself. The wind tore at his clothes and threatened to pull him back as though he were strapped to a kite. He grunted with exertion as he pushed against the wind. Something happened out there.

And then, almost as quickly as it started, the gale ceased. The unexpected release from the wind caused Felldoh to fall forward, flat on his face. He rose, rubbing his nose painfully. "Everybody alright?" he asked, turning to Brome and the fox.

"We're fine here." Brome had placed himself over the fox, shielding him from whatever wind blasted past Felldoh.

"I'll bet an acorn to a nut that was Hera," Felldoh said, looking down the hallway.

"What gives you that idea?" Brome asked.

"I don't know, but I think the only person here who can do something like that would be Hera. Huh, I reckon that he's got whoever he's fighting cornered already."

"Here's hoping." Brome turned to the fox and gave him a worried look. "Are you alright?"

Alumar was slightly disappointed in the lack of a reply from the blue furred creature.
Not only was Alumar's question somewhat important due to the upcoming battle, but he was somewhat interested in what it was.

Though, as the creature transformed, after pointing its blade against the dark knight. It all made sense.

Either he was liberally ignoring Alumar, or he was so focused on the upcoming battle, and transformation, that everything around ended up as a blurry nonexistent mist.
Alumar was fairly certain it was the latter.

He took a few steps away. "Fine, don't go overboard" he grinned as he walked a few more meters away, again sitting down on the tribune.
"I wonder what will happen now" he smiled.

-------------------------------
Soris slid across the floor, not too far, but a foot or so, due to the wind.
He was not in any state to make logical claims, or explanations, but this squirrel seemed fairly certain.

The mouse, was apparently a nicer 'person' then the squirrel, or at least one that took others lighter.
Perhaps a healer, or whatever.
Soris could really not care less right now, everything was beginning to enter a haze. Focus leaving for a blurry substitute to take over.
This way of seeing things, came and left. Making his vision sometimes razor sharp, the next moment almost as watching under murky water.

The mouse asked if Soris where alright. "Well-" Soris replied. "-Considering im fairly certain I have a slight concussion, or head injury at least. I feel great." he stated, as he then looked at the mouse's face. "you wouldn't happen to have any form of painkillers, would you?"

Julius was certainly intrigued by this new sudden burst of power, and even more interested on the source of such might. Indeed, Hera Ledro would surely serve as a suitable vessel if the time required it, but first, Julius would require to get a hold of Hera's Mind to control him. This would be difficult though, for Julius had noticed the strong will this dragon warrior possesses, and how he will not yield to the forces of darkness so easily.

As he gazed upon this magnificent wonder of nature, Julius couldn't avoid feeling compelled to laugh sadistically, or in better words, a refined cruelty and enjoyment of pain and sorrow of others. As he laid his eyes on the opponents before him, Julius did not felt threatened, but challenged instead.

"I see you have changed Hera Ledro, yet the question in hand is; does the external change means that your soul changed as well? I don't think so. Regardless of how "powerful" you might look now, for me you are simply the same Hera Ledro I've met before, with a few meaningless changes of course."

Julius said as he sighed, placing his left hand on the back of his head and toying with his hair. His eyes burned with greed, a lust for power that could not be quenched easily, for the demon within him yearned for more power. Suddenly, the expression on Julius's face changed; his face did not look as maniacal as before, and instead, it portrayed a more calmed, yet, cruel looking man. His eyes fixed on Hera Ledro, Julius slowly lifted his blade and placed it before himself, shoving the tip of his sword to the ground. The sword remained standing vertically, like an obelisk, and it emanated a grim aura.

"I can transform as well, yet I will choose for a less grotesque transformation...since I don't want to look like a monster just like ....you.."

Julius grinned, and the stone embedded to his sword began to give an piercing reddish glow that burst through the Colosseum. Waves of energy began to make the winds around them whirl violently. The sword itself then began to transform; bat like wings sprouted from the hand guard, and the end of the sword's handle began to morph into some sort of monstrous claw. Julius then grasped the hilt of the sword and pulled it from the ground to finally aim the tip of his cruel blade to Hera Ledro.

"Now, let us fight...shall we?"

Hera shrugged. "I've been called many things; monster by some, angel by others. I don't care what people think anymore, I only care about who I help." Hera hefted his blade and rested it across his right shoulder. "I'm not one for pleasantries, so let's get down to it, shall we?"

With a flick of his thumb and a sudden movement of his left hand, the Dragon Blade split into its two parts. The left fell from its perch and was grabbed expertly by Hera's left hand.

"I'm ready when you are."

((OOC: Yeah, I know, really shoddy post. As is, I don't have a lot of time, so I tried to make it as involved as I could with the time I had -___-))

"Hey Skaol, what's with Testy?" Wylliam asked, while with a puzzled look he watched Testament laugh so hard, he had to take his violin from his shoulder in order to hold his gut.

Skaol, too, took a moment to puzzel at the formally dressed man's seemingly inexplicable laughter, but quickly returned his attention to the fight at hand. A clash between demi-gods... not even sleep could tempt Skaol from seeing this fight to its end. "Wylliam, don't lower your guard. The enemy may be focused on Hera for now, but let's not forget he has a contengency for fighting multiple opponents at once. He could very easily create more clones; perhaps ones more powerful than last time." Skaol looked over to Testament again and said, "That goes for you, too. If that violin is your weapon, don't keep it anywhere but at the ready."

