What do you want to see in future FF games?

I'd like to see an alternative dream world that the main character enters into at certain spots in the game, like a shaman's hut, to accrue new powers.

I'd also like to see new magic, like...

possession-command an enemy
charm- an enemy will fight for you.
twin spirit-create a twin ghost of yourself so you can do double the damage.
borrow-be able to do what an enemy can do while fighting them. Borrow from their magics.
reverse time- just got hurt real bad? reverse time. no damage done.
foresee- See a glimpse of what lies ahead on the map. A second sight to see what monsters are out there.
levitate- better than float, the ability to actually fly around.
justice- if an enemy has done you a lot damage, they'll recieve a lot of damage, but you'll recieve damage for what you've done to them.
throw- an enemy is magically picked up into the air, then hurled at another enemy.
temper- your powers will grow stronger as an enemy attacks you.
sacrifice- sacrifice one comrade, and all enemies will be destroyed. Or is that too evil? Maybe the suicide spell is too dark too, where the enemy starts attacking himself. :whistle2:

That's all I can think of for now.

I would like them to stop trying to impress the younger generation and stick with what final fantasy if supposed to be about. Also they need to bring Noubo Uematsu back, the music has been subpar since he left  IMO the last real FF game was X, after that everything went bad. We need the elements that made FF great.
1. Good charecters with their own personality and story.
2. A decent plot that actually has some twists and turns.
3. PLEASE MAKE A DECENT STORYLINE!!!!!!!!!!!
The past two games (XII and XIII) didn't have these. XII was just boring and it took a ridiculous amount of grinding to get to the levels that you needed to be to face the next boss. The storyline was horrible as were the charecters.
XIII was a good game and a good time playing, but does it deserve the FF title, i don't think so.

Square needs to go back to the roots of what made FF great and bring it back.
Sorry for the rant. :wacky:

I want the old battle system where you can control all your party members commands. FF12 and 13 are two slight disappointments in a row. Im starting to lose faith in future FF's.

-I actually REALLY want the return of the crystals. I really liked them and the plot could still be complex and keep them.
-A better levelling up system. The crystarium would have been AMAZING if you had more customisation within the roles and not have 3 main roles and then 3 others which are ridiculously annoying to advance.
-Plot has been good so far, I really enjoyed XIII's.
-More tension between the part members. I hated how everyone so easily band together in the latest games. The Wakka-Rikku failness is the biggest flaw in FFX imo. I saw some real potential for some drama there.
-More exploring. FFXIII was very linear. I miss figuring out what to do, it added suspense and a real sense of achievement. You were simply DYING to find out what happens next.
-Bring back running away, ESPECIALLY if they make it have more exploring. If I had to explore and couldn't run away, i would cry.

Thats all I can think of right now...I adored FFXIII with all my heart until I finished the storyline, couldnt go back EVERYWHERE I wanted and it somehow just lacked that pull to do more post-storyline.

A good game? Albeit, that might be asking a bit too much. I wouldn't mind some sort of Western influence from the likes of Naughty Dog, Bioware, Bethesda etc The Final Fantasy side of the company seems to be heading on a downward spiral. All I want is a good storyline with good character development. Something they've failed to deliver over the past 10 years.

1. world map - it gives the feeling that you are in a different world. They could have made a hi-def world map with all the details. But the 'giant' character walking on the field will look ridiculous in a hi-def game. :P
2. LOTS and lots of beautiful places - lush forest, coastal villages, etc
3. As many towns as possible - they better compensate with the lack of 'real' towns in FFXIII
4. As many NPCs as possible - same reason as above.
5. Return of random battles - the monsters should be visible on the map like in XIII (To make it less cheap). Just that when you re-enter the map, the formation is randomized. And there's a chance of spotting a rare monster like in XII.
6. Ability to control all characters - we have enough of controlling only 1 character 2 times in a row
7. Music composed by Nobuo Uematsu please :)
8. Explorable maps like in XII. There should also be maze-like maps in dungeons. Not like branches that lead you to a treasure and that's it :(
9. original storyline that has not been heard of before.
11. minigames. Lots of them.
12. Moogles. I mean, real moogles. Not a mere shop.
13. real Biggs and Wedge. Not a mere shop too.
14. A good cid. We have 2 bad cids 2 times in a row :(
15. The typical bubbly girl (Yuffie, Selphie, Eiko, Rikku, Vanille)
16. The typical girl that comes from an extinct race or have hidden great powers (aerith, rinoa, garnet, yuna, vanille/fang)
17. super evil villain

lol these will take ages to develop :P

How about a game where the party does not meet everyone at the begining? I was a little annoyed when everyone in X, XII, and XIII practically met at the begining of the game. The only people you got to meet along the way are Rikku (who Tidus had met previously before) and Fang. I find it more fun when you meet someone who joins your party and then watch how they fit in with everyone else.

The oposite of that Rydia is when Shadow nicks off during a battle on FFVI lol

What is happening with FF over the last2 games is S-E has seemed t of forgotten what there forte is: Fantasy and Drama + Music and Myth, the stories of the last 2 FF games have not been all that bad, they just lacked convincing protagonists.

I think it was Rydia who said Ashelia was not a convincing princess? They just need to be original and think there Character development through, Vaan was the biggest mistake S-E has made in a long time IMO he ruined FFXII because no wanted could Identify with him.

FFXIII was just an amalgam of the worst kind, it took the good parts of other games reduced there complexity or increased your dependence on them as game play mechanisms:

Crystarium=Poorly re-tooled Spheregrid, FFX S.G allowd for progression and choice.

