Me too. It would have been Larsa, Terra, Buntz and Onion Knight. The best of the best... :(

Why couldn't they put him in? Or at least someone else...*sigh*

Larsa is one cool little dude.
I would argue that ruining a loved and well established character is worse than adding in a character the fanbase doesn't particularly care for.

I can see your point its easier to ignore a lesser character than it is to forgive the butchering of a great character.

IMO Terra was just great the way she was, but you say you didnt like her Alexis interesting:hmmm:

:hmmm:
I can see her point, Terra was kind of made a bit whiny...and damsel-in-distress-y...

From what I've heard, Vaan is really popular in Japan, which is probably the reason why he got in Duodecim. I heard he was really funny in the Japanese version of FFXII. >__>

He was funny?!
:hmmm:
I need to learn Japanese.

They did to Terra in Dissidia what they did to Cloud in FF Advent Children and Crisis Core.

I'd really loved the characters of Terra and Cloud in their original games, and did not view their characters in the same way as these later games have portrayed them as. Cloud in Advent Children became more depressed and moody than I believed he was, and Terra in Dissidia became weak and annoying, and as Dishy says she became a damsel in distress.

I did not see Terra as such in her original game, at least not to the same extent, or not to an annoying extent anyway. I still loved her in Dissidia though, as I was able to play as Terra. I just imagined her being how I viewed her in FFVI instead.

Quadruple :rage:!!

Or something like that...........Argor why do you have to be so------Diplomatic?
your to non partisan in this matter, choose a side:

Hate and Kill Vaan:yay: Yes, say yes

Like and Love Vaan::rage: No, say No

Just kidding mate:lew: I dont know why this had to happen?

Lol. :D Even Vaan deserves fair treatment.

Besides, I don't want to make any video game characters cry. :sad2: Especially Vaan... Imagine what he'd be like in floods of tears?

I'm more shocked than disappointed. I thought they would of looked at 12 as a reason to put another girl on the side of Cosmos and add Ashe. No skin off my back mind, thinking about it, they couldn't of really put anyone in from 12 that I would of really been excited about playing as.

Well, in my opinion, this is a first step in making more "side"-characters like Kain and Tifa come into Dissidia. In order for them to bring in these characters, they first have to put in all the main characters from each and every game, right? So, instead of being all like: "This is stupid. Take him out.", think instead like this: "Yes, they finally got shitty Vaan in there, now they can focus on what I really want." How do you like thinking like that? :-)

The japanese version of FFXII is the same, but with annoying kanji. Definetly prefer the american version, because of the enviroment of XII,kinda cyberpunk,SW like.
And I like Vaan, specially on RW,he shines there.

But well,of course,would prefer Ashe,or Basch.

They really did something to Terra's character....Oh Nomura. :awesome:

Me too. I noticed the change right away, but I still loved her and played as well. But it would have been a lot better with the FFVI Terra instead... :(

This basically. If you compare Terra's personality from Final Fantasy 6 to that of Dissidia you would notice some pretty big changes in how she acted. I ended up impersonating her FF6 persona during gameplay to make up for it. I really don't get why they mess with their personalities so much like that. They were fine the way they were. There's a difference between character development and doing a 180.

Thinking on the positive side, maybe SE will change his personality and he'll become more likable, and he'll be loved by all ! :)

A few weeks ago Vaan's Japanese voice actor stated on his blog whether Vaan will be in DDFF.

Well no wonder the Japanese voice actor of Vaan was getting confused; SE changed his bloody voice. Something to do with Takeda's (original voice) company; he was working for another place back when he did XII, and now there's some contract issues or something. Vaan's voice will now be done by Kenshou Ono.

So if anyone here was a fan of Vaan's original Japanese voice, you may be disappointed. Many of his fangirls in Japan will be devastated I'm sure, since a lot of them were into Vaan simply because of the actor.

:confused::confused:Whaaaaaaa! I seriously GOT to get out! of oold games, And get Into NEW games! i should really, read the new's everyday! when did VAANN CAME INTO DISSIDIA?

Recently.

I suppose SE thought he was the most popular character in 12....I think Fran is more popular than him xD

Basically what Konami did to Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 4? Because Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 2 was, from what I remember, pretty over in Japan much like Vaan seems to be, but when he made his debut over here he was considered an annoying cry baby, I thought Rose was far worse but that's another discussion, so when he came back in Metal Gear Solid 4 they made him another generic badass with a sword to make him more likable.

Wouldn't surprise me to see something similar happen to Vaan in Dissidia.

Yeah maybe they'll change him to make him more likable with the westerners like Raiden from Metal Gear Solid. SE has already given Vaan a white shirt to hide his creepy looking abs in the DS sequel so maybe they'll do something to improve his personality. I actually liked Raiden from Metal Gear Solid, don't know why people disliked him so much. He was kind of cute and less rough and tough like Snake was.
