vincent valentine best ff 7 character ?

I liked Vincent as a character, but I wouldn't call him the best in the game. I think Cloud, Aerith, Red XIII and Cid were also quite good.

I'll admit that Vincent does add a lot to the plot and it is a wonder why he was only an optional character.
 
Vincent was definitely the coolest, I think. But in terms of him being the best in battle, I'd have to disagree. He's nice to have around when you first get him, but eventually you come to notice a lot of discrepancies.

1.) His ultimate weapon is horrible. Why would you want to spend so much time powering it up when you're already so close to the end of the game

2.) His limit breaks are useful at first, but they definitely don't stand up to par late game. And most of them are elemental and can prove to be a burden in certain battles. And you can't control him until he dies_ so all the magic and support from him becomes obsolete
