What cheered you up today?

I received three items in the mail from ebay and JB Hi Fi!

I finally got the Sex and the City boxset, the Tangled Blu-ray and two Maybelline Mascara's that I'd been waiting on for over a week. >.<

The mascara's came just in time for a party on the weekend. XD

The news about Baldur's Gate..see the thread.
I admit to feeling excited about it.

My mommy cleaned my room for me
:inlove:

and I stayed after school to finish two quizzes, one of which I am certain I aced. And the test earlier in chemistry I think I did well on too. /smug

I JUST checked my school email and I heard back from my transitions clinical teacher. I have been waiting for over a month to hear where I got in for my final transitions clinical for school. My first choice was the NICU, second two choices were two different OB sites, and my last was the GI lab at my work.

I found out that I got in at the NICU! I'm like elated happy because I have been wanting this clinical experience for so long. I'm sooooooooo happy, nothing can ruin today :cali: <3

The news that Theatrhym is going to be making it outside Japan! I can't believe how amazing this is. I just hope it gets released in the UK the same time as it does in the US, we always tend to get left out and made to wait even longer for FF titles, which is kinda annoying. Also, it would be great if it came out before the Distant Worlds show in November :3

Getting noodles.

I haven't had a normal "meal" for a week. It was getting rather irritating to have to grab something quick and now I actually went to the Noodle restaurant to pick up a normal sized meal. Coke with ice cubes topped it off. ♥

The beginning of my long weekend. :inlove: Class tomorrow was canceled and the first class on Monday was also canceled. Start the weekend early, start the week late.

Hmmm, I'm glad that I came home from work today and still have plenty of time to finish homework for tomorrow. Class doesn't start till 3 p.m. I'm happy

I googled "how to get away with murder" and read some pretty funny stuff.

I’ve watched enough TV now to have a pretty good handle on how to do this. You’ve got your Law and Order, your CSI, Bones, Cold Case, First 48, The Wire, Dexter, Dragnet, It Takes a Thief, Matlock, Murder She wrote, Monk, Night Court, etc… I mean come on, with all of the quality programming that illustrates the inner workings of the justice system, how are murders even being figured out anymore.

If you have the time and REALLY want to make a go at this, get a job in the justice industry. Don’t do blood spatter or crime scene photographer, Dexter already took that and it’s now a suspicious position. For all intents and purposes, you could be the file clerk in the precinct basement, reading through all the case files, even pulling open case files on your own handiwork.

was laughing from start to finish :lew:

I managed to get one of my projects done literally hours from when it was due. Even though the conditions before that occurred weren't very pleasant. Had no money for the bus, so I had to leave early to walk to school (about 30-45 minutes long), but I didn't leave early enough to get breakfast first. I went to Starbucks anyway and got hot coffee, and it feels like it's 900 degrees outside. But I managed to get to school with 20 minutes to spare, and didn't get a late grade or any bad critique. So far, today is a swell day. :griin:

... Today i went to school, it was horrible... i got into so many fights/ arguements, nothing serious as you'd think.. so i went to sign up for night school after school, i couldnt cause i lost my ID witch was needed.. I dont care, i walked around the school then kicked my friends a**... it was fun, this changed my day a bit:domo:

I was in the parking lot unloading some stuff in the SUV and this lady was struggling with this huge dishwasher package. I guess she was going to return it; we were outside of Bed Bath & Beyond. So anyway she turned to me and asked for some help so I just smiled and went over and helped her heave it into her cart. She pretty much told me I was "so sweet" for doing that and it totally made my day. I <3 helping people.

I had a fun conversation with my music teacher and a couple of other students in the class. I haven't laughed as hard as i did earlier today in a long time. We were making fun of names that parents give their kids, ridiculous names mind. Nothing like Dean or Sam or simple common names like that. I needed that laugh to be honest and it made me remember that the small things in life make it worth living.

Western Digital finally confirmed that they have received my hard drive.

I'll probably be up and running on my new computer next week. I'd also bought some new parts with some money I'd gotten early this month for my birthday, so that's why I'm considering it "new". I did get my computer back in 2007, but since then everything but the CPU and Motherboard have been replaced, and I only recently replaced my PSU.

It's gonna be pretty sweet, 8 Gigs of Ram, Radeon HD 5770, 3.3 GHz triple core. Probably seems fair for some people, but i just have not been able to build a decent computer with my income.

at least i can finally buy drinks again and start focusing on getting an office chair or equally comfortable chair now

Getting in my bed after work. I ended up talking to Raye for about 20 minutes after my head hit the pillow. That, combined with how good my room felt and how tired I was and how amazing my bed is... yeah, that really got me going. I passed out in record time (25 minutes) and slept for 6 hours. I woke up in a good mood.

I have a new fandom and I am happy for it

My laptop is working a little faster now I'm moving a lot of memory onto an external hard drive my mum's partner gave to me. It's taking forever to sort out my music, but it's doing what I set out to do. Also, my personal favourite act for Britain's Got Talent won tonight. Yay!

I took a huge poo in the toilet and it was PUTRID smelling. It smelled like something crawled up my ass, died, sat there a week, and then I shit it out. Then I flushed and my roommate walked in right after me and had to smell it. He opened that door to a wall of stink. I laughed my ass off.

Seeing my grades for Psychology and English I (it was pretty ego-damaging realizing I had to re-take that course but I pushed through it) and getting my final grades back. I got a B+ in Psychology and an A in English, I never felt more validated to gloat over my academic grades before so much after pretty much giving two shits about it for a while. But then looking at it too in a retrospective manner, I gave myself that much needed swift kick in the ass and worked my butt off for only two classes. I stayed up until 3am, barely got any sleep, and no matter how dog-tired I was, I plowed through that stack of work like a crazy person. I studied for Psychology until my brain felt like it was going to implode on itself and I must've read that final English packet a good two to three times before I settled on what I was gonna do. I also took that English final half-starved so clearly I was maddeningly dedicated to my work. What also made my day was receiving this e-mail from my English professor who also worked as a journalist and whom I grew to deeply admire and respect during my semester working with her:

"Taylor,

I'm sure you realize that you earned an A in my class (93.85). You are a refined writer with a great work ethic. I am sure you will do well.

Let me know if you need any letters of recommendation in the future. I just found out that one of my former students who reminds me quite a bit of you got into Skidmore. Keep in touch!

Gen"

So yeah that put me on absolute cloud nine. I had to double check to make sure I really got that grade and then I woke up this morning and made a spur of the moment decision to check my Psych grade. I was soooo praying I got at least an A or a B but a B+ was a beautiful surprise. Mmmm I'm just so fucking happy that I passed those classes; another half-arsed attempt to pass would've resulted in more failures and more disappointments. But this is a huge wake-up call for me: I gotta keep this up and I definitely have to keep in touch with my English professor.
