when it comes to the weapons that im normally stuck with i would say that i like the cerberus with a long barrel a scope just in case and a little added fire materia.

I don't seem to have the option to upgrade it either, it should be on the mod list (faded if you cannot aford the upgrade) right?

I found out u have to wait until chapter 8 to upgrade to ultima

i absolutely love the death penalty! but still, the M Cerberus with normal barrel, scope, and fire materia is pretty awesome....

All the weapons are good in their own way

by the way I have all the stuff maxed

average=ultima weapon+materia floater+normal barrel+fire materia(level 3)
speed=blast machine gun+sniper scope+short barrel+recoil limiter
power=bayonet rifle+sniper scope+long barrel+cerberus relief

I found out that if you start a new game on Very Hard with the toy gun then you can upgrade it at any time with enough Gil.

Finally.. someone who knows what they are talking about... you can upgrade at any time with enough gil and you get it in edge after getting the key card from the boy, turn around and go back in building, its in the corner of first floor

so my opinion is

i like the sniper because you can hit targets from a long way away, also mixed woth fire or lightning materia.

I'd say Vincent's best is powered cerberus combined with long barrel P modification beta.
It does loads of damage, a good firing rate, nice weight, the only downside is it uses 3 bullets to the round.
