What do you Drive?

Nice car there clyde you seemed to have taken those pics after a cleaning? xD

I'll try picturing my own polo, it's exactly the same model but the colour is different (metal green)

I've had my liscence since I was 16 & I know how to drive, but honestly I hate to drive.

I've had 4 friends die in car crashes & I've been in one wreck myself (not my fault, BTW), so I just don't really trust enough to drive. :P

driver's license at 16 :eek:

legally? :p

@ Ryker: What state do you live in?

@Tonberry:
In the US, most states grant driver's licenses at 16. Also most of them have very poor evaluation beforehand. A lot of them just pass them out after a very simple test.

Yes, in the U.S you can drive at the age of 16. Actually in some states the driving age can be as low as 14 years old. Getting your license varies from state to state.

Getting a license in the US is pretty easy. Walk into a DMV (Department of Motor vehicles), and pass the test. (About 20 questions btw) You practice for a while. You take the drivers test and you pass. In some states you have to wait 6 months after you get your permit before you take the driver's test. Also in some states you have to take a driver's education course.

Yes, 14 year olds aren't mentally stable. Most of the states that allow 14-15 year olds to drive is in the mid-west. I'm guessing because the mid-west isn't very populated and open land. Also some states allow teenagers to get their license 14-15 because their parents earn a low income, and they need to help support the family.

It's pretty bad where I live, and where I live you at least need 40 hours of supervised driving before you're allowed to have a license. IMO that doesn't stop kids from being stupid as soon as the supervision is gone. I certainly got myself in trouble practically the same week I got my license, and I waited until I was 18.

we get our learners permit at 16 after passing a computer test., drive for 50 hours... do a driving test to get your provisional license (red P1). stay on that till you turn 18 where you do a computer test to get the green P2 license. At 20 you take another computer test to get your full unrestricted license. We value safe drivers here.

I've got pics somewhere but I'm just too lazy to find them and plus I really ought to stop posting and go to bed, it's almost 1am in this neck of the woods and I wake up for work in 2 hours. But right now I'm driving a 2001 chevy s10 truck. I also own a 1985 mustang 5.0. Last year of the carbureted models before Ford swapped em all to fuel injection. It was a fun little thing to drive, and has some balls. But I'm not driving it right now. I'm having some issues of every time I push in the clutch, right when it hits its friction point the engine wants to try and die. I think it has to do with that safety sensor that makes sure you can't start up your car unless you have your clutch pushed in. I eventually plan to get it running again, and then I'll tear the thing up at the 1/4 mile track some more. But instead of spending the time to fix all of its various issues I'd opted to buy that truck I drive right now, it's a little more reliable and efficient in gas.

I've got a 2006 Nissan 350Z with a little work done to it.

I also just bought a 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio as a project car, but I don't have any pictures of it yet.
