what did you think of the story line

alot of people aren't into the whole "love story" thing. but i think final fantasy X hid it within it's main plot line very well.
also teh story line was a much different turn form the usual story lines.

so what do you all think of the story line for FFX
 
yeah idefinnatly thought it was well put together too.a good thing about this story. it didn't leave you asking, "well why did this happen" they kept to the story line.
 
I agree at the end when he dissapeared at least we know why he dissapeared and the whole how will Yuna live the rest of her life not knowing why he faded away thing was answered in FFX-2 but any way the entire storyline was well thought and all around great
 
The story reminds me of FFT, mainly because the main characters are considered heretics. I liked the strong love story between Yuna and Tidus, prolly my favorite one out've the FF series.

Each character had a unique meaning and contribution to the story, which made it very good.
 
I liked the story, it was very well played. I think it could have been slightly better, just a little something to throw you off track, like a twist somewhat to the one in KOTOR or something. If it had that, it would have been perfect, but im pretty sure 99.5 is good enough.
 
:D yeah 99.5 is really good and didn't the side quests kinda throw you off track I mean theres stuff that gets you to do something else becisdes just following the story sure there aren't enough but there are some:D
 
I really did like the plot, but it was a little to easy to figure out and it was short compared to the other Final Fantasy's and I have to be honest that I really was not keen on the whole love story thing, but at least it was a little lighter than Final Fantasy VIII's plot.
 
Seeing as he can't, I'm going to stand up for Tidus.

Yes, he was whiney, but think about things from his point of view:

  • His father disappeared when he was young, he hid his pain by hating his father
  • He had an extremely bad childhood, considering the neglect from his father, and also his mother when his father was around.
  • His entire life is stripped from him and he is placed in a foreign world (Spira)
  • He is forced to learn about things that continually hurt him (Sin = Jecht, Yuna's outcome of the pilgrimage, the fact that he's a dream, he will never go home, etc
  • He is confused and no one is willing to give him a decent answer and, sometimes, no answer at all.
In Tidus's situation, wouldn't you be a little whiney, or would you smile? Smile and not care? Don't think so...
 
I know its just that i didnt really like him he didnt seem like the main character to me.

He wasn't, Yuna was. However, this story had a twist: we saw the story of the main character through the eyes of another. Why do you think Yuna was the main character in FFX-2? Because she was the original main character as well.

Yuna = main
Tidus = narrator
 
:D actually the main character could be both Tidus and Yuna he was telling the story and you could control him and the entire thing was seen through his eyes. most of it was just about getting to Zanarkand to see it for his own eyes.


but on the other hand the entire journey was because of Yuna the piont of the story was to get Yuna to Zanarkand to get the Final aeon. and also it was about protecting her.

if you think about it there both the main characters of FFX and the reason why Yuna was the main character of FFX-2 was because Tidus dissapeared in X and she found the sphere that gave a clue that he was still out there the piont of the story in X-2 was to find Tidus but then it turned into saving Spira from Vegnagun. and FFX was about at first getting Tidus home then it turned into saving Spira from sin.:D

Granted, although I still believe Yuna was intended to be the original main character. It is completely understandable for someone to think otherwise, she is moved to the background sometimes...

Just to clarify: These are all opinions, I'm not stating anything as though fact, merely strong opinions.

Do we agree to disagree on this debate? It's subject to opinion, there is no way to change it to fact, unless SE told us personally. :P
