What Are You NOT Loking Forward To In The Final Fantasy X Remaster?

Don't want to experience the blitzball again. I lose every time and it takes like 20 minutes to go through all the tutorial things. Still no help -__-

The grinding in areas like Mt. Gagazet and the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth that I usually exploit for money and level-ups, will be a pain to spend even MORE hours in.

The Seymour experience. Blegh. The battles were easy to me, but him as a character... no.

Cloister of Trials aren't too bad, I just need to get up off my ass in the middle of my playing to go find a walkthrough, though. -__-

I am not looking forward to playing like a 100 blitzball games for Wakka's ultimate weapon.. Oh god! I actually dont mind the laughing scene and the chocobo racing but I cringe at the idea of having to dodge 200 lightnings again. Nevertheless I will only be getting a ps3 next year so I still have a little bit of time to get myself in the right state of mind for the annoying sidequests.

I also want to fill the whole sphere grid on atleast 5 characters for the first time. I am also not very fond of catching 10 of every monster for Nemesis but oh well I am a completionist so I will have to put up with all this not so pleasant things.

Seymour just Seymour ! :gonk:

Kefka and Sephiroth are creepy in a psychopath sort of manner but Seymour is creepy in a stalker, rapist, pedophile sort of manner and just the way he breathes when he first meets Yuna ......uuuuuuughhhhhhghh...

Maybe if you're a male it's not so bad but it's still pretty gross and disturbing on so many levels. I just picture him in a white van just stareing at Yuna and drooling and then following Yuna home and just.... uuuuuughhhghgh...

It does feel good to smash him again and again with Aeons and Magic and everything though. but still I'll be having nightmares of a young Yuna being chased by a Seymour holding a lollipop for a while till then.
:damon:

All of the ultimate weapons minigames except for collecting all the aeon's for Yuna's Nirvana. That kinda goes a long with the storyline, and who doesn't want some extra aeons to summon? Anima and the Magus Sisters? Awesomesauce. Yojimbo....not so much. But he's right there in the Calm Lands anyway. So I'm not going out of the way to get him....so whatever.

But mainly: The lightning dodge, the butterfly minigame, the cactuar minigame, etc. I don't mind the chocobo racing for some reason. I actually quite like it. Probably because I get through it every time I play FFX. It's not that much of a challenge for me.

Besides that: leveling up to beat the Dark Aeons. I normally don't mind cheating a bit with hacks or something (I had one for my PS2). I only do that after completing everything the first time I play (or in this case, I leveled up high enough without cheating). So everytime after that I don't mind doing it because I've already done it once. Now I have no choice but to actually go through all the hard work again :gasp:

Just kidding, I don't really mind that.

Well, I'm sure Blitzball won't be improved..like..AT ALL. Granted, I did enjoy it for what it was in X, it was completely ruined in X-2. I'm also sure the laughing scene won't be changed because Squenix doesn't give any number of fucks about their fanbase anymore, or actually dedicating time to making quality games. The voice acting is another issue, because I can't see that being even marginally better. To be honest, I expect the textures to be -slightly- improved and that's it.

Well if they bring back the VA's to redo some lines it could improve. Especially in regards to JAT. Compare his work in X-2, Dissidia, and Dissidia 012 to FFX. He's gotten better in the role of Tidus over time.

Well I wrote what I would like on my blog. /shamelessplug /dontevencare

Yeah I'm really not looking forward to any of those mini-games either, hopefully they can cut those out... right? And I suppose I'm not looking forward to witnessing the long introduction again, the game only really gets going a couple of hours in.

Aren't most of the mini-games optional anyway? Apart from blitzball in Luca for the Tournament, but I'm pretty sure you don't have to do anything else.

I have to agree with that, tides voice actor has gotten better over the years.... dissidia 1 was by far the best job he done.... remembered something.... seymour..... :gonk: god please no, not him..... not the worst FF bad guy ever :hmph:

Of course, a lot of people just think the ways to get the ultimate weapons are completely obnoxious.

They are annoying, but if it were easy to get them they wouldn't be ultimate weapons.

