Combatants - Alumar Loren and Belselk Ebenhardt (Red Fox vs. Fair_Game)
Arena - City Ruins
The remains of a broken civilization shone brightly in the moonlight of night. Buildings broken, upturned roads, fragmented windows; the entire city was a mess.
It was the remains of a city targeted by a nuclear holocaust, what humanity had been driven to do to itself out of fear and loathing. Not a single brush of vegetation was in sight, not a scrap of life besides the mutated scavengers that roamed the streets, desperately searching for any sign of food or proper shelter. Some were human, some weren't.
The city was New York, centrally Times Square. The billboards and giant advertising screens were smashed and hanging loosely from their perches, where the slightest impact could sever their bonds and send them crashing to the ground. Some already had, and the upturned pavement was littered with the broken remains of glass and other various materials.
In a flash of light that sent the scavengers scurrying, three figures appeared in the darkness. One was a mage; powerfully magical and cunning beyond measure. The second was a warrior, easily identifiable as one who specialized in physical combat, though talented in other areas as well. The final figure was a floating woman draped in a white robe, her face veiled by the hood of her robe.
As she spoke, her voice was soft and harmonic, beautiful to the sound. “Warriors, you have been chosen, chosen to lead the way into a bright future. Before you can assume your rightful position, however, you must face a series of tests: a series of battles to the death!”
“Should you lose a battle, you will be returned to your world. Should you die in battle, you shall be returned to life as a phoenix would be: reborn anew!”
“Here, the abilities you hold that are aligned with Darkness will be amplified to twice their original strength. This is a land of desolation and chaos, so make use of the terrain wisely.”
“Fight your hardest, brave warriors, and show us that you are capable of leading the worlds into a bright future!” In a flash and a lengthy treble note, the woman vanished.
The two fighters were alone among the ruins. Who could repair the damage done by the ancestral creatures of the land?
