Dirge of Cerberus The Seventh Spinoff

The more FF7 games and films that come out, the better. It is by far the greatest FF game after all.

As much as i love FF and dont wanna diss it, i totally agree. In my opinion, all of the spin offs were crap (apart from Crisis Core and Before Crisis), but the others were crap. Advent Children , if that's a spin off title/film, i thought that was bad. It had great moments and stunning visuals, but the story was weak. Plus, being a film, it wasn't interactive like the game. Bit of a let-down i thought.

They need to stop the crap and just give us what we want...an FFVII remake.
 
DoC LE - I think its a good idea for those japense guys as they are so technology advanced it makes sense to put it on what everyone has rather then oh what say the PSP.

I liked AC and DoC and i dunno about the rest as I have not seen/played them.

WE NEED A FFVII REMAKE!!

Advent Children was brilliant.

DoC in my opinion was good but not up to FF standards. And like yourself I have never played the rest.
 
I really enjoyed DoC as it was different to what we are used to and the story line was pretty ok, the plot element near the end about the head of DG was cool, I loved that, the battle was a bit annoying but it was fun.

I have to disagree with you there. The spinoffs are ruining FF7's reputation. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing. And Square-Enix also have games that actually deserve a sequel more than FF7. *cough*chronoseries*cough*vagrantstory*cough*

WHAT? They're CRAZY! Ah...oh,well...they're just wasting they're own time and money.I think they're going overboard with the 'FFVII' stuff.I love FFVII but they're overdoing it now.

I couldn't take another friggin' FFVII sequel... FFVII was perfect until they made tall those damn sequels. I could have shot myself after DOC.
 
Square are bound to make the most of the FFVII franchise, because FFVII has been the most popular FF game. I enjoyed the original game, I enjoyed Advent Children, I've enjoyed the DoC sequels, and I've yet to play CC and BC. It's a clever move for Square, expanding outside the typical 'RPG'. DoC was more of a Devil May Cry shoot-'em up game, Advent Children was a movie, the original was just a regular RPG, but a very good one at that.


The sequels and prequels are cool because they answer loads of the unanswered questions for the original. DoC goes more into Vincent's past. CC tells you more about Zack, who's story had massive gaps in it in the original game, and BC delves into how the Turks came into the whole thing. And they may go to making even more sequels/prequels to answer the new questions brought up in those games. I'll probably keep buying and playing these games for the sake of it.

Everyone complains about them, yet the majority still go and buy their games. If you think this is ruining FFVII, then just leave them to it. It mustn't be ruining the story if people keep buying and playing them.

Thats all they should have made and ended here. Then started a movie to FFI or something...Or a Chrono Trigger 2 =D with Crono, and Lucca and people in it...

I can't keep up with all these spin offs anymore, it was bad enough that i had to get advent children imported just to get Last Order, I point blank refuse to buy anymore unless they reach English shores....or I import it then tell my mum its another b-day prezzie like i did with AC hehehe

Me too! I've read them and TMWTTP is good. Makes a bit more sense of Aeriths presence at the end of VII and how the planet was saved, without actually raping VII's original story. The two parts of OTWTAS were not as good but worth reading to get an introduction to AC and to find out what happened to the team after the events of the original game.

As for the rest of the compilation;

BC would have been good as a GBA or DS game, why stick it on a Mobile system majority of the world can't fucking get hold off! What I know of it, it doesn't really effect the original story much, more of a game full of intesting references and cameos. Though the appearence of
Jade WEAPON
should be replaced by something else for general storyline purposes.

CC looks as if it will be a good game. But I can't help feel it will mess up more of the story. We don't need it, but it should be god.

We didn't need AC at all. We didn't need a sequal, especially in film form. It ruines a lot of VII (certain people magicly turning up alive when they got blasted to smithereens...) and the story of it isn't really necassary. Looks good and cool to watch but thats it.

DoC is another rip off. We didn't really need to know more about Vincent at all, it was all already there. The only real new things were developments that were unecassary. And it ruined Chaos. I always thought Chaos as a nice referance to FFI's final boss, Vincent turning into Chaos just like Garland before him...but now its something completly diffrent and canon! >_< Plus why is the Train Graveyard of Sector 7 still intact....

The only thing intriging in this game is if you get the G Files, to help set up for CC. and that wouldn't even be good if none of this compilation shizzle was happening. And as for DoS:LM, see BC.

Iv been trying to get hold of that maiden one, but my knowledge of the internet is very limited lol, the most I could find was on Wiki, haven't even heard of the other one tho, I'd like to get my mitts on them if someone can point me in the right direction:D

Ive actually never heard of any books about this. Thanks for the link Moonchild im definitly going to consider getting these books.
 
I certainly didn't know anything about books on this series, but i wouldn't mind it, nonetheless..
