So what do you think of the winners of these awards? Any surprises? all go as expected? Want to argue about any of them?

Only thing I have to laugh at is the fact that XBOX 360 winner wasn't an exclusive... think they would try to get Xbox 360 exclusive games for a winner...

Predictable, mindless bullshit. I really don't care for these popularity polls; they go hand-in-hand with biased media reviews and unjustified hype for what are otherwise mediocre games. I'd quite happily argue about most of them, but what would be the point? It's all a matter of opinion anyway.

tbh the only one's i agred with were the game of the year going to skyrim and the one minecraft won, it never about the awards it all about the trailer and how a big show they can do, sorry but the big games always win everything, tbh sonic generations should of have won a award but no it can't cuz it not a first person shooter

Game of the year: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I really don't think Skyrim should have won. Let's put the major bugs and lagging aside... The game was just bland. Yes, there was a lot to do, but the main story, side stories and combat system weren't complex. The world was large but lacked colour and therefore aesthetic variety. :/ I know a lot of people love this game, but I personally feel it wasn't a major achievement. :/ Also, it doesn't appear as the best 360, PS3 OR PC game, so how did it win overall? :gonk:

Studio of the year: Bethaesda
Despite consistently releasing unfinished games full of bugs?

Best Xbox 360 game: Batman: Arkham City
I haven't played Arkham City so can't really judge this. However, I do wish Portal 2 had been on here. It was so original. The puzzles were superbly devised and the script was well-written and witty.

Best PS3 game: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
Based on my experience of PS3 games this year, I certainly agree with this. :)

Best Wii game: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Well, it's certainly one of two potential winners. Skyward Sword is fantastic - the aesthetic design is perfectly suited to the Wii's capabilities and the motion controls work wonders. :) However, having heard so many good things about Xenoblade Chronicles, I can't help but feel it could have been here too.

Best PC Game: Portal 2
Hooray, Portal 2! I'm glad it appeared somewhere. :)

Best RPG: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Just no...

Best Multi-player: Portal 2
The multiplayer was certainly fantastic but it was only half of the game so it feels slightly odd placing it here...

Best Motion Game: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
No doubt about it. :ryan:

Best Graphics: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
They were pretty darn good, yes, but it's a shame the award is for graphics as opposed to aesthetics. I don't like judging games on their 'graphics.'

Best Performance by a Human Male: Stephen Merchant as Wheatley (Portal 2)
Yes! :D Wheatley could have been so annoying but Stephen Merchant did a super job. :)

Best Performance by a Human Female: Ellen Mclain as Glados (Portal 2)
Her performance was also super. She's so good at delivering her lines! The writing is only half of what makes the script and characters in this game great. The way the actors engage with the script and read it is the other.

Tbh guys, after they admitted the Zelda series into the Video Game Hall of Fame I lost all interest on the rest of the show. I got my feels out like a little bitch and I regret nothing. I was also happy that the Joker won something...as a character, but I honestly forgot what it was. Watchuing the whole thing was entertaining enough so yah. *shrug* The premeres were alright and the only one that did clal my attention was a zombie game who's name I already forgot.

Game of the year: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
:hmmm: If uncharted 3 was multiple platform it could have been on this spot.
Studio of the year: Bethaesda
IMO Bioware should have this award.
Best Xbox 360 game: Batman: Arkham City
Gears of War 3? lol I also think its funny as hell its not an exclusive title.
Best PS3 game: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
This truly deserves the award :ohoho:
Best Wii game: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Best Shooter: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Haha I love this game. Sometimes simplicity is the way to go (y)
Best Action Adventure Game: Batman: Arkham City
Yet to play this game, but I will soon hopefully.
Best Graphics: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
yes for a 720p game it has the best graphics I have ever seen in a game.

I've seen a few people complain about this, and I'd like to set it straight :wacky: A game does not have to show up in any other category to be eligible for game of the year. It's an entirely different category on its own. Not to mention this is only the VGAs and only counts as one GOTY award.

I myself think that Skyrim was a pretty good game. The PS3 version was bad, though, because of the bugs it came with. PC version didn't have those problems. Nothing wrong with it winning GOTY. But best RPG...no. The Witcher 2 had not only better graphics, but it's a much better RPG. I don't think many WRPGs should even be considered RPGs the way JRPGs are. Mass Effect 2, contrary to popular belief, is not and RPG. The original was. They dumbed it down. Doesn't mean it was a bad game, though. I think the Witcher 2 should've won best graphics, best RPG, and maybe even best PC game. Portal 2 was good, but I enjoyed the Witcher 2 so much more. I am glad that Portal 2 won best MP, though. Was pretty sure Joker was up there for best character, but I don't see that. I don't think any game on a console can win best graphics. Most of them don't put out in 1080p, and Batman Arkham City looked horrendous on the console (but it was still a good game). Jagged edges and some nasty textures didn't help it. Uncharted 2 looked good, though, so I'd think that Uncharted 3 doesn't look bad for a console game.

Studio of the year: Bethesda

...:srsly:

No doubt Skyrim is a great game and all, but it's hard to accept this if they have left the PS3 version of the game so unbelievably halfhearted. Have you seen that lag problem the PS3 version of the game is victim to? I know it doesn't break the game, but you would need the patience of a saint to be able to play through the minimal frames per second rates and tolerate it. In fact, this problem has had me completely put off from Skyrim. But yeah, sure. Skyrim definitely seems like an awesome game, but let's overlook that tiny lag problem, why not?

Best PS3 game: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

It hasn't exactly been a stellar year of PS3 titles, so I would have to agree with this. It's not the amazing OHMYGODYOUMUSTPLAYTHISBEFOREYOUDIE game that people make it out to be, but it's definitely one of the PS3's greatest hits yet.

Best Wii game: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

I dunno, I've not played Skyward yet, but I hiiiiiiighly doubt it beats Xenoblade as my personal best Wii game. Still, I suppose with Xenoblade still unavailable to the American continent, it would have had to be Zelda. Bar Xenoblade and Zelda, the Wii lineup has been dire this year...and in preceding years.

Best Shooter: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

You mean, most popular shooter. Popularity doesn't mean the best by any means.

Best Adapted Video Game: Batman: Arkham City

Can't wait until I get my hands on this. I still can't believe how much I enjoyed Arkham Asylum despite the preconception that superhero video games rarely turn out well.