Testament managed to get control of himself enough to re-shoulder Violince, but still let out the occasional chuckle. As he wiped away a tear from having laughed so hard, he sighed, "An angel, he said... ahaha...isn't that rich?"

Skaol and Wylliam exchanged confused glances, shrugged, and looked to where the main event was about to occur.

((OOC: This post has a lot of god-modding in it, but that's only because Fox said okay to it before. So, I god-mod by permission!))

Brome chuckled at the fox's would-be joke, though his laughter was marred slightly by the fact that the fox HAD suffered trauma to the head. Brome didn't think it was enough for a concussion (very lucky for the fox, considering how hard he'd apparently hit the wall), but it left a good sized goose-egg on his head.

"Well matey, I don't have any painkillers," Brome began. "It doesn't look like you've got too bad of a bump, either. It's a pretty one, but not enough to give you any permanent damage."

"Like it matters. Ow!" Felldoh's remark earned him a sharp whip on the footpaw from Brome's tail.

"Nothing nice to say, don't say it at all," Brome warned without turning to look.

"You didn't have to do that, matey," Felldoh grumbled, nursing his footpaw. "That hurt!"

Brome returned his focus to the fox. "Well, matey, like I said: I don't have any painkillers. The best I can do is wrap that up for you and give you something cool to bring down the swelling." He rummaged in his bag and drew out a gourd of water and a leather pouch. He poured the water into the leather pouch, testing it to see if it would leak. When he was satisfied that the pouch would hold the water, he took a small cord from his bag and wrapped it around the opening of the pouch.

"Hey Felldoh, would you lend me one of your claws here?" Brome motioned to the point where the cord wove around itself as it held the pouch closed. Felldoh placed his claw on the rope and Brome tightened it further, making a quick knot that pushed Felldoh's claw out of the way, sealing the bag nicely. The water swished around inside, but not a drop came out.

"Thanks, mate," Brome said, rummaging in his bag for bandages. He let out a small "Yes!" of triumph and took a long strip of bandages. Turning to the fox, he said, "Would you mind if I bandaged this to your head? It will bring down the swelling and drown out a bit of the pain. Not a lot of that, though," Brome said reflectively.

Soris chucked, followed by some canine squeaks of pain.
"Anything that can help, but not too tight. Id like to be able to take it off myself if it is needed" Soris replied, sitting still, so to make it simplest for the mouse.

-----------------------------

Alumar was already impressed by the furry one, as he wielded a word that Alumar would barely be able to lift. Let alone swing.
But as the blade split in 2. Right down the edge, forming 2 equal copies of the blade. His amazed state increased slightly.
It was almost painfully obvious that he had seen battle before, and was really good at it.

Though, considering what the dark knight had already done here, the clones and all. One could really not be absolutely certain on what would happen next.
Due to this thought lingering in Alumar's mind, he tried to look around, to be avalible to take down any ambush-like attacks if it happened.

Julius grinned as he lowered his sword and placed his left hand on his face Then he burst in laughter, and then he lowered removed his left hand from his face and then fixed his reddish eyes on Hera Ledro. The dark knight then began to walk slowly towards Hera Ledro. As he approached, the dark enmity he emanated began to intensify, bursting with waves of malicious intentions that would easily corrupt those with weak minds. Both what emanated the most enmity was his sword, the cursed sword he was wielding was stained with the blood of many; innocent and sinners alike.

"Soon this world shall meet its new GOD, I will be able to become the ruler of this planet in all timelines, merging them together within the darkness beyond time to be the God of all Ages!!!"

Julius laughed maniacally as he expressed part of his plans to his enemies. Suddenly, his facial expressions turned more aggressive as his gaze was fixed once again on Hera Ledro. Julius then lifted his blade and aimed it to his opponent....

"Hera Ledro...the flame burning within your soul shall be extinguished...and then my burning hatred will possess your heart!!"

Julius gave our a ferocious battle cry as he let pulses of darkness out of his body. The dark knight bent his knees and stretched them to send himself with a strong leap towards Hera Ledro. Julius then landed a few meters away from his target, and then he sprinted to him wielding his sword threateningly.

As soon as he shortened the distance between himself and his target, Julius withdrew his blade, then made a 360 degree spin clock-wise and swinging his sword along, he performed a powerful full circle slash. The sword was engulfed with scorching black flames that soared all around the blade.

Hera made his move like lightning. In what seemed to be a single movement, the Allsie thrust his right sword to parry his foe's move, simultaneously sinking the point of the left blade into the coliseum earth. He pulled himself backwards with his left hand, his motion little less than a blur as his body sped in reverse.

As he pulled himself back, he reformed his blade, holding the whole sword to his right side lightly. He landed and allowed himself a snigger. "My, my, a magic wielder." The flames of the offending sword blazed in Hera's mind, making him grin with excitement.