That's obviously not what it's about, I'd never complain in a JRPG that something was 'too hard' to get. There seems to be a fine line between something being difficult and something being obnoxious.

They were ridiculous, repetitive, not fun, time-wasting, irritating (which I believe is the one element that is parallel to difficulty) it was almost like it was malicious to the player. If you're one of those gamers who think that the good parts of games should be unlocked through bad gameplay mechanics, instead of difficulty and something which requires a lot of strategy, I can't really argue.

...I liked the way you got ultimate weapons in X. I didn't like the side-quests as such, but it made it realistic for me to actually have a go at getting the weapons, which is not something I can ever usually do since usually it means killing extremely hard optional bosses which I wouldn't call strategic or good gameplay machanics either.

Those sidequests were a big fucking joke. How nerdy and no-lifed does Squeenix think their fans truly are?

"Oh, I think I'm gonna skip work today to give myself time to dodge 200 lightning bolts in a row."

Shit. I'm not looking forward to those either. But they have nothing to do with the remastered version. I honestly can't tell you what I'm not looking forward to, since we know so little. Nothing, practically.

It was still squaresoft when FFX was made. :)

Anyway, as much as I love Final Fantasy X I can't see myself getting this remaster. I got the PAL version of the game with the Dark Aeons so I've already done everything you can possibly do in the game, so theres just no point in doing it all again. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, but it would be too time consuming. If they had made just ONE thing different, I'd probably do it, but instead it will probably be the exact same game with higher resolution textures. >_<

I don't think FFX HD will win many brownie points with everyone, unfortunately. I will probably purchase it, but that's because 1) it's been awhile since I've played FFX, and 2) I need to add some *actual* games to my PS Vita collection - not just digital content for a price. Although this release is still not very good for the Vita considering it's still an OLD game and not a BRAND NEW game... xD Anyhow... /rant

The idea of playing the exact same game again but with better graphics doesn't appeal to everyone. Especially if you've either played FFX somewhat recently (like within the last year or so) or you put sooo much effort into your save file - getting the ultimate weapons, finishing the side quests, etc.

However- If there were some changes and additions to the game, I think that some fans would not be very receptive towards the changes && they would question why Square Enix bothered trying to incorporate some new stuff. (Although I'm all for making this game trophy-friendly! hehe :3)

It's a no-way street in that sense. It's the same reason as to why there probably will never be a FFVII remake (at least not any time soon; there's my silly hopefulness speaking, lol). Although fans did not particularly ask for a FFX remake at all, since the original PS2 version was wonderful as it was. I question the remaster/HD version myself. -__-; It obviously makes more sense to remake/remaster a classic FF game from the PSOne generation considering those games would need the most remastering graphics-wise. The PS2 era of games had pretty awesome graphics imo. >.>

I agree with Chanteru- if FFX is changed in any way from its original form I'd be extremely miffed. >:l (concerning the gameplay)
I'd like to see how they would change the visuals- so of course I'll be buying it. I replay FFX about every 3 months just to get attached to the story all over again. I guess I'm just curious to see what they'll do but I'm also worried. This could go very wrong.

I certainly will not be redoing the tedious ultimate weapon side quests. Noooooooooo way.

...You play the game this often?

Where the fuck have you been all my life? Same here, buddy. I play that shit like it's my religion. Also, +1 on the ultimate weapons part. Fuck that.

What am I most NOT looking forward to in regards to this game?

...this business of no news about it.

This kind of thing worries me...IMHO FFX is more deserving of a remake than FFVII, and besides that it should be easy to port to the PS3 and update. SE can basically just get the old engine running on PS3 and then replace its assets with higher detail versions and add shaders to the mix for the finishing touches. It's a time consuming process, I get that, but certainly not difficult for a veteran gaming company like SE. I'd take back everything I said about there being too many Seymour fights if that would speed things up...

Only things I'm not looking forward to are lightning dodging, butterfly catching, and the Chocobo race for Tidus' weapon. The rest is fun for me, especially blitzball and filling in the sphere grid. Very much looking forward to the Dark Aeons and Penance^_^
