The Rise and Fall of Final Fantasy

I found this interesting series of blogs/articles/retrospectives about the Final Fantasy series.
Its quite funny, and the article about FF VII is particularly interesting, and witty. So far I've only read the ones about FF VII, VIII and IX, they seem quite in depth, listing references to other games and franchises etc.
Check it out, even though the author kinda bitches about FF IX, which is my favourite.

It made me laugh, it made me cry, but it definitely pissed me off. Why? Well, because it just did.

FF1 + FF3 reviews made me smile on the inside. No idea why, but the fact that he said that Black Mages/Whatever their promoted state is are over-rated made me want to rip his right arm off and beat the author with it.

Overall, they were fairly accurate with my ideas.

Hmm thats odd most of the people I know love Final Fantasy IX I've even had to buy a 2nd copy of it because i 'over-played' the first copy.

Okay, no offense -- This guy is a loser and he just has too much time on his hands. It depends on every person's point of view, really. But this guy.. I dont know, he's just so egotistical and annoying. It was a fun read though, I'll give him that. :]

It was his personal view, my favorite FF by far is IX but i didn't rage at his opinion on the game and the retrospective as a whole. It did make me laugh as i like that cynical type of writing, and it did make me look at the games from a different angle, like all the references to other books/games etc.

Yeah honestly IX was my favorite and this guy really makes IX seem like a w/e Final Fantasy game. I still think it was awesome.

Btw, there's a petition directed to Square about remaking FFIX. So please check it out.
