Is there anybody here besides me who prefers the sound of Vinyl over CDs? I personally can tell the difference between vinyl and CD, and Vinyl sounds WAY better
Anybody else like me?

Well vinyl has the retro and classic feel and sound to it. But if your talking about quality CD wins hands down. Although I personally prefer playing some music on vinyl and it adds to the feeling and atmosphere but CD is much more universal and (cant think of the word here), but yeah...

I do agree that the sound of good quality, well preserved vinyl is superior to that of the CD format. The problem is though, that it's such a damn fragile format and it doesn't take much to get a lot of surface noise or a slight hiss when you play it. So over all I still prefer CD's.

I'm completely undecided with this one. It honestly really depends on what mood I'm in, and what I'm listening to and why.

I mean, that vintage feel, especially with classic rock bands? Nothing beats good old vinyl for that. I can't stand listening to Led on a CD or just old MP3. Especially if I'm in the mood to chill out.

On the other hand, newer music, I find doesn't bode so well on vinyl. Of course, I haven't heard everything on vinyl, but there are a few newer albums I got on vinyl because they offered them as like, special editions or something. Sometimes I enjoy, sometimes I regret coughing up twenty-something bucks and then go download online anyways.

I guess I'm really prefer older music on vinyls and newer music on mp3/cd.

Vinyl is awesome!! 666 by Aphrodite's Child is never the same after you hear it on Vinyl, the warmth of the instruments compared just make the CD edition look meek. On the other hand, vinyl is bulkier and also the needle is more prone to damage, not that that's a problem

Vinyl is awesome. It does have a much different sound to CDs.. and not necesarrily always a bad one, as some poeple think. I found i can always always hear more, on a Vinyl than I can a CD, like all of the subtle background instruments.

Then of course, you get the whole groovy retro feel. And I'm a bit retro inclined, so that flows with me pretty well. I find old Classic Rock just gels really well on vinyl, compared to CDs. Albums like Led Zeppelin, Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd, The Beatles.. they sound so much better on vinyl to me.

Also, Bleach by Nirvana has a much better sound on vinyl, for some reason. You can pick up every noise that Cobain inflicts on the guitar. It's just jammin'.

I own quite a few vinyls. Not as much as I'd like to but they're hard to get hold of at times (especially near new copies). I own nearly every Zeppelin album, Dark Side of the Moon, Rainbow - Rising, Nirvana - Bleach (best album, IMO), Fleetwood Mac - Tusk, a few Beatles albums, Deep Purple - Made in Japan.

Of course, CDs have their many advantages as well. :)
Main one being that they last a lot longer, and aren't as fragile. Which is why I keep a CD back up of every vinyl I have, instead of just playing the vinyls continuously. CD's are also much more convenient and easy to play - you just wack 'em on and away you go. Vinyls take more care. :)

I love vinyl. My record collection is upwards of 100 (7"s, 10"s and LPs)
Can't really afford to buy as much as I do, but screw it.

There are a few albums that blend so much better when you hear them on vinyl.
