I work in a call center doing front office support for different home health care agencies. Basically, I transfer calls, help with after-hours scheduling, and do new client intakes. It's pretty good work. It pays well and it's not physically or that mentally taxing.

Plus most of my time here will be my downtime between calls.

Bumped to Palumpolum!

I was a graphic designer for a notable Yearbook/Photo company before they got bought out and merged with another photo company. I designed and also edited school-made yearbook covers to fit our templates before print, and did miscellaneous graphic work on the side. I still do graphic work here and there but it's hardly enough to say I do freelancing. I took the opportunity of the closure of our plant to stay at home and watch my kid full-time, as well as become a full-time *cough*underpaid*cough* FFF Staff member. :)

Your kid is going to remember this time you have with them for sure! And I see that a lot of the signatures here are your work so I must say, you do really nice work! :yay::yay:

Sorry about posting in the wrong area though.

Gosh my studies for business administration weren't put to good use as I've been an informal carer for years now instead.

Draining in all ways you can imagine but at the same time completely rewarding. Super strange that one.

Full time cat mom to two little shi--lovely cats.

Full time baby-sitter for all staff members on the forum. (Does that count? I think it should).

i used to be a cab driver for 10 years during my study at university, otherwise i gotten mental ill and i have no work, but get money cuz of my illness, rent is paid too and medical insurance. but i get only little money

I work as a Digital Designer for a creative and consultancy agency in Dublin (Ireland). I'm mostly responsible for UI design, creating digital advertisements, social media content creation, developing digital branding collateral as well as advising on web user experience and functionality. I also do freelance design work but I'm trying to severely cut back on that since I'm struggling a lot these days trying to function on three to four hours sleep - hard to do your best work in that condition. My job is something you have to kind of dedicate yourself to, the usual sort of gig where you can't log off until you've delivered on the ask, which does translate to a lot of late nights - I usually don't mind since I largely enjoy what I do. Mostly the struggle is in trying to find time for the things that matter and getting a chance to have a bit of a personal life, but that's the eternal struggle of almost everyone, so I have to keep things in perspective, especially since I'm lucky to be working in my dream job.

That sounds amazing and I'm glad youre doing what you love! :-)

I am bumping this a bit. :p

For now, I work as a 2nd year (out of three years) Post-doctoral instructor in Classics. I currently teach 3 courses each semester, mostly focusing on Ancient Greek, Latin, introductory Myth courses, Gender and Sexuality in the Ancient World, and Epic Poetry in translation. Not this year, but next year I will test the waters for staying in academia and going on the job market. I really am spending this semester just recovering from the dissertation process.

It pays the bills, although I am more about the teaching than the publication side of things.

I work in a control room for a very well known company. Im basically just an over paid admin/secretary/personal assistant but get paid too much to ever leave.

There's always the chance I'll get fired though 🤣
