K, I just need the best spot for dodging lightning, I want them coming at me quic k so I can get this out of the way asap

I know Stang and Justin gave me some advice on this but it was a couple of weeks ago in the SB, and Ive forgotten

So best area to dodge?

Thanks in advance peeps

Apparently, there's a place near a cactuar stone where you can trap yourself between it and a wall, and you can rack them up quickly there.

I'm trying to remember exactly where though >< As I'm just paraphrasing what it said in my guide.

I know that one, thats where I wedged myself, but the bolts have to much of a gap between hits and i get impatient, then I get hit -__-

Im looking to dodge them thick and fast so i can get it done asap

Although I just got hit twice already, so it can fuck off for today

I don't think there are any quicker places, since that's the one all the guides recommend. I think it's supposed to be a test of your patience and all, so they'll want you to get bored and fuck up :gasp:

Just walk around everywhere, WALK not run. You'll get enaugh litghting bolts, I promise you.

The circles with X's in them are the lightning towers. In places distant enough from them, one bolt means few strikes, two means average, and three means a lot of strikes.

Hope that helps.

I just used the area before the going to the Al Bhed Shop. It's a large area. You can just stand still and dodge 5 without moving then run back again and repeat. Although I never reached 200...I had somewhere in the region of 100-150.

Well I totally gave up, I decided to pull an eye lash out of my eye at the wrong moment, I think Il just go back when I have a no enc accessory to equip, I WAS doing ok, at that part near the agency until the eyelash did me over, but yeah, cheers for that map man, Il go back and consult that as and when I get no encounters equipped

I tried this when I was passing through for the first time without the no enc and was fine until you dodge, inevitable run back to where you were, have a fight, then get zapped straight after. got to about 50 so waiting til I have the no enc and just going to chin it out.

incidently, last time I did it, i did the "shut the curtains, look slightly off screen, take regular breaks" method. Think i paused every 20 dodges or so.

Theres that rock you can wedge yourself behind in the south, theres a cactuar stone there, I got up to like 75/85 about 4 times in a row til I lost my temper and gave up, so you dont NEED no enc, but I think they bolts in that spot dont come fast enough so my eyes just glaze over and I end up getting hit. Its so damn infuriating ¬.¬

Yeah i think I need them to come thick and fast too, otherwise you will just get bored! Can't bloody wait to start this one! Am defo leaving that til last out of the celestial weapons. It's the last tricky one left for me though ^_^

Yup, I recall talking about this in the SB a few weeks back. That map that killian put up is something similar to what I've seen. Basically, exit the travel agency going north, when you get to where the split in the road comes together, you'll be on a downhill on the left side of tower 6 (FFX-2 reference). This area has a very good striking rate and it seems to work rhythmically (you can basically time out each strike).

As for more advice, this may sound crazy, but shut all your lights off and sit in the complete darkness. This will help amplify the flash from the strikes. Doing this in a really quiet environment helps a lot too (though I know for you, that's probably not easy with Ellie and Velcro). I've never done it without No Encounters, so the random battle factor will make it tougher for sure.

Anyways, I hope that helps somewhat. I know this has bugged you for a while, so I wish you the best of luck!

It can be done without No Encounters, as long as you're extra careful. Although I didn't go all the way to 200, in my Auron-Only challenge I dodged 100 bolts on my first visit to the Thunder Plains, in order to get the Strength Spheres and HP Spheres.

I found the best place to be a small hill just North of rin's tavern place on your left, run to the top of the hill then after every doge run back upto the top. Got the Venus sigil with some minor angry moments.......178 dodges then got hit. Torture, almost as bad as that stupid sun sigil....
