What did you name your Final Fantasy characters?

I never really changed the default character names to be honest. They seemed cool enough on their own in my opinion.

I did name Squall "Kouji" in my first play through one time...But then started the game over again xD

I guess the only thing I change now is Aeris to "Aerith" *shrugs*
 
Oh yeah, and I named Red XIII Nanaki on my second playthrough. And I did name Cloud...Chocobo, cuz...well, I think its obvious why XD
 
haha, okay the first time i played X, i named tidus toya. o__o but other than that, i usually keep the default names..

squall = turnip!
leviathan = goldfishy
alexander = tincanman
siren = pavarotti
cerberus = spot

cloud = spike/blondie/foo'/ salami
barret = Mr. T
red xiii = doggums
vincent = lestat

so many more but i really cant think at the moment (too many bevvies)

mr t was my fav tho, really suited barret cause of the when he says 'foo' etc

if only he didnt want to get on the airship, thatd be perfect

i mostly named my main characters Rasio......since soul riever i have always loved that name
 
I'm not a big fan of changing the names of the characters in the games. I think there was only one instance where I did, and it was a joke between a friend of mine and I for the end of FFIX for Zidane to call out something outrageous when he was talking to Garnet.
 
The only ones I ever Renamed where from VI. After that I stopped just because I for a long time I could never remember their real names when discussing it with people.

A few I remember

SABIN- Bunny (Got a kick out of calling him Bunny don't know why)
CYAN - Dido
GAU - Bob
TERRA - Diana
SHADOW - Guidan (take a guess why :P)

Thats all I can remember

And one more, I always call Red XIII, Murdoc after my cat who died but was a bad ass cat who liked to fight.

On another note, a friend of mine always names the main character of any RPG Aidon. Which in turn he ended up naming his first Babby Boy haha. Of course he never let on where the name came from to his wife at the time. But she liked the name.

Personally, i never change the names of my characters on the first play through. After the first play through i would name them anything i usually try to name them with words that will change the meanings of sentences when other characters use their names, sad, but slightly funny :P
 
I kept all the names as they were,exept the main characters.I would name them my first name.
 
I always have two games on a final fantasy. One where I name characters anything I wish and the other where I keep the original names. It's just the way I function I guess..

Well, I only changed the names of 3 Characters in IX:
Zidane: Kyle, that's my name, so I did that
Vivi: Dylan, my brothers name, I did that because thats what we did when we got the game all those years ago, I'm a very nostalgic person
Amarant: Red, just because I thought it was kind of funny

although the weird part was, I started thinking of the character whenever somebody called my name

I also named Tidus Kyle in X, I can't believe they went the whole game without saying the main characters name though
 
Well the only game i did this was FFVII, i kept the Original ones in FFVI and FFVIII.

I named Cloud after me: Achilles. And as every person i loved it when the characters in game addressed me in my name :P
Apart from that i hated the name Red XIII i don't know why.
So i named him Red Lion :P
He is a Red Lion anyway!!! :lol:
 
I didn't really bother to change any names. Pretty much happy with their names as it is... Though sometimes, after replaying it again, I might change randomly to other names, or my own name sometimes.

Or pure dumb ones, (E.G. Stupid) just for comic relief... Usually just out of overwhelming boredom... Of course, i wouldn't continue the game with that name! Just amused at how other characters literally scolds you during the various conversations ingame.

I usually end up changing the names of the characters and replacing them with the names of my friends. I usually take the main character and make him me, with the exception of FFX, because I don't want to be the only character.
