FFXIII-2 Understanding the setting for FFXIII-2 (possible spoilers)

I don't think it was. "because God did it" isn't a reason, it's how not why. There's never an explanation as to why Hope was transformed into a child again. It made no sense.
Not because God did it, because God wanted it. apparently that was the most appealing form for Bunivelze.

I believe this is simply Bhunivelze's way of tricking Lightning. He probably felt that Lightning had more sympathy towards child-like Hope than towards grown-up Hope, since Lightning never really meets grown-up hope during her life.

I suppose this is the most likely reason. I just wish it had actually been explained since it was the thing that bothered me the most about the game.

Despite even Lightning recognizing that he stayed the same, and not had changed.

Precisely. He is the same for Lightning because Lightning never meets grown up hope.
But even Lightning found it odd that he remained the same. Which was a bit of an issue....Keeping Hope the same age doesn't have that

The world of Final Fantasy XIII is a depressing one. even affer reading the entire discussion (half of which i already knew), it still shows drastic changes. it makes it difficult to keep up with it.