The Allsie straightened up a little more, though kept his body in a relaxed position: his left arm hung lightly in the air in front of him, and his legs were poised to allow him a quick movement should the need arise.

"I hope you can deliver more than that," Hera said haughtily. "If you're best moves involve nothing but spells involving singular elements, you're far outclassed. Why don't I show you what a real master of the elements can do?"

Hera brought back his left hand and thrust it forward again, index and middle fingers outstretched. The result was a bolt of lightning that seared towards his opponent.

In the exact same movement, Hera sheathed his blade on his back and thrust his right palm forward, sending a bright, blazing plume of fire searing towards his foe.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jake chuckled as his grandfather blocked the dark knight's attack. "Wow, I haven't seen gramps this focused in a while. This guy must be good; Gramps is gonna have the time of his life."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Alright. This might hurt a bit," Brome cautioned. He placed the bag on the fox's head and positioned the centre of the bandage over it. "Felldoh, lend me a claw again, would you?"

"Why," Felldoh snorted. "He's just a fox. And you're a great healer on your own, you don't need my help."

Brome slightly flushed with pride at Felldoh's compliment, though the flattery did not escape him. "It's still easier if I have an assistant. It'll make it a lot less painful for both you and him; if you don't help, you'll probably be listening to his whimpering for a good while."

"Fine," Felldoh grumbled. He pushed down none-too-gently on the water bag, as Brome wrapped the bandage around it in a neat circular pattern. It was done in a few moments, and Brome nodded in satisfaction as he did up a tight little knot to keep the bandage in place. He made sure to leave openings for the fox's ears to poke through, so the vulpine could hear things as well.

Brome fished through his pouch and took out a small dagger. Holding it up to the light, he showed the fox his reflection. "What do you think?"

"Pitiful mortal..."

Julius said with disgust as he witnessed how his attempt to strike down Hera Ledro was easily foiled. With disgust, he withdrew his blade and stood firmly before Hera Ledro. He soon noticed that his opponent was taking more offensive actions for he was now releasing a bolt of powerful lightning and a wave of soaring flames straightly to were Julius was standing.

"Your hope ends here...."

Julius didn't move, for he was aiming to face Hera Ledro's attacks head on. The dark knight, bending his knees and the stretching his legs, sent himself straight towards Hera Ledro. He retracted his blade, grasping the hilt with both hands, and then slashed from left to right to counter attack the bolt of lightning.

His blade struck the energy sphere, making it burst in an array of static and small lightnings. His sword then absorbed part of Julius then slightly twisted his wrist, retracted his blade and then lunged it forward through the flames.

The fire engulfed Julius' blade, surrounding as if it were going to melt the steel. Fortunately, Julius managed to sum up his stamina and mana to take a hold of the spell and used it to his advantage. The flames around Julius's blade began to extinguish and fade, and suddenly they burst to life once again; purple flames instead.

"And your meaningless existence with IT!!!"

His eyes widened, his forehead cover in sweat and his core sadistic stare being shown right within the irises of his vicious eyes; Julius was determined to impale him with his blade. As Julius's sword went forward, the tip of his blade went straight to Hera Ledro's torso.

Hera's eyes widened at the fact that his opponent had countered his assault so easily. It was hardly Hera's best, but the power behind the attacks were nothing to be scoffed.

And then Hera saw the attack. The dark knight lunged at Hera, completely on the offensive. The sword, flaming from Hera's own attack, came speeding towards Hera's torso.

Hera's move was a simple manoeuvre: he twisted to his right and leapt forward. He whispered in the dark knight's ear as he sped by. "You've gotta be able to do better than that."

The Allsie passed by the knight and turned around, landing ten feet behind him. This time, his voice was louder, and far more mocking. "Come on, I was expecting a challenge. All you've done are magic tricks and side show illusions, no real fighting." Hera laughed scornfully.

"You say you've met me before, yet it has been far too long since I fought one as weak and predictable as you. I sensed power from you, when you first came. Now I can see it was all just a show. You have nothing; no power, no skill, no independency. You're just a crazed knight, desperate to be noticed. So you learned some stuff from a bag of tricks. Big deal." Hera's mocking tone disappeared, and it became a clear challenge. "Don't hold back. Come at me with all your strength, and maybe you'll actually hit me."

The whole while, Hera's hand lay casually against the hilt of his sword. He drew it out with a deliberate scraping of the metal, and pointed the weapon at his foe. "Come at me and don't hold back!"

OOC: I haven't posted in...pfft, forever....time to see if we can revive this RP...

IC:

Zeria's eyes welled up with tears as sorrow filled her heart. To fight Julius would mean to go against all that she was...to go against her love...but to not fight would mean letting her allies down and dooming them to suffer. She struggled with herself, trying to sort out what she should do. Logic VS emotion. Neither sounded good to her.......until the pained rage she had locked away began to burst forth. An agonizing roar spilled past her lips.

"JUULLIIIIUUUUSS!"

Tears streamed down her cheeks and she aimed her blades at him.

"WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOU?! WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE THIS?!"

She choked back a sob.

"This.......THIS IS NOT THE JULIUS I KNOW AND LOVE!.....You....cannot be my Julius....!"