Chain Bonus Gouge=Over used Chain Hits from FFX-2 where multi hit combo were harder to achieve.

Paradigm Shift=really Bad Idea!

Just to name few.

As far as what I would like to see in the future for FF?........How well FFXIII Versus is received will tell me if they still have what it takes to make decent FF game.

I just want a game where Its not a struggle to play with exciting characters and a half way decent story it cant be that hard to achieve, not a game that I have to put away for weeks at a time to get over how crap it is.

On a intuitive note how about a role system that can be assigned to many, many characters but you can choose which chracter you have in your party. Say S-E givs you a choice of a 100 people to choose from over the game and you can send people in your current party away.

And recruit other peopel you like the look of to design an original looking party that is your own? they all have various roles they can perform and have different Statistical output as level.

But you have to choose 1 role so they can join your party and that is the role they will stay with the whole game? and if you choose to let them go you have to perform a task to return them to your party.

Because if you send them away, and then want them back.....what the hell do they owe you?

what i would like to see is a main character who does not use a sword cant they use like a lance maybe axe or something i mean thay cant all use sword cant

A bigger part with Moogles like we got in XII, and I want to see more than two to three female characters who aren't weak or bratty, I don't want to hear people reg about how Mary Sue FF girls are anymore :bored:

I would like to see a few different things, nothing that has to happen but would help make a great gaming experience for at least myself. Personally a good storyline that grasps you and really gives you a personal hatred for the villians like Seymour did for me in X and some good characters like Wakka or Khamari(sp?) is plenty. However...

Another great Mini-Game like Blitzball where you can carry a small career outside of the main storyline. Being able to hire talent is awesome and took up a ton of time. More prizes for the characters in the game would be useful but isn't needed.

A chance to create your own Main Character. This is a big one for me if I was being picky. Games are defining Character Creation today and FF should use it as well at least try it. A Console Version where you can select a class and go from there in customization would bring a smile to people's faces I believe. Stories could differ a bit depending on the character class much like Dragon Age did.

Tournaments. Games like Breath Of Fire III and Kingdom Hearts I and II (as far as I've played) had Tournaments you could join at least once. These were bright spots in the games, they brought challenges in a way that has been apart of the human race throughout history. Gladiator Style Battles are epic for games if done right. When you become Champion, bring new Challenges even after to keep it interesting. This could also be the Mini-Game I mentioned above.

Weapons Customization and Leveling Weapons. My question is this. When playing a game where you carry a weapon, how often do you want to have a one of a kind? Blade has his own sword, Conner MacCloud has his own, Cloud has his own, Titus was given his trademark sword. Expecially if it's MMO, you want something that defines you. Name the Weapon like with Elder Scrolls, that way if you want you can sell your own brand of weapons that others can purchase.

Overall a good game.....Good Story, Good Characters, GREAT Town Exploration, and Good varity of weapons and clothing/armor.

id like a fully customized main character. male/female, adjust height, weight, everything. Just will have to have two voice actors.

I would actually like to be able to see changes in Armor/Clothing in future games so youca n see them physically on the character, say if a guy wears armor by default and you put a clouck on him make it bloody visible!

A good storyline. 'Nuff said.
I blame FF12 for making me say this. BUT I HAVE HOPE IN 13.

Joking aside, something like Phantasy Star Portable would be really nice. Being able to adjust a lot of the character's things(I couldn't think of any other word), like hair, clothing, voice, weapon, race, etc. I'd love to see that. :D

ALSO! Quests! I haven't seen any Final Fantasies with quests. I mean, sometimes you have to do side-quests and such but that doesn't count. Like, for example, Moogles from across the world would give you quests, and if you complete them you get a reward~ I'm a genius! xD

battles that are environmentally altered would be interesting. ex. snow, rain, rock. Can make your magic more powerful, or weaker depending on what you use.

They did that in FFXII it was lame just like the whole game.

Maybe In another game it would be better.

Id like to see the Weapon upgrade system from FFXIII be al little bit more or a lot more in depth so the that the effort you put into is a little more visible.......putting a couple of 100,000 gil of engine parts in to yourweapon should held increase its power in a different way than 200,000gil worth of various slimes.

Most people have covered features of the game Id like to see, Id also like to see much darker worlds and much darker characters. The newer titles have characters have seem to look alike and all have crazy funky clothes, instead Id like to see characters that have more of a pre FFX era look and much more serious in character. I'd like to see a dark depressing world, similiar to FFVII.. theres been numerous titles since VII and it would be good to see some of those ideas re-introduced in a new way. Gimme a world that rains all the time and everyone wears black and grey, no more catwalk fashion clothed characters.

Chocobos/moogles/cactuars/moomba's
Many NPC's (audio + eventually subtitles)
1 or more Non-Human party member(s)
Controllable Airships and other vehicles
Hidden towns/caves/ruins/spots
Many unique shops with plenty different merchants divided
4 or more gigantic cities
6 or more towns/villages
1 fishing town/harbour (cool atmosphere) Boat trip always a plus!
Trains and metro cutscenes/storyline etc. (it was always cool to be on board on a train and see the story revolving/interacting while in the train waiting)
Fully Controllable Summons
8-10 Playable Characters (each will have his/her past/life/story in detail shown eventually)
Drama/Love/Action and for once maybe real HORROR would do FF some good, a real sinister FF title

cant think of more aspects/ingredients
